Glad there was a sequel, I would have wondered if there was a happy ending. The character's are wonderful and you hope they get to have a better life. I was not disappointed. Is there going to be another one? Hope so.

Interested tn Tucson since I live there. Interested in Indians and liked how this particular Indian situation was handled. Liked most of the characters and how they were portrayed. There was a lot of "helpful" coincidence in the story, however, but I didn't mind too much.

Once again I have loved another book by Barbara Kingsolver. I guess it's her unique way of storytelling. It's very down to earth in all aspects. I really do hope she continues her writing because I sure do plan on buying many more!!!!

Another lovely read from the author of The Lacuna, The Poisonwood Bible and Flight Behaviour. The story of how one event can change people's lives forever. A sensitive look at the challenges faced by the US' indigrenous people as they look for identity.

I became very fond of many characters in this novel, surely a sign of good writing. I love her fresh and funny ways of expresing life's truths. Part two of a good story. Heartwarming but not sappy.

I really enjoy Barbara's descriptive expressions. Whether it be adjectives, adverbs or verbs, they always project a meaning to which I can relate. Her plot development is genuine, not contrived---and generally a surprise. Even though the settings and experiences are nothing I can imagine for myself, I still am made to feel a part of the scene. I have to give :pigs in Heaven" a five.

Kingsolver's books are all well written, well thought out, and well edited, making for a smooth and easy read. I like the way she always has a theme, and her comments and thoughts and the way she brings meaningful ideas in a fictional way. Just plain good

I first read this book several years ago because a friend gave it to me. Since then I've gone back and read The Bean Trees and several other Kingsolver novels, but I always love to re-read Pigs in Heaven for the characters, the wonderful descriptions of emotions, and the flow of life. I always cry when Turtle raises her arms and says 'Pop-pop?' Thank you, Barbara Kingsolver!

Kingsolver has a wonderful gift for creating characters who live and remind us of the complexity and beauty of life. This is a moving, funny and universal story of loss and gain. It's a reminder of what it is to be human and how precious life is. Alice is a masterpiece.

Pigs in Heaven was an absolute delight. I am such a fan of Barbara Kingsolver as she tells her stories and makes you feel you are right there and rooting for all the people involved and that everything will turn out right. This was an excellent read!

Good book for hight school students. Talks about the Indian Culture and the experience of combining cultures. Not too grafic with violence or sex. Implies both. Better for teenage reading than adults.
