Jason and Leah are both photographers who get recruited to fill in at a high powered wedding by the ultra elite, Wedding Belles. They share an interesting past so the tension is rather high from the start.

Even though it took a while for their history to be fully explained everything that led up to the reveal was very entertaining. Of course things could have been made easier but what fun would that have been .

After all was said and done, I really enjoyed Jason and Leah’s story. I do wish it could have been more than a novella, I think they would have been a lot of fun w/ their ridiculousness.

Great start to a new series about wedding planners! This short novella focuses on Leah and Jason, two of their photographers who had a summer fling, but a misunderstanding tore them apart. There is lots of chemistry between them as they work a wedding together. Leah is determined to avoid Jason, but Jason is determined to get Leah back. Will they find their way back together - read this great short story and find out!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

From this Day Forward is the prequel to the Wedding Belles series by Lauren Layne. Leah and Jason are perfect for each other, but they are both too stubborn to talk about what went wrong. This story is short and to the point, and while you don't really get to know the characters too well just yet, this is only the prequel. So, I know we're in for more in the upcoming books, and I'm really looking forward to them.

The ARC of From This Day Forward by Lauren Layne was kindly provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.

This is a very cute and endearing novella about two photographers with a past that keeps coming back. They end up working together on a wedding and realize maybe they were wrong.

I really feel it’s hard to deliver a romance story in under 200 pages. I really feel like they need to be longer to deliver everything that makes romance books great. That being said, Lauren did an excellent job with what she did give us.

Anyone who is a lover of Hallmark movies and easy romance reads will love this novella.

This is a short story was fun to read. Leah and Jason have a past. They shared a brief but passionate affair that ended in mistrust and heartache. They both are proud and stubborn and refuse to make the EASY move to fix their relationship. When they meet again after a year apart, the spark is still there. Jason sounds like he has a really interesting story. I wish the story was longer so that we could get the full Jason effect. although the story was short, we got a good slice of emotion and romance. I am looking for ward to the series.

This is a great start to the Wedding Belles series. I loved how well written all the characters were- such personality & history detailed in a novella is rare. Leah & Jason (Red & Rhodes) are fun & feisty it was entertaining to watch their give & take. Can't wait to read more about the secondary players in future books.

My only complaint is the book was too short.

A quick, sexy read! This is the novella for Lauren Layne's new series, "The Wedding Belles". Wedding photographers, Leah and Jason, are thrown together to take pictures for a very prestigious wedding. It has been a year since their breakup, when Leah discovers Jason has cheated on her. Sparks fly as their relationship is reignited again!

OMG!!! What an amazing start to a brand new series by Lauren Layne.

From This Day Forward is a novella and a prequel to Lauren Layne's The Wedding Belles Series. This is a series that is going to revolve around wedding planners in New York.

Being that this was a novella, it is a very quick read, but let me tell you, it lacked for nothing. We got laughs, hurt, sex, and love. This is also a second chance romance story. As always Lauren's writing was fantastic and I truly have to say I think this might turn into my favorite series by her. This novella sucked me in and I didn't stop until I was finished. I truly hope we see more of Jason and Leah in the future books of this series.

As I said this is a second chance romance between Jason and Leah. Leah and Jason are both wedding photographers in New York and work closely with the ladies of the Wedding Belles planning agency. When the head of the agency calls Leah to talk, she knows it will be important. Leah is asked by Alexis to help cover the wedding of the former president's daughter that weekend. Leah knows this is the opportunity of a life time and can't say no, even after she finds out that Alexis has also hired Jason....her ex boyfriend from a year ago. To say things ended well is an understatement. So to say that Leah isn't happy about the situation would be putting it mildly. Will Jason and Leah ever get past the past and learn to love and forgive each other?? You'll have to dive into this book to get that answer!!!

We are also introduced to Alexis and Heather who work for the Wedding Belles wedding planning agency. I am assuming that the future books will be about these two and one other that we didn't meet. I know I am looking forward to reading all the books in this series.

So if you are looking for that short, fun and sexy second chance romance book, pick this one up once it releases, you won't be sorry!! You truly can't go wrong with a Lauren Layne book!!! I know that when I read her books, I will be left with a smile on my face and new characters to love :)

Both Leah and Jason are wedding photographers... they actually met before the start of this story... and by met, I mean they had something going on a year ago, until... well, until there was a situation and no, I can't tell you more... :) the story is very short in itself, so I need you to have some surprises along the way... ;) after that she freezed him off, not wanting to hear any explanations whatsoever... and now it's almost a year later and they are force to spend a long weekend in one place working a wedding together, after she agreed to do a favor for one of her friends, and you guessed it, a future heroine in one of the books in this series, Alexis :) and of course during that time some old flames are reignited and sparks definitely fly between them :) since it's just a novella, some things were happening much faster than I would want... ;) don't get me wrong, it's still a very lovely story, even though I wanted to smack them both at some point and teach them a lesson about how much can you loose when pride and fear wins over reason and heart... ;) but on the other hand it's all easy to judge when it's not your life and heart in jeopardy... ;)

I inhaled this novella in one sitting, finishing it way too quickly ;) I would love to read even more about those characters and I sincerely hope they will appear at least in a scene here or there throughout this series... ;) and now I can't wait even more to read all three books :) fortunately for me, and all of us ;) they are all scheduled to be published this year :) with the first one really soon, almost on my birthday at the end of july ;) so far I've read only one other book written by the lovely Lauren Layne, "Good girl" and I absolutely loved it :) so I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands on her other work... and this novella was not a disappointment :) the writing style was as great as I remembered and it was a very cute, second chance romance, that definitely made me more curious about the full lenght books :) we do get glimpses of the characters from the novels in this story, but Leah and Jason are defnitely the main focus :) there will be no quotes today, mainly becaus of the lenght of this story... :) everything I wanted to choose was way too spoilerific :) but believe me... this story had plenty of sexy banter and funny dialogues, and you should absolutely give it a try :)

From This Day Forward by Lauren Layne is a novella that is a prequel to her new The Wedding Belles series. Leah McHale is our heroine, and she is a wedding photographer. Leah’s upcoming job was cancelled, and she was offered to help Wedding Belles photograph the ex president’s daughter upcoming wedding. Leah jumps at this chance, but when she finds out that her ex boyfriend, who is also a photographer will also work at this wedding. Since this a high clientele wedding, the ladies who run Wedding Belles, wanted both to do the work, as each could take different areas of the wedding.

Jason Rhodes is quite a charming hunk, and he is also known as a womanizer. A year ago, Leah, who was falling in love with Jason, found him with another woman in his home. Leah left Jason with a broken heart, she never looked back. Now that are both expected to work together, Leah finds it hard to control the feelings she still has for Jason.

This is a second chance romance, where Jason is determined to prove to Leah that he still loves her, and she needs to know the truth about that night a year ago. Not everything is as it may look.

What follows is a slow rebuilding of a romance that never should have ended. This was a sweet sexy charming novella with a very likeable couple, whom you rooted for. It was apparent how much they truly cared about each other, but the obstacles would depend on them giving each other another chance. In the midst of this wonderful romance was the fun of preparing for the planning of this wedding. From This Day Forward was a quick but sexy read. Lauren Layne managed to give us a bit of everything in this novella, which was an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading the first book in this series, To Have and To Hold, coming in July.

This book! It's a novella, an introduction into Lauren Layne's newest series, and I totally wanted more!! It's so good. I read it quickly and didn't want to put it down. It quickly sucked me in and I was captured in Leah and Jason's world.

Jason and Leah have a past. They both work in the same profession and have managed to avoid each other for the past year. Until Leah's friend has an offer she can't refuse. It was a juicy story and I couldn't wait for more of their history to unfold. Not only is their story happening, but also the world around them is interesting and their friends make up a fun piece of the story as well. Their relationship is rocky, steamy, sweet, sad and oh-so-good! They complement each other and as the reader, I couldn't help but cheer them on. I wanted the walls to come down and for them to enjoy just being in each other's company. I adored this book (and really, any book from Lauren Layne!) and I can't wait for more from her. I highly recommend this one! You won't be disappointed!

This is a prequel to the upcoming Wedding Belles series, about an elite group of wedding co-ordinators in Manhattan, and this is the story of highly regarded wedding photographers Leah McHaleand Jason Rhodes, who are tasked to work together on the former first daughter’s high profile wedding.

Leah and Jason had a short-but-intense affair a year ago which ended badly, and with them now reunited for the first time since their split, the tension between them is at an all-time high. It’s obvious in every touch, every glance and every word they say to each other that there are still strong feelings there, but while Jason is all smooth charm, Leah is immediately dismissive of him.

The story is written in dual POV so we know that they both want each other. Jason is determined to get his second chance with ‘the one that got away’, and he makes that abundantly clear. And though Leah has missed him desperately, she’s clouded by her anger and hurt from the past and is terrified to risk her heart to him again.

Of course, every interaction is brimming with chemistry and the sexual tension is insane! And definitely helped along by Jason’s outrageous flirting.

“Okay, I’ll have dinner with you, but as a working dinner. Not a date. I’m convinced we can figure out how to work together in spite of our thorny past.”
He resisted the urge to pump his fist in triumph, and Leah lifted a warning finger. “Again, dinner. I’m not sleeping with you.”
Jason picked up his whisky and threw it back in one swallow before standing and grabbing his bag. Before Leah had a chance to react, he’d moved toward her, shamelessly invading her personal space as he bent down and placed his lips near her ear.
“Sweetheart, by the time I’m done with you, sleep will be the last thing on your mind. I guarantee it.”

Yes, it’s all kinds of hot! Jason is a dirty talker, and there is a nice amount of sexy time, but neither of them disputes the fact that they are dynamite in bed together. It’s all about the emotions - can they move past what tore them apart a year ago and learn to trust each other again? Will one night together be the start of something new for them, or will it be the perfect way for them to say goodbye forever?

I enjoyed this short story. The set up is great, the story moves along at a great pace and the romance is steaming hot with a lot of heart. The intensity and wild chemistry that Lauren Layne is able to get into such a small book is fantastic! I did find the whole reason behind the break-up to be a bit weak, so I was happy to get some resolution on that, and I absolutely fell in love with Jason! He’s an absolute sweetheart as the man desperate to get his girl back, and I love the way he totally put himself out there despite the barriers that Leah kept putting up between them.

“Contrary to the delusions in your head, you’re not every woman’s fantasy.”
“I never wanted to be every woman’s fantasy. Just yours.”

It’s a solid start to a new series and a really sweet love story. I’m looking forward to more.

3.5 stars.

The prequel for the newest Lauren Layne series, The Wedding Belles, is enough to wet readers appetite into this new story setting. In From This Day Forward, we are introduced into the fascinating world of wedding planners, where magic is churned for the biggest day in anyone's life. Here we meet Jason Rhodes and Leah McHale, two wedding photographers whose life was all roses and romance and hot steamy sex a year ago but unlike the fairy tale weddings they chronicle, theirs was a short lived one ending in heartache for the both of them. But the biggest wedding in the Wedding Belles history needs them both, can they set aside their differences to work together or will this be the catalyst for them to finally put a closure to their relationship or to start it again? Leah and Jason will make you laugh, cry, yell at their stubborn pride but ultimately cheer them on to their happy ending amidst the wedding of the year!

From This Day Forward is hot and intense! Leah is a woman with unique strength and knows what she wants and does not want in a man with a touch of humble insecurity. Jason is a player until he meets Leah. She just does not know that and his pride keeps him from telling her. Thus, you have two people who love each other but cannot get it together.

The resulting fuss of two prideful people makes for a great romance. Jason's pride will not let him tell her the truth of the situation. Leah's pride will not let her listen to him. Now, I will say that Jason's colossal oops in walking out with the bimbo blonde because he is lonely was not the smartest thing to do when you want to get back with your girl.

Lauren Layne has started another great series we all will enjoy. Thank you Net Galley for sharing this book and allowing an honest review.

This quick read was power packed with everything, it was funny, sexy, misunderstandings and pride that kept Leah and Jason separate.
I enjoyed every second of this book and it left me wanting more. Can't wait for next in the series.
