Lauren Layne wins again with her third Wedding Belles book. She's created likable characters who light up the page with their realism and flaws.

I liked Heather - she is determined young professional who's followed her heart to NYC, and is living her own dream as a wedding planner. A big wedding has been dropped into her lap - a huge socialite wants the wedding of the year, but within a tight timeframe. With an open budget and indifferent bride, Heather's BS flag is raised high, but she does as she's paid and works to create a dreamy wedding for the woman.

Josh Tanner is taking a break from adulting. He's done the whole super-successful Wall Street thing, and it nearly killed him. So he's decided to lounge around, live the frat boy life, and enjoy playing music with his ok-but-not-great band. He seems uninterested in anything for more than a few moments. I won't spoil why he's like this, but Josh has (what he believes is) a good reason to keep people at arm's length.

Heather begins to fall for Josh, but she does eventually realize that the relationship is very one-sided. When she does figure this out, instead of retreating, she decides to make Josh fall in love with her - but he is one resistant man! He stubbornly holds onto his "I'm not a forever kind of guy" throughout almost all of the book - and then the gotcha moment arrives, when Josh decides they are well and truly done. It tore me up a little, and I wondered how the author would pull Heather back into his life...and I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) that these two did get their (albeit kind of rushed) happy ending.

So the only real downside to this novel was the rushed ending. Josh's laissez-faire "Yeah, I'm loaded" comment made me feel like Layne was trying to suddenly go for a millionaire hero - it didn't sit well alongside the rest of the novel, which didn't have any mention of money (it was actually a relief, as the billionaire thing can wear on me a little). But, I was willing to let it go because the rest of the book was very good - so give it a try!

Glory reigns when reading karma gives me a #oneofmyfavorite, and I knew Lauren Layne’s For Better or Worse was just that during Chapter 2. I felt like Ms. Layne fed me a happy pill at the 10% mark and my euphoria lasted through the last page. For Better or Worse is a comical battle of the sexes with hilarious character dialogue wrapped in a complex story that explores the emotional effects of cancer.

Heather Fowler is a small town Michigan girl who has dreamed of becoming a wedding planner and living in New York City since she was eight years old. At twenty-seven, she resides in Manhattan and works as an assistant for one of the most successful wedding planning firms on the East Coast, Wedding Belles. With her residency goal achieved, Heather is just one wedding away from fulfilling her other childhood ambition by removing the ‘assistant’ from her job title. All Heather must do is successfully plan and produce the wedding of a Kardashian-like celebrity and socialite, Danica Robinson. Danica’s wedding promises to be financially lucrative to the Belles, and the potential media hype could catapult the firm’s reputation to bi-coastal fame. The potential roadblock to Heather’s imminent success is, unfortunately, the bride who couldn’t care less about her wedding and refuses to provide the necessary input for Heather to create a dream wedding. Danica is ambivalent, bordering on apathetic, and acts very un-bride-like by not even showing up to cake tastings or dress fittings. Heather decides to work harder and clings to her fading optimism, but her determination is further challenged when she is kept awake night after night by her next-door neighbor, Josh Tanner, whose band likes to practice at all hours of the night.

I believe all readers have "go to authors" for whatever they are in the mood for at the moment and Lauren Layne is one of those authors for me. She just doesn't write the same type of stories over and over but she comes up with new exciting stories that keep you up way your bedtime. So many exciting characters with different personalities and all the hot guys she writes about has me wanting to jump into every single story.

.
The Wedding Belles series is quickly becoming one of my favorite series of Laynes. To be honest when I started this series I didn't care for Heather as a main character but I did like her as a secondary one so when I found out she was getting her own book I said I would give her a try and I'm so glad I did. She was funny, driven and smart. She had all these dreams growing up and she stuck it out and is really close to making it all happen which I thought was really awesome.

Josh was Heather's opposite in so many ways. He had it all but after a health scare he gave it up to just do what he wanted and live more. At first with all the women coming and going I wasn't sure I was going to like him as the hero but once he started becoming friends with Heather and spending time with her I began to come around to him and by the end just loved him!

For Better or Worse was exactly what the title is about. It's about no matter what that the other person is there if your sick, sad, happy, or angry. Layne did a really great job at touching on all those emotions and the acceptance of what could happen.

I laughed, teared up and thought this story is one of those stories I'll re-read again in the future more then once to be honest. I'm already looking forward to the next story and truly can't wait! If you haven't met the Wedding Belles yet you are missing out on some kick ass heroines and the sexy men who win them over so pick up or pre- order them all today!

i'd previously reviewed to have and to hold, which was the first book in the wedding belles series and while i was more intrigued by the story simmering between alexis and logan, it made sense that for better or worse would be heather's story. i'm a sucker for many a romance trope, and the neighbors who hate each other but have crazy chemistry is one of my favorites. and heather and josh might actually end up being one of my favorite couples who fall into this category.

everything about them is awesome. the chemistry. the issues keeping them from fully committing. the way the relationship becomes a relationship without either of them realizing. the declaration of love. the big romantic gesture. it just all worked for me. and it's weird because both heather and josh are somewhat frustrating. but you also get it. the author gives you enough background to let you understand why they have the hang-ups they do. and even when the characters, and josh in particular, behaves in ways that are utterly frustrating, they are also in character and make complete sense.

but really the chemistry between these two characters was super hot. i loved that they referred to each other by their apartment numbers. i loved how they talked to each other period. even when they were arguing or talking around things, the way they interacted felt so real. and i just ate it up. the wedding belles series is definitely worth reading, and so far for better or worse is my favorite. but to love and to cherish will be released later this fall, and i'm guessing it will be alexis and logan's turn at the plate. maybe it will be a grand slam?

Can LL do any wrong? Seriously, FOR BETTER OR WORSE was absolutely fabulous. LL is brilliant with the witty banter and at capturing playfulness between two people who are dancing around one another while continuing to keep it fun and the sexual tension flowing. I’m going to have to say that so far it’s my favorite in the series. And I know you’ll agree.

Heather and Josh have a magnetic chemistry that just flies off of the pages, and is trapped under the dislike they have of one another which helps to ramp the intensity up to crazy levels. One’s more carefree while the other is career-driven and that contrast allowed for both to be shown what was lacking in their own lives. What grew from a dislike of one another, morphed into a slow, passionate burn. I so enjoyed the lead-up to their getting together because it was filled with fun banter, ripe sexual tension, and beautiful friendship. There’s a youthfulness to Josh’s outlook that can’t be ignored, while Heather’s drive and fierce independence is admirable and will hit home for a lot of readers.

I’ll never get how LL can instantly captivate me from page one, but she continually does. The dance and the lead-up are the best part of her books and FOR BETTER OR WORSE has that in spades. I really honestly couldn’t put it down because the story was so well crafted, and both it and their chemistry pulled at me continuously. She writes characters that feel so real and are just incredibly likable, another thing that LL does well. It was absolutely fantastic and this series is one not to be missed.

Wonderfully entertaining, heartwarming, and incredibly sexy!

This is a classic contemporary romance story full of appealing characters, catchy dialogue, and swoon-worthy chemistry!

The plot is engaging, funny, and romantic. The writing is smooth and fluid. And the characters are sincere, lovable, and unforgettably charming.

This is the second novel in the “Wedding Belles” series, and I can honestly say I enjoyed it as much, if not more than the first one. It is a perfect, lighthearted, sexy read, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, To Love and to Cherish, due out later this fall.

This series gets better and better! I was very much looking forward to Heather's story after reading To Have And To Hold and it more than met my expectations. Heather and her noisy neighbor Josh start off on the wrong foot and this leads to the most delicious banter. (This gets me every time.) After more than a few choice words to each other, they become reluctant friends and then, inevitably, something more. Josh is a cancer survivor, something he refuses to tell Heather about. He instead makes choices based on the tired maxim "live like you're dying." Except his choices don't make him very happy, something Heather keenly points out, even without knowing the underlying reason. On the other hand, Heather makes choices based on the life she wants to lead, almost a "name it and claim it." She's got a big promotion on the line and a celebrity client who won't behave. As Heather and Josh try to make sense of where their lives are headed, the juxtaposition leads in interesting directions. I really loved seeing how they began to give one another a chance and especially loved the lessons they taught each other. It wrapped up a bit too quickly at the end but I also appreciated how Layne avoided cliches and tired responses, especially when Heather learned about Josh's past cancer. A truly enjoyable read.

I didn’t read the synopsis and Josh’s backstory and actions packed an emotional punch. I am swooning and wanting to hug him even if he is a player. Josh and Heather continue their dance in this “haters to lovers” romance. I love the banter, obsessive talk about coffee and obvious attraction. On the work front, Heather is dealing with a strange high-profile bride who wants a wedding at the Plaza in three months’ time and she wants it ON A SATURDAY! Epp! However, this is Heather’s chance to shine and she will enlist any help she can get. Layne took her time allowing us to get to know Heather and Josh. I enjoyed their budding friendship and teasing. When these two finally give into their attractions Layne heated up the pages making it was worth the wait.

These two are perfect together, only Heather has no idea about Josh’s past and he shuts down when she asks. We spend time with them, their family and friends. What began as a no-strings affair is turning into anything but. The last part of For Better or Worse had my heart in my throat. I experienced so many emotions as our couple had to grow, trust and more. Of course, in the back of mind I knew we would get our HEA, but I became swept up. All I can say is that, “It was worth the truffles.” Copy provided by publisher, full review at caffeinated book reviewer.

Love! Heather and Josh were hilarious because Josh was laid back while Heather was wound up. The two picked at one another but also found an odd sort of common ground which led to more. I liked watching them grow and have the walls come down.

Heather loves her job but it doesn't pay nearly well enough to live lavishly. I mean, she's an assistant wedding planner in Manhattan! She's all about color coordinator, Pinterest boards, organization and working towards rising up in the company. She's crafty, controlled and witty. Her schedule isn't 9-5 but that's okay because, as I said, she loves her job. What she doesn't love is having to be awake early Saturday morning and not being able to sleep Friday night when her neighbor is having some type of music, bang fest. This is the first meeting between her and Josh and it's hilarious.

Josh has a reason he lives the way he does and has more money than he probably knows what to do with. He loves being in the band as a hobby and living his life at his own pace. He's brilliant with numbers but you wouldn't know that unless you knew the old Josh. He's charming, witty, rogue-ish and relaxed. He does everything in his power to get under Heather's skin but doesn't count on just how much she would get under his.

The read was entertaining with ups, downs, and weird in betweens.

I stumbled upon this author a few months ago via my e-library, and she's quickly become one of my favorite feel-good authors. Somehow, Miss Layne always balances honest characters, humor, sweet romance, and some hotness into a swoon-worthy story. I have yet to be disappointed by her writing. It flows easily, but isn't overly simplistic. Her characters are multi-dimensional, with flaws and triumphs that make them likable and people you want to see get their HEA. This book was no exception. I haven't read the first book in this particular series (yet), so it can definitely be read as a standalone without issue. Heather and Josh had a great push and pull to themselves and the entire romance and dialogue came together beautifully. I loved watching them overcome their struggles and how it all came together. I'm not one of those "it's all about the weddings" girls, so I didn't know that this series would entice me as much as the office workplace series Layne authored. However, it never felt overdone in the wedding details, just tasteful and interesting. The book and the characters' romance provided the perfect escape and just made me happy- the mark of an exceptional story that I'll reread in the future.

There aren't many authors who are so amazing that I love everything they write, but LL is definitely one of them. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read book one yet but it's on top of my TBR.

Heather has dreamed of moving to NYC and being a wedding planner her whole life. She's finally made it. She's an associate wedding planner and finally has her own apartment. If she can ace this next wedding, she'll be able to remove associate from her title. If only her next door neighbor would keep his band practice down so she can get the sleep she needs. Josh used to be a workaholic hedge fund manager until his health scare forced him to reevaluate what's important in life. He's not looking for any long lasting relationships and he sure wouldn't mind spending some time with his new neighbor.

The banter between these two was absolutely hilarious! Their bickering at every turn completely drew me in and had me wondering what they were going to spar about next. While there was a ton of humor, there was also a healthy dose of angst and heat. This friends to lovers story is a definite must read! I can't wait for Alexis's story!!

For Better or Worse, the second full length book in the Wedding Belles series is all sorts of fantastic! From the start of the page readers will be so engrossed and captivated with the story of Heather and Josh. Heather from the start of the series was always present in the periphery but she didn't really make a lasting impression at first. But in this book, we get to know her personality, what drives her and what she sees in her future. When Josh comes in the picture, the chemistry between them was just perfect. The opposites attract/friendship to lovers theme was so perfectly balanced it hit the right notes for this wonderful story. The dialogue was always on point, humorous, witty and so real it just made you smile and laugh while reading. The developing relationship between Josh and Heather was all your romantic comedy movies blended together to give you that equal parts funny, poignant and sweetly sexy romance that made your day. Josh does have his douche bag moments, all perfectly understandable at some point given his situation. He does make up for it with his grand gesture in the end. Lauren Layne has clearly created another series that will be a constant re-read for a long time. Looking forward to reading Alexis and Logan's story!

Love Love Love!!! The 2nd book in the new Wedding Belles series was amazing! Not to avoid giving proper due to Brooke and Seth from the first book...but I really connected with Heather and Josh. Heather is finally getting her opportunity to realize her dream and become a full-fledged wedding planner with the most exclusive planners in New York City. From the trailer park in Michigan to an apartment in Manhattan and inches away from a promotion, it's finally coming together for Heather. Enter Josh Tanner, Heather's noisy new neighbor. Josh has no qualms about hosting band practice into the wee hours; however, Heather is going to set him straight about being a respectful neighbor. The sparks that flew in that first meeting were steamy and the dialog was quick and witty. It's often said that an instantaneous irritation with the opposite sex is quite often the flip-side of a strong attraction. Funny how that works. I loved how organic the development of their relationship was and the oscillation between sarcastic and witty banter and sweet heart felt bonding. These two may be one of my favorite LL couples. This story is the perfect lead-in to the story we are all waiting for....Alexis and Logan. Can't wait!!!!

Heather Fowler and Josh Tanner are fun, flirty, sexy, and just too cute for their own good - especially together!

Josh is so laid-back and fun-loving one may get confused on whether they're supposed to like him or not. Is he too laid-back? Too care-free? Not caring enough? Rude for playing his music loud at all times of the night?

Well, if you ask Heather, she'd say "all of the above." At first, that is. Before long, things get really interesting and hot, and I couldn't put it down, nor did I want it to end. I laughed - silently and out loud. I cried - happy tears, sad tears. Their relationship was smooth and natural. I loved the way Heather dealt with Josh, and vice-versa, and that was the best first kiss I've read about in a while. So unexpected, but it hadn't seem forced. They were relaxed and playful with each other, but each stayed true to who they were. No games, no falsities. Josh was conflicted in a way. He tried to live his life to the fullest after having a death scare, but he realizes that he's not really living. Heather had her whole life planned out, but her rigidity was holding her back as well. They found themselves as they discovered each other.

It was good getting reacquainted with the Belles, and I'm so excited about the next novel, which I'm hoping is about Alexis and Logan.

Heather has always wanted more out her life because she grew up the poor child of a single mother. She worked hard to go to college and eventually Heather was able to move to NYC and work as assistant wedding planner at Wedding Belles. She found a small apartment in a great neighborhood, but there unfortunately her perfect plan is complicated when her musician neighbor Josh interrupts her sleep habits. She confronts him and is surprised learn that he is attractive. Josh can't resist pushing Heather's buttons and a unusual friendship begins to develop. As they grow closer, the relationship begin to grow into more. Heather realizes that Josh is hiding a big secret, how will she react when she learns that he was an player on Wall Street before he learned he had cancer?

Lauren Layne has hit another ball out of the park! I loved both main characters were themselves and how they gradually realized the other was perfect for them. Overall if you like well written dialogue, steamy romance, and outstanding supporting characters... this is the book for you. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

This has probably been my favorite of the series so far. I was really looking forward to Heather's story since she seemed to have an aversion to love in the previous book.

Heather is an assistant wedding planner for the Wedding Belles but is really looking forward to finally making it to full wedding planner status. She's incredibly career-focused, has never been in love and doesn't seem to be looking for love either or any distractions that can keep her from accomplishing her dreams. She finally gets her shot at becoming a full-fledged wedding planner when a popular socialite hires the Wedding Belles to plan her elaborate wedding in just a short amount of time. It's a tough task to accomplish, but Heather is determined to make it happen.

Meanwhile, she's really having trouble sleeping because of her neighbor who insists on playing his music really loud late at night. Josh abandoned his corporate status after his cancer battle a while back. Instead, he's playing in a band, keeping up his playboy ways and really just taking it easy with life. He just wants to enjoy life, regardless of how much time he has left, even though he's in remission. He finds Heather incredibly attractive, but they're at each other's throats right away. Eventually they start to become friends and give into the attraction, but he doesn't want a relationship and keeps her at a distance quite a bit.

Josh's outlook on life was pretty pitiful for most of the book. He thought he was living the life he wanted, but he really wasn't living much of a life at all and didn't seem happy. Heather was all work and no play, but she began to have feelings for Josh that he didn't seem to return. They do all the things a dating could would do I suppose, so it should have been obvious that they were a couple, but unfortunately, Josh was in denial.

Things come to a critical moment in their 'relationship' and Josh messes up by pushing Heather away. His method of getting her back though was incredibly sweet and heartwarming, even if his speech/proposal was a bit sappy. But he finally gets his banana bread :-)

I absolutely freaking LOVED this story! Josh and Heather (AKA 4A and 4C) were made for each other! From the first meeting when Heather pounds on Josh's door to get him to quiet down the music to his mother making pancakes and then Josh helping to cook brunch I was falling in love right along with them. I was in a constant state of sighs and chuckles because I had such a good time reading and even shed a few tears. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and after this one I can hardly wait to find out what is in store for Alexis and Logan. I just know it is going to be good.

I highly recommend this series!

Fantastic read! Loved the writing in this entertaining, sexy, and sweet romance. Excellent pace and build. Well developed with really likable and interesting characters. So many woven details that made this story pure perfection. I couldn't put this down because I loved every minute of this story. Just thinking about this story makes me happy.

I adored Heather and Josh. Heather is so feisty and I loved all her comebacks in their flirty, snarky banter. Josh was so playful and sexy. As their chemistry gradually builds I found myself smiling and rooting for them with every encounter. Enjoyed all the secondary characters that added so much to this story. Loved Josh's mom. Loved the update on Brooke and Seth's romance from book one in the series. Adored learning and seeing more of the Belles relationship and getting to know more about Logan. It's going to kill me to wait for Alexis and Logan's story. Highly Recommended!

This is the second book in the Wedding Belles series about a group of women who have a wedding planner company. Heather started out as an assistant to Alexis but is now being given the chance to become an actual wedding planner. Her first big wedding will be a celebrity wedding and Heather is finally feeling like she is coming into her own. She has a small apartment in New York City, and is working at her dream job. This is an enemies to friends to friends with benefits to lovers story, with enough depth to the characters to make them believable and the storyline enjoyable. Josh is our H in this book, and even though he seems like a nice laid back guy, and the reader can tell he is very intrigued by Heather, you know there is more to him than initially meets the eye! I liked the depth of his (eventual) story. I have enjoyed this series by Lauren Layne and will be anxious to read Alexis's story. Thanks as always to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book for an honest opinion!

A fantastic, likable heroine and just about the cutest last line of a book ever.

Lauren Layne did the impossible: she redeemed a total douchebag frat boy manchild. I spent most of the book rolling my eyes at Josh and mentally fist-pumping whenever Heather gave him a hard time for being "an overgrown frat boy". Josh was at times self-absorbed, aimless, secretive, heartless, and childish, and yet, I closed this book with a happy sigh. Now, that's how you do a "and they lived happily ever after".

I loved Heather. This girl took no prisoners and I loved every scene where she gave Josh no quarter.

I did find myself with a wish list of sorts while reading. I wish Josh grew up faster, groveled more, and had his ILY moment earlier. That said, the final scene was so adorable and totally showed that yup, these kids were totally going to make it.

4.5 stars.

Yet another great story from Ms. Layne! <3 <3

This time we hear the story of Heather and Josh.

Heather works with the Belles as an assistant, but her goal is to become one of the wedding planners. So, in order to make her dream come true, she’s given the opportunity to plan a super important wedding on her own, if she proves she has what it takes, then the job is hers.

I have to say that I adored Heather; loved her drive to fulfill her dreams, loved her humor, loved her loyalty, I just loved her. She had a good childhood, but the lack of a father figure made her somewhat hesitant to open her heart. She had her ups and downs (the downs mostly coming from her client, lol), but she always came out on top of things. And to see her open her heart to Josh, it was a beautiful thing, because it showed us a different side of her and because she truly deserved her own HEA.

As for Josh, man did I love him. Because of a huge health situation, he realizes that life’s too short to spend it stressed out and without seeing his family; however, it also made him very afraid to form a new relationship, believing he had little time on Earth. He was funny, witty, wicked smart, and had a heart of gold. He really deserved the best girl in the world and Heather was it! It was great getting to know him better and I could really see where he was coming from even when all I wanted was for him to end up with Heather.

Great, great story, and I think my favorite in the series. :-)

Enemies to friends to friends-with-benefits to lovers. The procession from one relationship to the next is always interesting and amusing to watch. Josh and Heather were definitely both.

As enemies, they bantered like. crazy. But it was hysterical! Heather was pissed when they met. Josh was amused. I mean, she was all piss and vinegar, and he was smirks and abs. (Read it. It'll make sense, lol.) How could you not be amused by that?

But banter gave way to flirting, which changed the dynamic of their relationship. No longer enemies, they walked the road of friendship with attraction their constant companion. They learned each others strengths and weaknesses, hopes and fears. And somewhere on that walk, the attraction that grew between them snapped and engulfed them completely.

That changed their relationship once again. They were friends with benefits. And who wouldn't want that for these two? Amazing friendship. Amazing sex. An understanding of each other neither had with anyone else. But something was bound to change. Something had to change.

For me, there was a sense of urgency at this point in the story. A desire for more but a fear that outweighed it. And it wasn't Heather. It was Josh. Surprising for a man who'd survived cancer, but not surprising because he did survive cancer. What if it comes back? What if it's worse? What if? What if? What if?

I'm thirty-five and I stopped worrying about "What if?" in my early twenties. I got gray hair from it. I lost sleep from it. I gained weight from it. The worry "What if?" caused was so unnecessary. I decided then that I couldn't do it, couldn't put that kind of pressure on myself. I really needed to trust that everything would work out, even if the end result wasn't what I expected it to be.

I wanted that for Josh. More than I wanted a happy ending for this couple, I wanted Josh to step outside of "What if?" and really start living. His day-to-day approach was only going to work for a time. The emptiness he didn't know was inside of him would eventually be large enough for him to notice and then what? Would he ignore it and keep doing what he was doing? Or would he change course and look for fulfillment?

I guess you could say that Fate's funny that way. She seemed to know it was time for him to meet someone who would make him question his lifestyle and reach for something more.

Though I've read stories by Ms. Layne before and have come to expect certain things from her, I was still greatly pleased by this story. It's lighthearted and humorous, but also thought-provoking and emotional. The best of all worlds, if you ask me, and a great addition to my contemporary romance library.

As a wedding planner, it’s difficult to keep your own opinion to yourself and focus solely on the client and help make their dreams come true. But what do you do when your very first solo client demands a no holds barred, black-tie affair to occur within only a few months and gives you carte blanche to make it happen? Do you give in to the exhaustion stemming from non-stop wedding planning activities or do you give in to the exhilaration from losing sleep due to your gorgeous neighbor’s apartment at all hours of the night? Heather Fowler hasn’t quite decided.

Josh Tanner made a fortune on Wall Street, he was a type-A workaholic until his legs were knocked out from underneath him when he was diagnosed with cancer. Now in remission, Josh spends his days and nights letting loose with his band mates and keeping his pretty neighbor awake. Will Josh and his free-wheeling ways help Heather realize there’s more to life that work? And will Heather convince Josh that planning for the future and falling in love is just as amazing as living for today?

I really enjoyed this second book in the Wedding Belles series. Heather was an absolute delight—strong willed and focused on following her dream and making it in New York City. Josh is adorable and gorgeously hot too. He escaped from the rat race and put himself and his health first, but he’s searching for a little more—maybe that little more is Heather. They’re so much fun together too, with their witty banter and Josh’s continuous requests for banana bread. No, that’s not a euphemism. I was fully invested in their romance, understood their hesitancy and rooted for both of them to drop their walls. And that ending. Swoon. Can’t wait for Alexis and Logan’s story next!

Oh my gosh, this book was exactly what I was looking for right now! So sweet, romantic, funny, something to put a smile on my face - it was just fabulous!

Both main characters were wonderful, but I have to say it was Josh Tanner who really wormed his way into my heart. After a somewhat rocky start (I really didn't love the first scene between him and Heather - in fact, it had me scoffing and doing the eye roll thing!) I was not expecting to like him so much! But honestly, I dare anyone to read this book and NOT like him - it's impossible! Mostly, Josh acts like a big kid, which can be appealing on a certain level, but not so much to Heather. It drove her absolutely NUTS, which was so funny to see! It may have been lust at first sight, but there was definitely no love between the two of them.

I also really loved the plot for this book, as well. The idea of Heather working so hard to make her way independently in the world made her an empathetic character to me. The idea of an independently wealthy genius of a guy who almost lost his life to cancer and is living every moment as if it could be his last also drew me in. The fact that Josh is a musician on top of all that just makes him even more attractive, in my mind! Will Josh and Heather be able to meet in the middle, compromise somehow, in order to have a future together? Read for yourself to see how "For Better or Worse" pans out, I don't think you'll be disappointed! As for my reading plans, I already have the next in the series queued up - this is definitely one series I don't want to miss a moment of!

Champagne, high heels, wedding plans, Manhattan address, and Sunday brunches are all part of the lifestyle Heather had dreamt about most of her life. Living the 'champagne culture' to the fullest - "live like you want to be living, not like you should be living" - she finally gains the access to the address as well, only to find out it comes with an annoying neighbor, obsessed with banana bread.
The story is well written, it flows like the champagne the characters enjoy, filled with pop culture references, New York living, and life goal achievements, there's nothing that can stop the Belles from gaining what the want.
I adored Josh's mom, she was so down to earth, caring lady, with tons of wit and smarts.
Josh was not easy to like. Several times in the story he is referred to an ass, acting like he is eighteen, an overgrown fratboy etc. And each time I agreed, he is arrogant, immature, presumptuous, rude... Yes, he has gone through hell in his life, I understand him there, but that doesn't excuse his behavior now. If for once he would have apologized when walking all over people, I might have grown a little warmer to him, but he was above that kind of regrets.
Josh and Heather built their relationship on banter, ribbing, and sexual attraction. One open conversation between them, where they are fully honest and sincere with each other, could have made a better case for them as a couple, and could have built some trust in-between them. Even though just between neighbors, the repartee was fun.
When it comes to romance stories, my big thing is no flirts, other people, after the hero and heroine first meet/feel the attraction towards each other, not even to make the other jealous. And both Heather and Josh fail here. But, like everything else I have said, it is just me. The old truth 'it's me, not you' stands well with this tale. As I read the story, it was pouring off the pages, the writing is engaging, the storyline alluring, the references to Sex in The City, Friends, Gilmore Girls, The Wedding Planner, all made it familiar for those who has watched the shows. The glamor, charisma of that New York lifestyle is there, and it is tempting, so I can see this story and series being loved and admired by many, even if it wasn't for my taste buds. The seductiveness, fascination, and charm of the glamorous life of rich and successful in New York is the draw and appeal that many find hard to resist.

Heather Fowler has always dreamt of working and living in Manhattan. Now that dream is a reality, she's the assistant wedding planner and has a nice apartment. The problem, her neighbor who is playing loud music at 2 in the morning.
Josh Tanner was a successful hedge fund planner, but a cancer diagnosis made him look at life more closely. Now he's quit his firm and is a playboy musician.
Heather and Josh meet when she bangs on his door at 2am asking him to stop the music and there are sparks. Their interactions for full of quips and banter that had me in splits. I knew when they give in to their attraction there will be fireworks and I was not disappointed :)).
It's a sweet and sexy romance that's full of friendship, romance, and vulnerability that is really hard to put down and yeah leave you craving for banana bread :)).

Heather, a small town girl, has always dreamed of working and living in New York City. As soon as she graduated from college she moved to her dream city. Now in an apartment in the prime location, she has one last goal before achieving her dream. She must get everything perfect with this next wedding so she can move from assistant to a bonafide wedding planner. But there is one tiny problem - her new neighbor, Josh, is in a band and refuses to stop playing his music in the middle of the night. If Heather can't get her sleep, she might mess up the wedding of the year.

This story started out with lots of fun and kept the pace up the entire book. There were some serious moments, but the feel of the book for me was fun and romance. The author did a great job of creating tension between the two main characters. They both meshed well together, making for a believable spark of chemistry. I liked how she tied in the other members of The Wedding Belles so we could get a glimpse into what was happening since we last read about them. This was a good addition to the series and I can't wait to read the next one.

I received this book free of charge. I was not compensated for writing this review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This is book # 2 in The Wedding Belles series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading the series in order.

Josh is seriously attracted to the angry slash feisty neighbor who tells him to turn down his noise. Can Heather convince him that she needs his help? Planning the wedding of the year is a daunting task. Unless you have an inside track....

Seriously a fun and sexy series. This story was no different. There is this kitchen scene where the moment is so sweet .... and yet they turn up the heat and it gets HOT! Just like any Lauren Layne book, it comes with surprises, laughter, and heat. Are you ready?

For Better or Worse follows Heather Fowler and Josh Tanner. Recently promoted, Heather, cannot deal with her ‘frat boy’ neighbour, Josh’s, late night music sessions. An interesting first meet turns into an unlikely friendship…and maybe something even more.

I adored For Better or Worse! Heather is a sweetheart and I felt really bad for her when her first client turned out to be a not so great person. I loved her independent and feisty nature; I could relate to her need for a good job acknowledgment. Josh is a cinnamon roll and he needs to be protected by all things (including but not limited to cancer). He is fun, smart, sexy (obviously), and understanding.

The bond between Josh and Heather is really special, I couldn’t help but root for them from the very start. They may have had a rocky start, but their friendship grew and blossomed to something extraordinary. It wasn’t a typical friends with benefits trope, it was done with sheer brilliance thus almost removing the tag.

This is one of those books that you start and cannot put down. It actually got me out of my slump. So, I was on this really bad slump (haven’t read anything for weeks) and I got approved for this. I decided to give it a go, and next thing I knew the day and night flew by and I wanted more. I didn’t want it to end, I just really needed more.

I, for one, cannot wait for Alexis and Logan’s book, I am literally counting the days. WHY CAN’T YOU COME SOONER, OCTOBER?? I NEED YOU NOW!

The Wedding Belles Series by Lauren Layne is one of my favorite contemporary set of newly released romance novels. For the most part, the stories they tell are mostly believable. THat is often not something you find when reading a romance novel. While that is fine, it’s also really refreshing to read something like For Better or Worse where the characters are messy, not perfectly put together and have real problems.

Heather Fowler is living her dream. At least she’s living the dream to get her to her dream. She works for The Wedding Belles wedding planning salon in New York City. She has helped with weddings, but never planned a wedding by herself (with the help of the bride, of course). She has a new apartment and is so close to achieving one of her goals.

Josh Tanner is a former Hedge Fund manager and basically slacks off all day and plays in his band at night - much to the irritation of his new neighbor in 4C, none other than Heather Fowler. These two clash, argue and flirt. A classic combination. While you can see where the story is going right away, this book takes you on a small journey along with the characters as they get to know each other.

The first bride Heather gets stuck with is a spoiled socialite who wants nothing to do with the planning of her own wedding, while still expecting it to be perfect. There are some unexpected parts of this story, funny parts and parts that will pull your heart-string. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in The Wedding Belles that I have read so far and look forward to more in the future.

Loved the banter between Josh and Heather! It was a bit of a love/hate relationship at the beginning, but these two eventually figured it out. Josh was so stubborn, I wanted to smack him a few times throughout the book. Good thing he was the perfect combination, (at least for me), of nerdy and sexy with this love of numbers and music. I loved Heather's determination, she was just what Josh needed to get him out of his funk. And the title fits the book perfectly! As far as the Belles go, they are a great bunch and I am dying for Alexis and Logan story - I have a feeling that one is going to be explosive!

I'm enjoying this series. Talk about a dream job. Planning weddings. It's all Heather ever wanted to do. She is a strong independent woman with just a little bit of insecurity. She gets her first on your wedding to plan, but her neighbor, Josh is all about having fun which includes his band playing loudly late into the night. When she finally has had enough she bangs on his door to discover he is HOT! but annoying. They begin an uneasy "friendship" that includes lots of banter which I love. Josh has a secret and he doesn't want to talk about it and has no intention of being in any sort of relationship. Watching this couple fall and the banter between get better and better was perfect. This series is sweet, hot and fun. Looking forward to book

For Better or Worse is a flirty lighter read then some I have read by Lauren Layne. It still has her wonderful style and snazzy dialogue. This series shows another side to the author’s work, even with her signature strong, independent female lead. I say must show because I haven’t read book one in the series. No matter since there was no problem enjoying this lovely story of Josh and Heather.

I am a fan of Lauren Layne’s novels but would not recommend this book unless I thought it was worth the cost. It definitely is that and more. See wedding planners up close and personal in For Better or Worse.

Totally wonderful read. I really enjoyed all the pent up angst and sparring that went on between Heather, the cute and perky wedding planner, and Josh, the irresistibly sexy musician. They lived right next door to each other in a NYC apartment complex, which added a sweet and lively dimension to the storyline, especially when Josh's mother dropped in without notice!

I enjoyed how Josh and Heather's relationship grew, little by little, day by day. This book captivated my attention so much, I just savored every word. The characters were very well developed and the conversation was witty and charming.

Another LL gem. Heather has been with The Wedding Belles as an assistant for some time and now she has been promoted to her dream job. Josh had a major scare five years ago so now he lives every bit of his life as one should.

It didn’t take me long to fall for Heather and Josh. Their banter was so good that at one point I felt content for this whole story to just be about them together with a few sprinkles of Josh’s mother here and there. There were times where I felt like Josh was being unfair to Heather but I got it. He wasn’t so terrible that I started to feel any ill will so that’s good.

Overall I really enjoyed their story, that ending was perfect for them.

For Better or Worse was my favorite Wedding Belles volume so far. Heather and Josh's story was just so fun, even though it had a twinge of sadness under all of the fun, flirty banter. I like this series, because like all of Layne's books, center around a group of close-knit friends. Besides the super cute plot, spot-on pacing, and overall flirty feel of the book, Heather and Josh really completed this 4 1/2 star book for me. This is a great series to get into and it will help you find your inner wedding planner! This was an ARC copy.

This book was AWESOME! The dialogue between the two main characters was sharp and hilarious. The banter between the two had me either smiling or laughing out loud on several occasions. Characters were well developed, each with their own personality. Scene description, very good and not overdone.

The sex scenes were...*fans self*...intense.

Towards the end, there are a couple chapters (NO SPOILERS HERE) that had me in tears. If you want to know if they are happy or sad tears, well, you'll have to read it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

When a writer can evoke emotion from the reader, that's how you know they're good. And Lauren Layne is very good!

Heather Fowler's dream of being a successful wedding planner is about to happen. But, with the lack of sleep from 4A band practice and the lack of the bride's hands on has Heather on edge. What now! This story is sexy, funny and full of character and just what Heather and Josh need.
For Better of Worse: The Wedding Belles by Lauren Layne is a new to me author and read. And becoming one of my favorite's. Looking forward to continue and catch up with the series.

I truly enjoyed this story as Heather Fowler, a small town girl finally is promoted from an assistant the elite status of Wedding Belles wedding planner. I loved the enter action between Heather and her next door neighbor, Josh Tanner as bells ring out when she stomps to his door when his music awakens her. I Liked Josh's take charge attitude when he kicked cancer and amended his playboy ways and devoted himself to his music but one look at Heather's workaholic ways, he hoped that he could slow her down even to smell the roses!

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. Since there are quite a few reviews that cover the plot line of this novel, I'm not going to rehash it. All I have to say is anything with Lauren Layne as the author is worth reading, but only if you like witty banter, lots of flirting, some relationship angst and some steamy scenes! All I need to see is the author's name and I read. I think you should too!

For "Better or Worse" is an absolute MUST read book of 2016! Book #2 in Lauren Layne's "Wedding Belles" series is sweet, sultry, and everything-in-between. If you love banana bread, loud music, pursuing your dreams, falling in love, planning a wedding, close-knit families, tell-it-like-it-is-truths, or undeniable chemistry, this book is for you. Another great read by Lauren Layne. Can't wait for book #3 in this incredible series.

There's loads of bantering and sarcasm, not to mention chemistry between the two and it makes the reading time fly by. Their relationship was super cute to watch come together. I'm hooked on Lauren Layne's writing anyway, but when you have such a fun group of people like the Wedding Belles? Well... it makes a girl want to start planning some weddings in NYC.

Another enjoyable romance in the Wedding Belles series, For Better or Worse, features a sassy assistant wedding planner, Heather, and her noisy neighbor, Josh. Josh and his bandmates practice in his apartment and that doesn't work for Heather. Josh and Heather are instantly attracted to each other but for their own reasons fight it. Fun romance read with a twist!

I love this series so much. Lauren Layne writes in such a way that you are instantly pulled into the story. For Better of Worse is the second book in the Wedding Belles series but can be read as a stand alone.

Heater & Josh are such a entertaining couple..... their first meeting is funny!!

Can't wait for the next book in this series.

Josh really is something else, “no, I begged you to tell me that you masturbated. Willing it to be true is not the same as asking a woman if she did. That would be rude.” I loved this book, Josh could be so annoying at times but he was perfect for Heather.

For Better or Worse was my favourite in the entire series. Heather and Josh made for a great couple and the character growth was nice to see. I also loved seeing the bromance between the guys and when the entire Wedding Belle gang was together. Can't wait for the next book! This was a great read!
