Written by well-loved Max Lucado, this book is designed for children 0-2 years old. It is a short book, filled with bright illustrations of Litter Hermie the caterpillar. Throughout Hermie's day in simple poetic format, he remembers to thank God for all the blessings he encounters. What I thought was rather creative about this book is that the pictures seem to tell an additional story. Hermie eats breakfast, then goes to play ball with his friends. Unfortunately, Hermie loses the game to Wormie, yet despite that, he is thankful for his friends and asks the Lord to help him to be kind and obedient. Over all it's a simple, short book designed to teach thankfulness to tiny tots.

Their were a couple things I didn't really like about the book. One was the poem; it's really poor poetry with inconsistent meter and weird rhyme pattern. Now most people (especially small children and babies) won't care, but why not extend quality to all ages? Also, I wish the book was a little longer (it consists of a total of 10 pages) because the illustrations are so darling; they really make the book worth while, and I like the idea of teaching thankfulness to children of all ages. I suppose it's short because 21st century children are supposed to have short attention spans.

Even though the poetry did disappoint me, the book is cute and I will read it to my beautiful baby girl when she gets big enough to see the pictures.

This book was given to me by Thomas Nelson publishers as part of their Booksneeze program. I am writing my own unbiased review.

I chose to review "Thank you, God, for blessing me" by Max Lucado because we are trying to work with Miss Mack on more than just the "standard" nightly prayer. First, I read through the book and LOVED it, and then I called her over to read it to me. She thought the illustrations were cute and loved the prayer! While many of the things Hermie prays for are things we already tell her to count as her blessings, the line about being kind and obeying being a way of showing God that we are thankful was very meaningful to her.

I like this book because it's one that I can enjoy with my 6 year old and with the 2 year old. Sometimes, it's hard to find books we can curl up with and share without Mack being bored by the easy to comprehend subject or Bubba getting upset because there aren't any pictures.

This book is going to wind up being a Christmas gift for a few people!

"In everything gives thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thess. 5:18 (NASB)

This is a cute book on teaching our preschoolers about prayer and being thankful for everything. It is an easy read and the graphics are beautiful. Teaching our children about prayer and thanksgiving is an important aspect of their lives. Beginning young will ensure a positive foundation.

Thank You, God, for blessing me is available also in a e-book format so if your youngster needs a little distraction, reading this little book via your Android phone or tablet is ideal.

The perfect birthday gift!

Oh, I like this book! Thank you, God, for blessing me, from Max Lucado, it is absolutely lovely! It features Hermie the little caterpillar, the book is short 4-5 pages, perfect for baby or toddler to carry around!

The verse is so sweet reminding all of God's creatures to be thankful for our many blessings. The illustrations are fun with lots of colour. We like all of the Hermie books and this is no exception. Thank you, God, for blessing me is a great way to start your child off noticing all they have to be thankful for.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review from the publisher. All opinions are mine.

Children are not born automatically knowing how to show thanks. Teaching thankfulness must start at the youngest of ages. Therefore, I'm of the belief that it's never too young to start teaching these types of traits in children. Parents, of course, teach by example but there's more to instilling gratitude that just having children watch their parents. Reading aloud to children is such a wonderful time for parents and children to bond. This book is perfect for a bit of snuggle time while providing examples of things to be thankful for.

"Thank You God for Blessing Me" by Max Lucado is a short book; just perfect for the short attention spans of our little ones. To be honest I read it and, as if in a blink of an eye, I was done with it. At first I thought it was way too short. However, trying to put myself in the shoes of young children (and I must admit that at my age I'm stretching to think back that far!) this book is probably a perfect length.

This is one of the books from the Hermie series by Mr. Lucado. Hermie is the little caterpillar that, in this title, is thankful for not just the big things in his life but the little things too. The illustrations are engaging and eye grabbing for the young child. The bright colors are appealing and the childlike qualities in the drawings are darling.

I feel this book is an excellent tool to help parents and other caregivers teach appropriate expressions of gratitude and gratefulness. Also, I believe that Thank You God for Blessing Me would be an excellent addition to libraries; public, school and church where young children or their parents frequent.

I was given a free download of this eBook from Book Sneeze, in order to write my unbiased review of it.

I recieved the e-book version of the newest addition to the Hermie series, Little Hermie, so the pictures I viewed were in black and white but just by looking at the cover I can tell this book is alive with vivid color and illustrations. If you are familiar with Hermie, he's the catepillar who longs to have a heart after God and introduces children to God's truths straight from the Bible.

This Little Hermie addition is no different, introducing an even younger crowed to the wonders of the Lord and giving them an understanding of God on their level so that as they grow their knowledge can grow as well. It's a child's book written on a child's level so if you're looking for a deep theological book for your infant/young toddler this isn't it, but if you're looking for a book that can help to start opening the doors of faith and the wonder of being a Christian this is a great place to start.

Max Lucado has taken his beloved character Hermie and written a little Hermie book for preschoolers. "Thank you, God, for Blessing Me" is little Hermie's prayer of thanks for all the blessings that God has given him. A very short but poignant prayer that preschoolers can relate to and copy. Little Hermie is thankful for everything from personal needs to friends. Even though it is a short book, parents can take time with their preschooler to expand on being thankful for the things God has specifically given them. I love the pictures and the front cover caught the eye of my three-year-old right away. She enjoyed just looking at the pictures even before I read the book. Thankfulness can be taught to very young children, and this is an excellent book to help with that lesson. I am sure we will be reading it often. I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Tommy Nelson, a division of Thomas Nelson Publishers, through their Booksneeze blogger program in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Little Hermie is caterpillar. Little Hermie is also the star in a series of adorable little books for toddlers written by established author and speaker Max Lucado.
Little Hermie demonstrates to toddlers how to be thankful for everything God has blessed them. As Little Hermie "looks around and smiles at all he sees," he begins to pray.
Thank You, God, For Blessing Me is a prayer from Little Hermie thanking God for his many blessings including food, eyesight, friends, family, flowers, stars and playtime. He also asks God to help him be kind and obey. Very cute and well illustrated little book.

Thank You, God, For Blessing Me!
by Max Lucado

A very colorful board book with delightful illustrations that reminds us that God has blessed us in so many ways! It further shows us our responsibility to live a life that pleases God, so we can show Him our appreciation of His many blessings.

I feel that it is so important to instill thankfulness in children. So many times in life we forget to stop and thank God for the beautiful world that He prepared for us, family, friends, the daily provisions, and His greatest gift the plan of salvation!

Max Lucado's new Little Hermie books Thank You, God, for Loving Me and Thank You, God, for Blessing Me are precious board books that are sure to be the perfect addition to your child's library. The pictures are colorful and the sweet rhymes on each page teach preschoolers about God. Thank You, God, for Blessing Me teaches children that all things come from God, and Thank You, God, for Loving Me teaches children about God's great love for them.

I received the opportunity through Booksneeze to review a digital copy of the book "Thank You, God, For Blessing Me" by, Max Lucado. First of all, I have to say that I love any of Max Lucado's books for kids. I am sure that his Biblical studies books are excellent too, but I have a certain love for children's books and therefore have read a lot of his books and have never been disappointed. This book did not disappoint either. When I first downloaded the book for my Kindle I thought that I had not gotten the entire book as it is VERY short; so don't expect an average amount of pages. It is meant as a board book style (minimal pages) and is formed in the way of a prayer for young children. This book looks at the popular Hermie caterpillar character and follows his bedtime prayer as he prays for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon him. The book kept my 2 year old daughter entertained with its rhyming nature and adorable illustrations. I would recommend this book to anyone with young children or are beginning to teach a child to pray. It will be a book that my daughter will love for a long time. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review through Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers.

By Max Lucado and Illustrated By Frank Endersby (Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2011)

This sweet children's book takes both readers and listeners on a fun journey through Hermie's day as he sees the blessings God has bestowed in his life and he thanks God for them. The wonderful illustrations dazzled on every page bring the message of this story alive.

Bound in a pillow-top hardcover, this book is the perfect size for small children's hands to hold. This book would make a beautiful bedtime story or anytime read; this book would also make a great gift idea.

I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "Thank you, God, for blessing me" by Max Lucado from Tommy Nelson Publishing as part of the Booksneeze book review program. The opinions below are my honest opinion of the book.
This adorable board book from Max Lucado is from the Little Hermie series. The story is written in rhyme and is wonderful for younger children. Little Hermie is thanking God for all the little things in his life. He thanks Him for having enough food to eat, the beautiful flowers around him, his friends, and many other blessings in his life. The illustrations are adorable and go well with each page. This is a wonderful reminder for preschool age children to learn how to thank God even for the little things they may not think to thank Him for. My children both loved this book including my five year old. She even enjoyed it and it made for a wonderful bedtime story to go to bed thanking God for the things Little Hermie was thankful for.

This sweet little book is perfect for the younger crowd. It's a very short book that flows well and teaches that we can and should thank God for everything that we have, from things we touch like our food to things about ourselves like our feet. He thanks God for his friends and asks God to help him be thankful as a way to give thanks.

The illustrations were detailed and descriptive. The words were simple enough but not overly simplified. I liked the prayer and the pattern that it had, a good pattern to teach our children: to be thankful for all we have and can do, for all God has made for us, and asking for help to be thankful and obey.

The only thing I wish is that it was longer! I guess I'll have to wait for another "Little Hermie" book...

I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson publishing in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thank You, God, for Blessing Me By: Max Lucado

Max Lucado's latest children's book Thank You, God, for Blessing Me is the perfect bedtime story for toddlers and pre-schoolers. The beautiful artwork and Lucado's story are a great pair and follow Hermie, a catapillar as he thanks God for everything he has received throughout his day.
This story is written for young kids to be able to understand how much God gives us on a regular day and that we should remember to thank God for all of the blessings He has brought to each of us. Kids will love the character of Hermie and his friends and is a great set of children's books to add to any collection.

I've previously reviewed a Little Hermie book and loved it, so I jumped at the opportunity to review a different title. These books are so cute. The illustrations, the rhymes, everything. After spending some time in a third world country, I have a huge passion to instill thankfulness and gratefulness into my kids. This book helps me to do just that. Hermie thanks God for his home, food, family and friends. I don't think you could ever teach thankfulness to little ones too early, or too often!

Thank you, God, for blessing me Max Lucado

This small but wonderful little book is a blessing. Max Lucado has created some endearing characters with the Hermie "franchise" and with nice artwork accompanying it, it is wrapped up in a nice solid truth from the Bible. It is set to rhyme, and is a board book, that is in a nice little package. My two and a half year old enjoys the story and the art, the length is good, she usually has me read it a couple times a sitting. Ideally I would say age 4-7 will get the best target audience for this book.

I enjoy the way Max sculpts a story. whether long or short and to apply that gift to kids stories is such a gift for parents and their kids. I have read a couple of these books for his and an anxious to get the rest he has and will do.

This book was provided to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review, which was given.

This book by Max Lucado is a great little children's book about thanking God for everything we have. We sometimes watched Hermie the cute little caterpillar and his friends on T.V. The kids 3 and 7 loves it.
I give this a 4 star because it is too short. Even the 3 year old wants more.
In this book, Hermie thank God for his friends, food and everyhing that God has given him.
I got this book free from Booksneeze in exchange for an honest review.

Another installment of Max Lucado's Hermie series. Wonderfully illustrated and sweet content. It is sure to please children and adults alike. Easy for children to read and a sweet prayer for the whole family. Hermie shows young children how God has blessed him through the little things in Hermie's life. A great lesson for the entire family!

My only complaint was that it wasn't longer.

Lately, at bedtime, I've been teaching my two year old daughter to pray. We started with simple things--just thanking Jesus for all the things in her life that she loves and she really grew to look forward to that. She knows exactly what to do now when I say, "Let's pray." Now, we're moving on to learning how to just talk to God about her day and all the things she did and experienced in addition to thanking Jesus for every blessing she enjoys. Teaching a child about prayer and their relationship with God at such a young age is imperative in my opinion, because it's when their faith is the most simple and uninhibited. "Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matt 19:14)

Thank You God for Blessing Me by Max Lucado is a lovely little board book that does just what my daughter needs most right now--it teaches about prayer. With beautifully water colored illustrations it takes children through little Hermie the caterpillar's simple prayer to God, thanking Him for all the blessings in his life. It not only gives a great model for prayer, but teaches the reader to really be thankful for all God has given them, and to count their blessings. It's also a simple enough book with clear enough pictures that my daughter can pick it up and narrate it herself--either by making up her own story, or repeating the words it contains because she's heard them so often. This is definitely a book I'd recommend for parents of small children who are just learning to appreciate books for the first time, and who are also old enough to start to pray on their own.

Booksneeze gave me this book for free in exchange for my un-biased review. The opinions expressed here are all my own.

Thanks to BookSneeze, I was given the opportunity to review the e-book Thank You, God, For Blessing Me by Max Lucado free of charge in exchange for an honest review. The pictures were colorful and cute, and the message was simple...being thankful for the big and little things that are provided in life. The only con to the book is how incredibly short it is! I wouldn't want to spend more than $1.99 for an e-book version of it. But despite being really short, it has been read quite often at our house. The upside to it being short is that my 18 month old will actually stay still long enough to finish it. And my 6 year old even enjoyed it, which surprised me because I thought she would find it boring. It made for a good discussion after reading it though. I hope that they continue on with the Little Hermie series because it is quite cute.

A very sweet little book. It's a child's book about Little Hermie, meant to be read and shared by a parent. The wonderful little caterpillar returns and in it he gives thanks to God for all the things he has given him. It's a great read and will help younger children (and older) learn how to pray.

Our family was given this adorable Children's E-Book (ages 2-7) to review, written by Mac Lucado. Thank You, God, For Blessing Me is a perfect little bedtime story because it is written like a prayer (I think the last page should say "Amen!"). In this book, Hermie thanks God for everything be has: friends, family, shelter, food and the beauty of the world around him. He also asks God for help in being kind and obeying because "It's how I say 'thank you, God,' in a very special way." I think this is a great way to begin the explanation of our response to our salvation.

Having never picked up one of Lucado's Hermie books before, I was excited to see what they were like. We read the story at bedtime - it was the perfect prayer to end our day! We all really loved the message of this book. It is written as a prayer Hermie says at the end of the day. It would be a wonderful new prayer to learn and say ourselves!

The illustrations, done by Frank Endersby, are absolutely adorable! Detailed drawings using vibrant colors to hold the attention of little ones - some of the cutest little bugs I've ever seen. The boys love anything having to do with bugs, so Thing Two enjoyed pointing out all the different bug characters to us. They have already asked for "the Hermie book" several times since our first read - so I know it was a hit!

The boys enjoyed the fun of reading a book on the computer (though I personally prefer real books for the kids to hold). I would recommend Thank You, God, For Blessing Me to family and friends with children - it would make a great gift for kids who are learning to say their own bedtime prayers!

This is a very cute little prayer book for children. Hermie the caterpillar is thanking God for all the good things in his life. The prayer is short, sweet, and to the point.

I liked this little book, as did my almost 3 year old. She smiled at the pastel colored pictures and seem to love what it said. (She has apraxia, so she is unable to "tell" me with words what she thought). She asked me to read it again (by pointing at it and then at herself). I think this is now a favorite! Max Lucado has a great knack for speaking to adults and children alike. His newer book, Thank you, God, for Blessing Me, is no exception. It's a sweet little book that helps remind children to thank God for all the daily things in life. From friends, family, food, everything around him, and even his "little buggy feat". One of my favorite pages in this rhyming board book asks God to help him be kind, obey and remember to say thank you. The pictures and colors are wonderful for young children, and I enjoy them myself as well! It's the perfect size for my child to hold and flip through the wonderfully illustrated pages as we read together and are both reminded to thank God for each blessing around us, big and small. I would recommend this book for children just starting to listen to parents read to them through early elementary.

Disclaimer: I recieved a free copy of this book from booksneeze for a review. This review is mine and mine alone, I was not expected to give a good review.

Thank You, God For Blessing Me, by Max Lucado, is a children's book about a little caterpillar named Hermie praising God for all the blessing that he has gotten. It would be good for any child up to probably about 10 years old.

I like this book. Wasn't quite as impressed with this one as I have been with other books written in the Hermie series books. However, I think this is more a gift book or a way to teach a child about giving Jesus thanks for everything we have. Also would be a great book to help teach thankfulness at thanksgiving for everything that they have.

Like I said I liked this book for the content. My 2 year old son was not nearly as impressed. He looked at it for a few minutes and then tossed it on the floor. This is of course after only reading it once, with him I have to repeat the readings before he begins liking a book.

I rate this book a 6 out of 10.

As a parent of young ones I know how difficult it can be to discuss these matters with your children, but Max Lucado has just provided you with a great starting point. So why not check this out and follow his lead.

The story is about Little Hermie, a caterpillar, saying his prayers and thanking God for all the ways that he has been blessed. This book would be especially appropriate for a parent teaching a very young child about prayers and showing gratitude to God.

This book is adorable. Little Hermie is the cutest little guy, and his "grateful prayer" is so cute. The illustrations are simple and adorable. In the book, Hermie thanks God for his bed, his "yummy food", his eyes and feet, and his friends and family. He asks God for help being kind and obedient. I think this is such a perfect way to let kids see what thankful prayers should be like. Sometimes when adults pray and thank God for things, we don't remember to thank Him for the small and simple things that kids are so profoundly grateful for. I think as great a resource as this is for teaching children, it's a wonderful way for parents to become more like their children, and truly thank God for blessing us.

My daughter really liked this book. The pictures are super cute and the story line is great. It really was a great book to show my daughter the true things to be thankful for.
We now read it every night at bed time and she points out all the pictures of what I am reading. We than say our prayers and say what we are thankful for that God has given us.
Great book and I would recommend to anyone with young children, that want to learn more about what to be thankful for and how to feel blessed.

Ok... First of all: This book is ADORABLE! :)

This story is about a sweet little caterpillar who shares with us his prayer of thanks to God for all his blessings. He gives thanks for the little things in his life that matter to him and make his life whole, things that most people probably take for granted each day!

I think it's great to see a children's book like that! One that has cute illustrations to capture their attention while introducing a character they can love and a concept they definitely need to learn early! Gratefulness!

If I had any gripes they would be:

1) This book is too short!! I wanted it to be longer and as I was reading it to my kiddos it only felt like a half a second before the book was over. Every night when my kids go to sleep, we try to talk about what they were thankful for during the day and after doing this for a while now, I know there are plenty more things that toddlers and children THINK to be thankful for. This book could have included some other things as well and kept us in story land for a little while longer!

Short books for moms, in my opinion are no good. Kids LOVE to sit on your lap and listen for a while when the story is good! This story is good enough to have been longer!

2) I am sad I got the E-Book version and not the print. I am kicking myself now because this is one book I would have liked to kept on their book shelf in their bedroom for them to pull out and look at or read whenever they wanted to! Books like these need to be in the hands of children, not the E-Readers of parents... Hidden from them and only gotten out when parents have the convenience.

Overall... great book! Great concept! Awesome illustrations... just a little too short! :D

Thank You, God, for Blessing Me, by Max Lucado, is a very sweet prayer of Thanksgiving, from the beloved character, Hermie. Hermie gives Thanks to God for some of the special things in his life. Each page is brilliantly illustrated, and the prayer is written in the form of a rhyme that children can remember as the story is read to them time and again. This is a cute children's book about a caterpillar named Hermie. It was a sweet book, written as a poem about things Hermie wants to thank God for. Hermie was thankful for many every day things: food, friends, family. It's a short book (5 pages) with bright, colorful illustrations. I didn't realize that it was for a very young audience, my oldest son was definitely too old for the book (he's 3.5).

I had hoped the book would inspire my son of some things to be thankful for when I ask him each night when I ask him what we should thank God for. Sadly, he was not too into the book and would only let me read it once. I wish the book was a bit longer, it might have interested him more. The book is definitely for the 2 and under crowd but since this is an e-book I won't be reading it to my 1 year old in that format anytime soon.

I received this book throught ThomasNelson's BookSneeze program in exchange for an honest review of the material. I can honestly say that this little board book is a well written, super easily understood, introduction for parents who want to teach their kids about God at an early age.

As a parent of young ones I know how difficult it can be to discuss these matters with your children, but Max Lucado has just provided you with a great starting point. So why not check this out and follow his lead.
