Good to help us understand problems an abused child can have in the foster care system. All the true story books Dave wrote about his life should be read by anyone who cares about child abuse and wants it stopped.

I absolutely LOVED this book. This book tell you about 12 years of age to 18 years of age of Dave Pelzer's childhood after he got rescued from his alcoholic and abusive mother. The book tells you
VERY LITTLE bit that Dave Pelzer did NOT put in the last book of the trilogy, A child called it. And
I mean little bit like 6 pages. Rest of the book is about being in foster care and how much the foster
parents helped him. It' a great book I really recomend reading it.

It really is unbelievable that any mother could torture her own flesh & blood like she did this innocent child,
or that a spineless father could stand back & let it happen. It made me appreciate my childhood more, my
children & my g-children. Hard to read, made me cry.

i aws at first very skeptical about buying a used book. i didnt want it to be torn and written in. this book came in pretty great condition. no tears or pen/highlighter marks anywhere. and its definitely a book you need to read if you read & liked A Child Called It.

A great true story. Tears will fall. It makes you grateful for your life and your children's life. I read it a long time ago and I bought it for my son to read for a biography. He cried and was very moved by the horror that a child went through. My son is very mature for his age and is very sympathetic for others. Not for a young reader.

Very good book!!!! This book was sad but there was an happy ending to his life. I strong recommended this book to any one who loves to read. I can relate to his life because I personally grow up in foster care myself. I started growing in foster care at the age of six (6) years old til about eighteen (18).

I love all the Dave Plezer books. I started reading these books my senior year in high school in 2003, however, my school library didn't have all the sequels to the books. As I reread it now later in life, it had me want to major in Social Work. The book if filled with such heartbreaking emotion.

A very compelling story. It is hard to imagine what Dave Pelzer went through as a child and even harder to understand how he managed to make something of his life. I read this book many years ago, but recently re-read it for a school assignment. This series of books should be a must read for anyone contemplating a career in child advocacy/intervention.

I liked all the detailed information and emotions.
I would recommend this book to my nephew and anyone who lived. of survived an abusive childhood. I am curious of the mother of Steven. Were you married?
