I really liked this book and am completely excited for next one.(I hope there is a next one it does says book 1 hopefully for a reason) Going to be seriously disappointed if not! "Small spoilers ahead"....Ok with that said, if your a really religious person the story line will probably not be for you. The author truly turns the tables on the whole angels are the good guys and demons are the bad guys. Or if have issue with m/m relationships. Which do not get me wrong it's something that is more implied than discribed. At least in this 1st book. But if u have issues with these things your definitely going to want to take a pass on this book. Other than that I think you'll truly like it. It's original and nowadays finding a book that has a new and unusual twist is not easy. It can get a lil to into the science at time. I kinda felt as though I was taking a physics course at times. So yeah it got to be a bit much. But aside from dropping some of that. My only other complaint would be to have it be a bit more steamy. And I personally would have liked to seenjoy the protagonist get romantically involved with more than one of her men. I know I'm bad, but it is advertised as a reversed harem book. So naturally I expected her to actually have a harem. I mean it implies that it's going to happen but it never actually does. Like I said "Hopefully there is another book on it's way." I am so not done with this story or these characters! So Mrs. Hadley if your reading this "is this going to be a series?" " please say Yes! ".....lol

It was an interesting world the author created, but I didn’t get into it as much as I hoped. I would have thought a book this length would have had more action or the story would have moved further along than it did. Heck we were around 60% mark before she started training. The real reason this book is so lengthy is the book kept on rehashing things (jealousy, hurt, whether the attraction was okay) and because the author felt the need to give absurdly long explanations about everything. It’s like she either just nerded out on the details (I understand—lol) or didn’t trust the reader’s ability to learn, understand and draw conclusions from character actions or at least less lengthy explanations. It took me out of the story and I almost dnf this several times before it hit the 50%mark because of it. The other thing that bothered me is the guys. At first it seemed like we were being introduced to very different people, but the more I read the less distinct their personalities seemed. Perhaps this will change in future books. All that being said, this is a brilliant concept that lost a little something in execution. If only the author would have explained more through battle/action instead of lengthy conversation, had tied some issues up earlier and made the guys more distinct this would have been a five star read.

I was completely obsessed with this book. Not one minute was I bored or even needed a break. I completely devoured this book and need book 2 NOW! I stumbled across this book and haven't even read her other reverse harem, but I keep hearing amazing things about her books. Each page brought a new world or thought or made me pause. It was sexy is a romantic way and filled with sexy tension. I can't wait to see what happens when more demons wake up. Will she have like hundreds of men at her feet? Can't wait to find out? If you are browsing for a new series-don't think any harder than you have to-this is the book. Don't let 500+ pages scare you either! It is a quick read filled with all kinds of adventures. Beware though and remember-THIS IS FICTION! If you don't have an open mind about the universe and can't comprehend reading something that messes with your mind a little with religion, then this is not your book. Hadley is an amazing writer who swept me up and spit me out writhing for more!

As always, Auryn Hadley is a very good author who knows how to create interesting characters, complex worlds and full length novels with out the cliffhangers! (respectable)
Pros: great ending! I loved the epilogue. :).
Pros: great character and world building.
Cons: villains are, so far, two dimensional. Hope there is more development in the next book. Knowing Hadley's other works, I'm very optimistic.
SPOILERS ahead so don't read if you do not want to be spoiled.
Many would give this book 5 stars instead of 4 but it hit on something that really wasn't for me. I love rh stories where the heroes are devoted to and in love with there heroine only. Another words, no other women or other men for the heroes. I prefer that the men are more like brothers to each other not lovers. There is an element of it in this book and it may develop further in book 2. (idk) I am invested in the story though and will read the next one and hope it doesn't go in that direction.

Heads up. Some people aren't going to be happy with the alternate 'Jesus' history and angels as bad guy slavers. But it fits the storyline and the world building nicely enough. Hey, this is a dimension hopping, paranormal, reverse harem work of fiction. I was entertained.
I thought the epilogue had quite a bit of charm. Ronwe. So much character depth in such a short chapter. Made such an impression that, an hour or more later I found myself wondering if Sia could make him his very own perfect demon aether skin or create an ability for him to process aether properly. It'd be a huge leap up from giving Luke blue eyes but would be way cool? But heck, she totally amped up that mother tree...
At the date of this review, Ms. Hadley is working through three (?) series at once. So, if you liked this book, check out The Chronicles of Icthema while you're waiting for her to rotate back to this one. It's one of my all time favorites. ?

There are legitimately not enough words in the English language to explain my love for this book. It's complex, it's layered, it's full of characters I'm invested in and have really gotten an idea of who they are, there is mythology mixed in with unbelievable imagination on the authors part and I'm 100% captivated and floored. Throw in the fact that it was such a long read and I am honestly hooked for life.
This author gave this book her all, you can see how much TLC she dedicated to making sure she wove this story in a way that would leave you asking a million questions and completely thrown when curveballs came at you from the most unexpected places. Just when you think you have an idea of how things are gonna go? NOPE. Think again.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to any and all lovers of RH and compelling reads. You won't be disappointed. P.s. Sam? He's my heart & soul. That is all.

I've heard other people hype up Auryn Hadley, but I've never read one of her books before. This was the first one and I adored every single page. I loved the nerdiness of the book. I adored Nick, Sam, Bel and Luke. I loved Sia and her spunk. It was all so good.
As I was reading this book, I sorta had an ah hah moment. Who has seen the movie Interstellar? This book reminded me a lot of it. With all the science and physics and math aspect of it. You know thos gifs of "mind blown" yeah, that's how I felt about this book. Her imagination and story telling is fantastic. And this was a bigger than normal book. Over 500 pages. My type of book.
I'll be hunting down more from Auryn Hadley for sure. And if you're wondering about this book? Don't wonder. Just buy it and read it.

Wow it’s so different and unique from anything I’ve ever read and the mythos created is so ingenious! I need the next one stat! Wow! I can’t even explain how meaty and in-depth this was or how exceptional character creation is. This book was devoured ravenously and it left you feeling full even though it’s over. I love where it ended no big cliffhanger and just enough wrapped up and enough left to discover to be satisfied. I now have to read everything she’s ever written it was so good. Wow. Just word choice, description, world creation, dialogue... it was just so rich like an amazing piece of a chocolate delicacy. I loved the heroine was not a damsel in distress and had a backbone full of sass and sarcasm. Man this book was amazing. Must read for sure! Love it!

This book was everything. I was sucked in and could not pull myself out. I am an avid reader constantly searching for that perfect book, it can be quite hit or miss but this one was a total hit! It was full of suspense, laughter, sexy moments ;), and full of description in a way that I was left blown away. How Auryn had so accurately described the worlds and all the scientific facts to make everything so real was bind boggling You can tell this book was well planned and thought out. It wasn't rushed and flowed together beautifully. This is what a true author looks like. Now I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for book 2, waiting for that next high and to be swept away into the story even further. Definitely one of those worth reading again, so don't think just click read now!

I really appreciate how every book of this author's I have read is long and detailed so I can really sink my teeth into it and not have it end as soon as I am really into it. Kiss of Death was no exception and I love, love this take on demons and the battle they are in with angels. The slow-building harem is the icing on the cake - thank you, thank you for having the relationships slowly build. Some might think it is slow in some parts but I like a carefully built world and characters/relationships so it was great for me. And as much as I can't wait to see what happens next I really hope she takes her time and writes just as thorough and long of a second book for me to enjoy just as much.

I’m more than pleasantly surprised. I spend a disgusting amount of time looking for decent writers, and then I stumbled across this gem. This writer is quickly moving to my top 5 favorite authors of all time.
The story was complex and deep, the characters had separate and individual personalities, and the writing was mature. There was a real story, not just sex.
And the heroine was awesome! This author has managed to create a main character that isn’t insipid, selfish, and weak. She ends up saving the guys as much as they save her.
Love this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Wonderful story!! Very intriguing storyline featuring a heroine that is actually not whiney! Real women that are passive and can't use their brain to figure things out on their own give us other women a bad name, so I like how Sia takes things into her own hands and doesn't completely rely on the guys. I only recall 2 sex scenes in this book, could've used maybe 1 more added in there, but it's nice that sex scenes weren't overused like some books do to add more content to lengthen the book. I can also proudly say that for once there weren't many spelling and grammar mistakes, If any, that caught my eye. That's good because they tend do distract me from the story. Overall, it's a very interesting read and the author did a fantastic job on the first book! Can't wait for book 2 in this series!!

*dazed blinking* This.book. Oh my.
This is the type of book that pulls you in so deep, it leaves you feeling stunned to be back in your world when you finish it and finally come up for air. I loved everything about it because it has everything I want in a book:
Super long - check!
Strong smart female lead - check!
Hot, intellectual guys - check, check, check, check!
An all consuming original world and storyline - double check!
It has everything you could possibly want in a book. I am hooked on Hadley BIG TIME. I though rise of Illiri was good, and it is, but this one blows me away. Best RH book I have read this year hands down.

Romantic and exciting start to new RH series. It was fun. There were a lot of technological concepts that sometimes had to be glazed over, but overall was fun and fast moving. The ending left me knowing that the series is going to be exciting from here on out and can’t wait to see what happens next.
Small spoiler alert:
This is a medium burn RH romance. She has met her here, but really only connected with one of the guys so far. The story is set to allow that in the future books. The author did a great job making the harem concept acceptable. No one is uncomfortable so far with sharing and seems to be spontaneous and not forced like some.

This was amazing! First let me say that this story is way more complex than the synopsis makes it sound and I'm so happy it was! So much happened in just book one, I cannot wait to read more from this story. Loved the main character, she was smart and learned from her mistakes. I kept expecting her to turn into a brat and do something stupid because she wanted her independence but she is not one of those annoying characters. She knows when to make a sacrifice for her own and her guys safety. And my goodness the men! Loved them all and I really can't wait too see how their relationships advance. Definitely give this author a try, she knows what she's doing ;)

This was a decent book. The character development was OK, but I would have liked to learn more about who our characters truly are, not just superficial. Some of the storyline bled on, and I just wished it would get to the point. Didn't feel much like a reverse harem until the end. And even then we are still only partway there. Slow burn. I will read the next book though.

This book had such an interesting concept and sucked me in right away. I loved the idea of having a sexy protective demon as death. I also really liked the MC in this book. The kiss of death was really incredible. The world and the characters suck you in immediately. It’s one of those books that, while you’re reading, makes you feel like you’re there, in the moment, with those characters, experiencing it all. And it also didn’t hurt that there were some pretty hot and steamy scenes along the way. I can’t wait for the next one.

“Kiss of Death” is Auryn Hadley’s latest book, and it did not disappoint!
I loved Sienna (the main character). She’s the kind of heroine that I really enjoy; she’s smart, practical, sassy, and brave. I also loved the men that Sienna finds herself becoming involved with. (I’m not a fan of the trend where the hero is a jerk to the heroine, but she just loves him anyway. Why?!)
One of the best things about this book is the world-building! The author does an amazing job of creating a world hidden from the world we know, that tears down everything we have come to accept as “fact”. The world-building is first rate, and the plot twists enough to keep the reader guessing.
I love big books! At around 700 pages, know that you can really sink your teeth into “Kiss” and lose yourself in Sienna’s journey. It’s a satisfying book that will leave you thinking (and ready for the next book).
While I would classify this book as sci-fi/fantasy, at its heart it’s a romance (a reverse harem, to be more specific). This book introduces the members of Sienna’s harem, but it focuses on the relationship between Sia (Sienna) and Death (I don’t want to spoil too much here). All the men that Sia becomes involved with are different, and also different from each other. I really appreciated the fact that they do not blend together in an unrecognizable heap of manliness, which I sometimes find to be the case in RH books.
If you’re looking for something different, smart, engaging, and satisfying, I highly recommend “Kiss of Death.”

It’s very long but doesn’t feel like it at all, because every page just draws you in more. The characters are sexy and unique and the story is fantastic. Sexy Alfa men, smart, sassy, and relatable main character, steamy sex scenes, and enough details to make the storyline fantastic, especially if you enjoy urban fantasy with a bit of romance and a bad ass heroine, The best books are the ones you never want to end, and this qualifies.

This book was light on the reverse harem aspects but really good on the world building aspects. Unlike the impression I got here, I do believe in a real and living God but I know this just fiction or maybe one persons view, that plus I couldn’t have enjoyed the “godhunter” series by Amy Sumida if I wasn’t able to that things like this w/a grain of salt.....
That being said in that series things are told in a much more organic way and (at least for me ) were easy to be pulled into ...
The h there Vervain comes from a kinda wiccan background, and one night on a day in Hawaii her date tries to sacrifice her to a Hawaiian ? deity, she of course is able to save herself and finds out these “gods” exist and sets out to kill the soo she never has to feel vulnerable like that again , turns out they were really atlantean’s ( of the sunken city fame) who abilities got them kinda turned into gods by human beliefs....
And she also has the ability to drain powers...
But like I said Vervain’s abilities just felt natural and organic and bled easily into the story ,no offense to the writer but here I felt like I was almost being pulled into a collage physics/ alternate theology class I hadn’t signed up for .....
I wasn’t entertained but felt I was being fed her version of the universe while being bored senseless by the h’s everyday collage life in her boring little world .....
This was such a weird combo at times, one minute skimming all the aether and physics of other world talk and then the next the seemingly endless drooling of the heroine over any and all the attractive makes/men she cane across ....
Death/Nick seems like a really great male, but at times it was really hard to tell if Sia like him for him or his drool worthy body, a body which she needed to remind herself and us constantly just how sexy and drool worthy it was..
I mean con stan ly !!!!
Or if not him, how sexy Sam is or Luke (even if she couldn’t stand him for the longest)
Seriously I was bored for most the book by the physics/“theology “ and her day to to life of class, rinse lather and repeat but then her seeming shallowness of being obsessed all these guys looks almost made me like I was reading some shallow contemporary bad boy CEO billionaire romance....
I mean come on I love a pretty face as much as the next woman, but I never felt like I was really getting to know anyone for the longest, too much time in Sia’s thoughts too many reaping the same ideas and questions over and over with descriptions of things I really wasn’t interested in...
Sighs, even though 700 pages at this price is one HELL of a value ( though I’m very very grateful for KU) it’s way too much for just one voice... I feel like I now know Sia pretty well ,even if she doesn’t make my favorite heroines list and I feel I to know Nick pretty well but the rest ? Luke,Sam, Bel ?
Well, they aren’t strangers on a page but really most were always just in passing in the book,Nick got most of the page time during most of the book and Luke a fair share towards the end but Sam I feel like I only really know his sexual preferences mainly about him,and it’s mainly anything with a pulse, though it felt like men then women for him and Bel ,he’s a big strong protector who’s jealous he’s the only demon in their group not have kissed Sia....
Does this feel like an RH ? No, not really, more like an interesting and slightly complicated family Sia has gotten to chose for herself...
And the “hot” kiss soo many ppl were raving about ?
Well, one) I think there was a better way for Nick decide to open up about his past w/Sam... it’s hard to use the word gay, when you’ve created a world that didn’t have women, a world filled only with males, soo they got off and enjoyed themselves the only way they had.... and some like Nick realized if given the choice they preferred women, but even soo being w/someone almost a million years would be a difficult habit to break...
That was easier to take and understand then Sia getting her homo-erotic kicks, while she might thought it too “hot” to get jealous at the time I felt it was a load of BS! Because I don’t believe if Sam had been short for Samantha, she would have found it “hot” for even a second ,she would have been jealous as hell, especially learning Sam and Nick had once been lovers even if Nick could only love Sam as a friend...
It felt cheap to me,but out there just to give some a thrill....
m/m isn’t my thing and while I was grateful for the warning I kept reading waiting for the moment hoping it wouldn’t last long, having stayed by the fact if it,funny thing was I’d lost all interest in the book and or connecting with the characters or enjoying myself long, long before I got there....
For me this was overly complicated in plot and characters....
Less plot,physics/theology and a few less ppl and it might have been amazing .

The complexities of the world's and the details included to build them was amazing. No one character was the same the dialog for each character was unique. In this case characters truly jumped off the page. Love it!

I absolutely loved reading such an in-depth, creative and fun book! I really have gotten involved and attached to all the characters. Thank you for putting all the hard work into this world you created. I am Totally hoping this will be continued - I Need to read more on Sia's relations with All her men, more on her abilities, and exactly What she is! Can't wait to even read more of your books... keep it coming!
