Overall with a dash of accounting and finance lectures thrown in for good measure the book is a good basis to see what Buffett thinks. Now one could get most of this from Berkshires website but the oldest reports (which aren't online) have some of the best insights into how the man thinks and make for a good overall read.

A 50 year long history of thoughts flow beautifully illustrated Warren's investment, more accurately business, philosophy. I enjoy the consistence of thinking and candidness in these reports. I have learned a great deal from it -- most importantly a way of thinking.

The letters from 1977-2012 are freely available for download from the Berkshire Hathaway web site at no charge. No need to buy this compilation unless you want the 1965-1976 letters. Whether you purchase this compilation or simply read the letters from the web site, I would highly recommend anybody to read, at least some of, Mr. Buffett's writings, his words and insights are timeless.

Warren Buffett has demonstrated himself to be a master investor.

You can read all kinds of books about investing, or written by a random author about an investing great.

Why not get things straight from the horse's mouth? Buffett's own words and teachings to his abnormally loyal shareholders.
