This book is writen in first person and is simpley wrote but I think it adds chrisma and understanding to the book. The characters are vibrant and colorfull. Even the opposition characters are enjoyable.
I didnt find the story line to be a love story as most people did. I found it to be about a handfull of people who just happened to cross paths and need each other for each others faults and streinghts. That is what made the story so intersting and beuightifull.
This is a good book to read if you dont have much time or energy to put in to a heavy book, like I dont.

I love this book. Unusual characters. But so real. Loved the story line enough that I finished the book in 2 settings. Hated for it to end. Tony and Maria were so young and had so much to figure out. Carl was awful and Delilah great. I would like to believe that eventually there would be a happy ending.

The story seems simple, at first--boy meets girl on subway, they fall in love and will march off into the sunset...or the crowded streets of New York. But then both the characters have lots and lots of emotional and physical baggage. One is sure that these two will never end up together. The ending is amazing and wonderful and a refreshing twist on happy-ever-afters, reminding us that life is not like the movies. A fun--and fast--read.

Catherine Ryan Hyde is one of my favorite authors, and this book was on par with the best. (Especially if you're in the mood for dysfunction)
I liked the bravery of the two main characters. It is well written and a page turner.

Very well written story about 2 people who are emotionally damaged. They both manage to escape their poisoned environments and possibly find love along the way.
I liked the ending of this book too as it seemed realistic and not over-syrupy/fake.
