A good period read. I loved the descriptions of old Hollywood and actors. The ups and downs of being famous seemed to be the real way life is. A crooked road, not a super highway. Laughter and tears in equal parts.

This is the meshing of real events with the license of a novel . Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy and especially Loretta Young. This is a perfect book for those unfamiliar with the love stories of these famous actors

The beginning of the book was faster paced and very interesting. The latter part of the book may have been slower and lest interesting because I already knew some of the published information about the stars. Regardless, it was a very good story.

I love all of this Author's novels. Always beautifully written and you easily feel transported to the time a place. I enjoyed the fictional twist on this and I wish there would be a sequel and another parallel back story!

While this is a somewhat fictionalized version of Hollywood in the '30s & '40s, so much of it is fact-based. The story is written about Loretta Young, her family, her loves and the movie stars of that era. It also deals with her love child born of her affair with Clark Gable and how it was kept hidden from the public. I adore Adriana Trigiani's novels and this one was another fine example of her gifted writing style.

I love Trigiani's writing and this book measured up. Several evenings I was up late trying to finish a chapter. The character development was extensive and the interactions amongst characters intriguing. I would recommend this book to anyone who has nostalgia for the golden days of Hollywood.

This book was so interesting as I remember how much I loved the Loretta Young television show. After reading the book, I googled her and Clark Gable. They lead interesting lives in a very different time.

I really enjoyed this book. This was the first Adriana Trigiani book I’ve read. She is a great story teller. I felt transported to early Hollywood. I enjoyed it so much I just ordered 2 more of her books!

Pedestrian rendering of a few famous Hollywood stars. Nostalgic at best, Not Particularly well written. I felt like I was reading a condensed version. Author would have nothing if it weren't for the fame of the subjects.

very entertaining story of the lives of some of the greats of the golden age of movies. Not the typical Adriana Trigiani story line but very well done. She gives a backstage glimpse into what these superstars lives were like and makes them seem more like ordinary people.

This book is a walk through Hollywood history in such a way that you feel like you were there, every step of the way. I wasn't even born when this story took place but I so remember the actors and their stories which will live forever. Thank you, Adriana, for taking us back in time.

It was a love story ... so many pressures in their era! I always liked Loretta Young and I like her more now. It is a good read, I couldn't put it down. (Note ... I suggest you not Google her until you finish the book.)

Not your typical Adriana Trigiani novel but even in Hollywood you can find traces of the importance and strength of the "family" and what it means in your life! The bottom line is always "La Famiglia"! Enjoyed the Hollywood backdrop! Loved the inspiration for this story. Adriana does not waste one moment in her life, everything has meaning. It's all from the heart! A recommended read!

The author was repetitive in telling this celebrity laced tale, and although I read it through, the storyline was just not that interesting. Trigiani also failed to pull the strands of the story together at the end.

I enjoyed reading this novel. It seemed real. I guess because it's based on facts. It bought back memoies ofwhen I saw Loretta in the movies and on TV. I did not realize then that her life was so complicated.

Interesting story. Brought the Golden Age of Hollywood to life. I'm not a fan of stories like this that mix truth and fiction. I prefer 100% fiction or a biography to flights of fancy, fictitious characters and departures from the true events for the sake of a "good story" or a compelling romance.

What a fun read with wonderful characterizations of some very favorite old-time movie stars, partly fiction, partly fact! It's fun to imagine what their lives were like in old Hollywood, the glamour, the talent, the folks behind the scenes, the families and friends of favorite movie idols. Very enjoyable.

This is a story of obsessive love. The author continually revisited the same scenes and feelings. I didn't like this. Wanted more specific information about her career, especially her time in television.

Different type of book for Adriana, but enjoyed it all the same. Brilliant writer. Also, I am someone who can still remember Loretta Young floating through the door in her flowing dress at the beginning of her TV show.

Love the old time Hollywood stories and insight to those stars of yester year. Have read biographies of David Niven, Gable, Lorettas daughter Judy's book and of course some of Spencer Tracy's story through books on Hepburn. Loved it, but sad that Loretta didn't get the man

As an old movie buff, I was quite looking forward to this read, but I was very disappointed. The author never brought me into the story. It just seemed like she was telling me their story rather than immersing me into their lives.

If you love Hollywood stories, "All the Stars in the Heavens" is right up your alley. I grew up hearing about Loretta Young and her affair with Clark Gable along with the birth of their daughter......interesting and enjoyable characters throughout the book.
