Just too wordy - not engaging like her past novels - do not care for a male center character - drags out - have been reading it for two weeks and just not one I would suggest - seems to lack a good flow - I think too much information surrounding it all -

Love the way Adriana Trigiani writes. Think I have read all of her books. Kiss Carlo was fantastic. Didn't want it to end as I am sure it will take a while before she writes again. I loved Shoe maker wife as much as Kiss Carlo. Adriana is a genius... full of best stories ever.

Loved it. Easy reading. Great story telling and character development. Grew up in South Philly and author has all landmarks on point. I would re-read this again; it is that entertaining and engaging.
Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans - The Battle That Shaped America's Destiny :: Paris 1919: Six Months That Changed the World :: SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome :: The Story of the Captivity and Life of a Texan Among the Indians :: Big Stone Gap by Trigiani, Adriana [Paperback]

Another wonderful read from Adriana!!! I've how it is all connected around the Italian themes and history, the strong families and values, and the delightful variety of characters, especially in this novel.

This is a wonderful story about Italians. I was very impressed by the author's inclusion of recipes. I had never had heard of macaroni and cheese with red sauce. I would say the story was about the development of Carlo.

I enjoyed the dinner scenes in the Italian American homes, otherwise, it felt like instead of watching a funny, romantic bigger than life play, I was reading it. The author does try to capture that feel, but novels are a different read, and this did not work for me. It slipped between nostalgia and slapstick.

Adriana Trigiani ar her very best! Her understanding of people and of an Italian family which she comes from and circumstances is just amazing and she writes with such love of words. I buy her books as soon as they come out and I love everyone of them

Could not wait for another enthralling book by Adriana Trigiani and it was well worth the wait. Reading about this Italian family brought heartfelt memories of my own dear loved ones. So blessed to be Italian and thankful for this gifted author who always delivers the best.

Living in Philadelphia I enjoyed reading about what South Philadelphia was like in the late 1940s. Unpredictable events take place in the story. This adds to the charm of the characters. I couldn't put down the book until I finished.

I so enjoy Trigiani's books. They are so reminiscent is my family and heritage. She brings to life each character with love and passion. Each of her books has been a joy to read, and this was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and storyline. She makes me feel that I am really there. Highly recommend her books!

A good analysis of marriage at any stage or time. Strong characters but the part about the Ambassador was ridiculous. The story was enjoyable but ludicrous at times.
The ending was very predictable
