An Evil Dead MC Story (The Evil Dead MC Series Book 7)

SPOILER ALERT.

I don't normally write book reviews. That being said, I love this series, and have waited for Blood with bated breath. Finally, we'll discover why he's such a regimented, controlling, tortured soul. Horrific childhood details forthcoming, obviously.

When I saw the cover, I thought it was perfect. A rough depiction of the Mormon temple in the background gave an indication that one of the details mentioned in previous books that he is from Salt Lake would be mentioned. (It's cool that it's my hometown, I have to say.) Also, I was sure the Brother's Keeper tattoo on his arm had a double meaning. Yes, he is loyal to his bothers in the MC. However, the dead brother mentioned in a previous book might be part of that, too. Some sort of atonement for not helping him, maybe? Fabulous!

I have to say, Ms. James is a a very gifted writer. The romantic musings of both Cat, and especially Blood, were positively poetic. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I cried and read those parts more than once. We all wish for a love like that, if we're being honest with ourselves. To see the alpha male with the hard, outer shell reveal his ooey, gooey center. Bullseye. Love it.

While the detail about Blood's father was a shock, as I totally didn't see that coming, I thought there would be details about the brother here. Was he caught up in the father's business, and it got away from him? Not mentioned again. When Cat talked about her sister being killed, blood could have mentioned that they had that on common, as his brother overdosed in Salt Lake. See how easy that was? Nope. Not mentioned there, either.

While this is still, by far, Ms. James best book in the series, I'm compelled to say that her editor and cover artist may have wanted to consult before the final book was released. The readers were really cheated out of something that obviously shaped who Blood is: an explanation of the tragic death of his brother in Salt Lake, and how he had to deal with it. (Or not to this point in his life.) Was their relationship a solid one or contentious? This is Blood's book, after all. Where else would that be explored? Not here, apparently. And this is supposed to be a stand-alone novel. I would be really confused by the cover alone if I hadn't read all the previous books.

While I'm not a published author, details mentioned in previous books when developing the character in his own book are a must, right? Seriously, Ms. James, Ginkoba calling. You lose a star for that in an otherwise perfect book that readers will want to read again and again. Please don't make the same mistake in Undertaker, I beg you, as I thoroughly enjoy your writing overall.

I was completely hooked from the first page. If you enjoy the MC genre and love a good alpha male then this book should definitely be on your tbr list. Blood is one of my favorite Evil Dead MC books. I received an arc copy for an honest review. I loved this book Nicole James definitely nailed it. To bad the store only let's me give it 5 stars.

I love love LOVE this entire series...and Blood plus Cat equals one sexy, fun couple.
When Cat is forced to save an almost dying Blood, she was definitely doing it against her will or better judgement...after all bikers were not her favorite people. But when she gets up close and personal with the bossy Enforcer for the NO chapter, she loses her heart and emotions to him while making a deal with him to save someone she loves.
I really loved the whole vibe of this one...the local flavor of New Orleans, the brotherhood bond with Blood and his MC and the exciting storyline that pitted fathers and sons and rivals against each other.
I was thrilled to get the sneak peek at Undertaker's book coming next...holy smokes that is going to be one epic triangle to have to sort out!

After meeting Blood in previous books, I expected his story to be intense, steamy, and a bit on the dark side, just like the character himself. However, what we get is a softer side of Blood that I never expected to be possible, some steamy scenes, and although he's still intense, at times it almost felt like I was reading about a different character. Don't get me wrong, this was a great story! I guess I just expected something different based on his previous actions. 

This is Blood and Cat's story and it's full of humor, action, suspense, mystery, secrets and lies, intense situations, and intriguing twists that make this page turner one you won't want to miss! I liked seeing some of the characters from previous books, and what's going on with them now. 

If you haven't read this series, I suggest that you start from the beginning. You'll get fantastic stories, awesome characters, lots of hilarious banter, learn about each couple, and the dynamics between the clubs. You won't be disappointed! 

I strongly recommend this book, series, and great author.

This is an ok story, but being from New Orleans...Cliché Overload!
I'm sorry, but we don't only eat traditional Louisiana Food (Etouffee, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo) - we eat BBQ, Burgers and Fried Chicken too. The Author did her research very well on all the locations and bridges, but she did not do that in the Six books prior to this story. The restaurants noted in this book are tourist places, not where the locals go - just saying.
This annoyed me....Blood speaks dialect one way and after the bayou scene, he all of a sudden speaks Cajun French...then he goes back to his previous dialect with single Cajun French words popping up "cher" he should have been doing that all along.
Blood is a super strong character in the previous books and it really didn't come across in this book.
Cat is a strong willed girl all through the beginning and turns weak and submissive...that was disappointing.
I just expected more, since I loved all the books prior to this one.

This story was just Ok for me.

Note to Author... if you write about an Iconic City, you don't have to put everything about that city in one book...spread it out...it comes across as Cliché and locals find it annoying!

I have been waiting patiently for the next book in this series. And this book made the wait worth while. OMG!! Blood has been taken captive and has been shot (see why I was waiting!) and in his delirium, he sees an angel helping him. Actually, it Cat, a nurse, whose sister is being held by dirty bikers, as she's forced to help the shot up biker chained to the bed.

Blood is so gruff but his sensitive side is right there. He cares about the people around him, and his loyalty it unmistakable. He gives his word to Cat to find her sister, and he is determined to do it. Cat is strong, and bold, and even though she is scared, she will stand up to anyone getting in her way. You can feel the heat on the pages of this book with the attraction between these two.

Nicole James writes with twists and turns and surprises and I loved the way Cat adapted to the other members of The Evil Dead MC. But watching Undertaker squirm was fabulous!! 5-stars and now I'm patently waiting on Undertaker!!

Nicole James Evil Dead MC Series was my first foray in to MC Adult Contemporary MC Romance/Erotica. The series hasn't let me down until now.
This book starts the New Orleans chapter of the MC and as to be expected there are growing pains. These are not established characters so it is the authors job to breath life into them. Make the reader form a connection. I feel the story fizzled in this area. Blood, for all his angst and trust issues the only real connection I feel between him and love interest is attraction. Sure they share their histories but it doesn't seem to connect them. Not until Tante Marie. Then a deeper bond seems forged but that is well past halfway.
The editing was done well, no real grammatical issues. It was great to see Ghost and Shades again. I won't give up on the New Orleans chapter just yet. Undertaker is next and poor Holly may get her heart broke.
Technically 3.5 stars.

Another good book from Nicole James, alpha sexy biker that needs to learn how to trusted and to get rid of his demons that he's been carrying for so many years. He was helping out a prostitute and got shot at from a group of other bikers that was his territory, he was to a room where this nurse name Cat takes care of him. Of course Blood makes a promise to Cat in finding her sister who taken from their apartment, of course the person that takes her is Blood's no good father who thru the years lied to Blood about his mother, for years he was told she left Blood instead Big John killed her with drugs. Of course Cat and Blood start having a relationship and a lot happens in the book that I won't tell for I hate to spoil the book from other readers, the book is a page turner and couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read about Tellers story, love this series and hated to see it end.

Evil Dead MC is one of my favorite series. Always wondered about Blood. Blood was at the wrong place and the wrong time and was shot. Bring in a beautiful nurse named Cat and his life changed forever. Cat’s sister, Holly was the bargaining chip. Blood promised Cat he would bring Holly home safe. The one that he has to barter with is his father. Whom Blood hated. Throughout this story Blood became aware of how his life was growing up and the truth about his mother. Along the way falling for Cat. Love how the story showed his dedication and love for Undertaker, President and father like figure to Blood. Would have like to have seen a little more story development among the old ladies of Evil Dead MC. I still enjoyed and loved the read. Can’t wait to see what Nicole James writes next. Always a faithful fan!

Catherine 'Cat' Randall can't believe her luck, she already lost one sister and now her younger sister is being used as collateral in order to get Cat to help out an injured biker. Cat wants nothing to do with bikers but has no choice.

Blood thinks an angel has arrived to lead the way, but Cat quickly pulls him out of his fevered situation and he works on her in order to get her to help him escape. He promises Cat that he will get her sister back but Cat is torn between putting her trust in Blood and his MC.

There is a lot more to the story I am not going into but I loved that this was a bit of a slow build. Blood is attracted right away to Cat but she fights it. I thought her attitude was perfect and enjoyed every moment of how this story unfolded. Excellent.

I honestly couldn’t wait to read Blood’s story. In all the other books that he appeared in he just always gave me the creeps. You know, the kind that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand. Blood is more than just the creepy biker killer and this book just proves it. Blood and Cat’s story starts with his almost death and her nursing him back to health since she is a nurse. Her sister kidnapped and Blood’s promise to get her back for saving his life. Little did he know Cat was saving his life in more ways than one. Loved every minute of it

I really loved this book. It offers everything you could want in a MC read and then some.

Cat really stands out and is pretty easy to relate to. She is sassy , has grit and is not afraid to do what needs to be done , she is also soft and vulnerable at times.

Blood , well DANG ! Blood is just awesome. he comes with a lot of damage and pain , but doesn't like to let it show. He is absolutely a bad boy heart throb.

This is an incredible read . I only wish the ending was a tad different . I wanted just a tiny but more.

As always Nicole has hit a jackpot! Blood had always had trust issues with women due to him believing his mother abandoning him as a child and having an abusive father. After being shot & captured by a rival MC who abducted a nurse to care for him, they escape together. They, along with his club, the Evil Dead MC, search for the nurse, Cat's sistrr Holly, who was taken by Black Jack, the local "King" of the quarter.

Great book...action, story line was awesome and so were the sex scenes! Loved it & can't wait for the next Evil Dead installment!

Really good book. Had an interesting plot, conflicted relationships galore, etc. However, I'm not sure I would call it a romance. There were three sex scenes and they were just that - sex. Two of the scenes had some bondage and domintion which I did not like. I really don't think that part of Blood's modus opera director added to the story. I understood his problem but when he did it with Cat, it made it seem she was nothing special contrary to what he said. Actions speak louder than words. That is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

Have been waiting with bated breath for this book to come out. Nicole James did not disappoint. Great story line, awesome characters and a hot steamy connection. Cat is a wonderful character, strong and soft at the same time. She is the perfect partner for Blood. I loved getting to meet him in Shades and floved him before I was even a quarter of the way in. He is a complex man and you are rewarded with his story and growth in the book. Watching him realize he could have a good woman just made him more lovable. I cannot wait for the next book!

Knew Blood could be the distrusting sexy rough tough and dark but wow add in loyal tenacious and loving he really is the breakout leading alpha biker.
Nurse Cat saved his life when taken and her sisters life was her incentive. She is strong loyal tenacious supportive as well as the perfect women for Blood. Cat/Blood compliment each other without the jealousy and unnecessary drama.

I started at the beginning of this series and after reading Shades book wasn't sure I would like bloods book. I hated him at first in Shades book and after I realized maybe he was ok, from the others in the series, but still hated how he treated women and his attitude. Much like Cat I made too quick of a judgment. This book became my favorite so many surprises and fell in love with blood. Highly recommend the whole series but this book is my favorite so far.

Blood is a club man through and through and doesn't trust women because of childhood experiences. Cat is quite feisty and doesn't trust biker men because of family experiences....so, of course, you know what's going to happen between them, but there is a couple of twists for the rest of the story.
The characters are written so well, with great humour (esp Sandman), add in some good old fighting and good old sex and you can't go wrong reading Nicole James books. Next please!

Fascinating story with tons of plot twists! Blood is hands-down my new favorite character in this series--Cole just got bumped to second...sorry, Cole, still love you, though! Blood had to overcome a lifetime of misbelief about women, and his transformation was amazing. Absolutely loved him. Great book!

Although this series is about bikers, these aren't your typical stories. There is action, tension and suspense from the very start. The main MC characters depicted are strong, honest, loyal and caring. It is an adventure right from page one. Story contain a many surprises and lots of laughter as well. Thus series to date has been very entertaining.

This read was absolutely worth the wait. I liked the instant attraction but loved the fact that they didn't fall into bed right away.

Cat does not like or trust bikers but there is something about Blood that she just cannot shake. Blood don't trust women thinking that they all cut out and run at the first sign of trouble.

I could not put this book down!

I really enjoyed reading this book and the series!! I loved the characters and the H/h's. MC life was depicted well, friendship, loyalty, protecting family, the brotherhood, loves ones and exacting retribution when needed. Strong, hot alpha males, smart, spirited women and lots of sizzling heat and steam. I look forward to the next book.

Blood and Cat talk about sparks. Honestly stumbled on this book so read the series out of order. Still a moving story full of action and grab your heart. Couldn't put it down it was so good. Liked the Louisiana flavor and how strong Cat is as a heroine! Nicole James is now one of my new favorite authors!! Worth the one click you won't be disappointed!!

Blood finds himself in a precarious situation, shoot, sick, and chained up in the enemy's house. Cat is kidnapped to care for an injured Blood. Cat's sister has been kidnapped as well and she's determined to find her. Blood through the help of Cat, escapes and together with the MC fight back.

Great fast paced book

I enjoyed this story. Blood the Enforcer for the Evil Dead MC New Orleans chapter. When he stumbles into Death Heads in the city he's surprised and shot then taken as a bargaining chip. While lying in bed with fever his guardian Angel is delivered to him.
See how they save each other.

I loved this story. This author is phenomenal. I love how she builds up the story and gets you to slow down and enjoy the couple falling in love with each other. Great story. Definitely looking forward to the next ones in this MC New Orleans chapter!!!!

Oooh Blood! Such a strong, alpha man. But when an angel nurse appears to help him, he'll need to help her right back. Loved getting to know this man and seeing him get his HEA. Cat was kind of plain Jane to me at times but she had her "damn girl" moments that just made me want to cheer her on.

Wow just wow. Nicole James sidnit again with an awesome write on Blood. It was fanatastic to carry on the evil dead MC love those guys. And an appearance from Shades and Ghost a complete non disappointment can't wait for more in the series. Keep doing what your doing Nicole you are the bomb.

Loved Blood and Cat's story! Loved the storyline and loved that there are recurring characters from other stories from the Evil Dead MC! I look forward to read more and hopefully Holly's story as well as Undertaker's story!

Nicole James did not disappoint I love blood ands brooding ways. I also feel a different feeling towards the book as I am an Er nurse and felt connected. If you want Dark Broody yet sweet and sexy this is it for you

I have been waiting for Blood’s book since Shades came out. As usual Nicole James did NOT disappoint. Great addition to the series, enjoyed reading more about the New Orleans chapter. Loved the relationship between Blood and Cat. Did not see some of the plot twists. As always, can’t wait for the next book to come out!
