Before purchasing this book, double check if you will be required to access the MyLab utilizing the access code that should come with the text. Unfortunately, the great deal I thought that I was getting while purchasing this text was not a great deal at all. In order to gain access to MyLab I had to pay for the access. Unfortunately, the sum of money between purchasing this text at the advertised low cost and access to MyLab cost more than if I had purchased the text at full price. In other short, this was a rip off, unless you do not need MyLab access.

I have many qualms with this textbook. Aside from the author’s BLATANT bias, he is regularly redundant. So much of the information could be more easily consumed by rudimentary attention to content flow. He elaborates on and on about a concept with no example, speaking in theory with few real-life examples. When he does give an example they are often bad examples. I get what he’s trying to say but these are things that should be worked out by the time they are published in a graduate level textbook.

Certain sections that attempt to use real-life situations are premised on a "what happens when the government intervenes" theme. If both sides of government involvement were presented (free market v regulators), that would be one thing, but he CLEARLY has a strong aversion to any government involvement, a central theme in the book, and quite frankly he often does not back it up very well.

He attempts to make a disclaimer at the beginning of the textbook saying that bias is hard to avoid...well at least TRY. I'm concurrently taking a Business Law course that, interestingly, touches on much of the same subject matter and they do a great job of presenting examples of "here's what free marketers tend to think" and "here's what proponents of regulation tend to think". So, in short, it can be done!!

Best book!! I'v had several courses and several books, but this one is definately one of the best. Current and relevant, it really puts things into perspective. I rented it at first, but will definately buy it now.
