Defy the elements with the information within this book. Grow fresh vegetables in the winter with this method of Organic farming. What a great read! Outstanding information for anyone in cold weather country. Make it work for you.

You are inspiring our neighborhood to grow winter veggies here in Maine. Although we are one more growing zone colder than you we snipped fresh spinach and pulled a couple of small carrots the third week in December.

This is truly a "handbook" loaded with technical information as well as interesting accounts of Mr. Coleman's adventures in farming. It is informative, inspiring and fascinating. The photos of his beautiful farm are stunning. Mr. Coleman's books are always money well spent if you have any ambition to make money at small scale farming, or even if you are a gardener who loves fresh well grown vegetables. Who knew radicchio could be so beautiful?

This book is very good, no other book compares to this book if you want to extend your harvest. There are time tables as to when to plant for each time zone, drawings to build the things you will need which are very simple & basic. This book is an excellent addition to any gardener. If you know someone who is into vegetable gardening, this will be the best gift ever! Don't miss out on this one.

Everyone should read at least one of this author's books. He really knows what he's talking about. And with this ever changing climate we live in, this book pays for itself in tips and ideas on how to grow food in greenhouses (which is what most people should be doing as much as possible anyway).

I loved the approach, the information and the year-round gardening ideas to include winter.

It was just the book I was looking for in order to accomplish my year-long gardening in a hoop house.

I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants to grow their own food even through
the winter. Gabrielle Zale

Eliot Coleman should be praised and honored for the content of this book. With more severe weather events in the south and California, mr Coleman has offered the world the solution to our food production problems. Doesn't anybody listen?

Eliot has a very easy writing style and is expert in his field - so the book is a good read and informative. I like the way that he uses the lessons of successful small acreage farmers from the past and then sensibly adapts to his local conditions. Eg: How the Parisians grew fresh produce in the middle of the city and then how to adapt that to Maine USA.

The Winter Harvest Handbook is THE best book on winter gardening I have ever read. I Have been reading it in places more than 2 or 3 times. Mr. Coleman has a very easy to read conversational tone to his writing that makes the information accessible and interesting!
