“You become what you think about.” Truer words have never been spoken. But the secret to “The Strangest Secret,” is—It’s a dedicated self-discipline that must be practiced every day. How close to “every day” are you?

Great selling tool. I purchased several of these with price ranging from $7.99 to $42.00. I see they are now selling for $677.28???? I love it, but not THAT much!! Ridiculous Price! That's too bad, because I would have purchased more.

Whether you are a novice needing some "basic" training, or a professional needing annual "Spring Training" to dust off your skills, this book is a must. It is easy to read, easy to review, and easy to consult. Jeffrey reduces what can be complex to the bare essentials. I give it to every new sales person in our office, and I make sure that the veterans consult it as well.

If you haven't discovered Jeffrey Gitomer yet, you're missing out on one of the best sales gurus ever. Here's the deal...you'll either hate him or become a disciple. He's brash, arrogant, and in your face, but his no BS approach to selling is refreshing and sure to improve your results. Besides, he's fun and will get you jazzed about your job if you do anything related to sales (and who doesn't?)

Jeffrey breaks his selling principles down to several simple concepts and presents them in bulleted lists that are easy to follow. Pay special attention to the "X.5" items. They are the gems.

This book is a quick read (2-3 hours) and you'll want to go back to it time and time again when you reach an impasse in the selling process. The Kindle addition is especially effective since you can highlight it and quickly review the important information.

Finally, if you ever get the chance to see Jeffrey in person (he travels a lot and hosts seminars in major US cities on a regular basis) take it. He's very entertaining and presents some great insights. A large part of his events is the audience Q&A. He answers every question in his typical irreverent manner.

This book cost pennies and was worth much more. Simple, to the point, and full of useful information regarding salesmanship, personability, and usefulness when dealing with others in general. Great book for everyone, not just those in typical "sales" jobs. The advice shared can be very useful for anyone who deals with people (which is everyone)! Definitely recommend it no matter what field of work you are in. When it comes down to it, we deal with "selling" ourselves day in and out, regardless to the circumstance. This book lends great advice on how to improve that about yourself.

A very nice, hard-cover, cloth-bound book with an antique feel and appearance. It is filled with helpful sales tips, get off your duff prompts, and truly free assistance from the author’s website, that naturally links to premium services as well. Practical and enjoyable. A good basic tool for the salesperson’s arsenal.

I was recommended this book by a fellow business person. She believed it helped her a lot so I thought I'd give it a chance.

Here's the skinny. I am 25% through the beginning of this book. And it's almost entirely a bunch of cheerleading. Don't get me wrong. Mindset is very important. But I thought this was a book about sales tactics and strategies. So far, none. In the few moments where a gem may have presented itself, the author instead decides he'd rather withhold information and have you logged in to his website to get the dirt.

In essence, this book's main function is that of a lead page to another lead page. There doesn't appear to be any real content in here. The chapters are mostly comprised of tons of lists of things to keep in mind with little else following the bullet points, not a lot of depth or exploration. Not a lot, if anything, by way of solid philosophy or complete systems. Imagine a magazine's "Top Tips" articles compiled to make the length of a book.

I will keep reading in order to be fair, and I'll change my review if my findings in the future differ from my current review. For now, ironically enough for a supposed master salesman, this book is thin on value. It appears I've been sold. But not in the good way.

(Furthermore, I also got this book in audio format. I generally like when authors read their own books but the recording lacks a much-needed director and editor. A lot of fumbling over words. Sounds surprisingly unprofessional.)
