I purchased this for one of my college classes and have been enjoying the book so far. The one thing I do not like about it is the cover. Textbooks with paper covers do not last the entire semester if you are actually doing your reading and homework.

Content is current and the entire text is an easy read. Not dry or outdated as some other texts. Trait, Skills, Style, Psycho-dynamic and Situational approaches are presented in clear, concise format. Theory discussions include Contingency, Path-Goal, and Leadership-Member Exchange. Other topics are on transformational, authentic, and team leadership. Aspects of Women, culture, and ethics are also discussed. Leadership instruments are provided at the end of each chapter for self-assessment as well as instrument structural design guidance.

Northouse delivers a clear and concise summary of different leadership theories. The case studies are beneficial in understanding each theory and the leadership questionnaires allow readers to gain a sense of the strengths and weaknesses of their leadership style.

I love this book. The author provides a different view of leadership to peek one's curiosity. The book is a good read for those who are studying leadership and those who just want to learn more about leadership.

This has a great layout of multiple leadership theories. It's organized in a progressive order, and builds and shows connections between theories. Very, very helpful in deciphering between leadership theories.

Good book but the binding is cheap. My book started falling apart and so did someone else in my class who had the same book. If you buy this book, keep it out of heat or else the binding will fall apart.

This is a great, easy to read book. I appreciated the breakdown and descriptions provided of leadership styles, characteristics and measures to identify one's own leadership style. It provides corrective action plans for those who are direct lead, to orchestrate a winnning team. Had to read this book for an Organizational Leadership class. Will hold on to the book for refererences in the future.

This book had thinner pages than the book I found in my school's bookstore, which I don't mind because it saves me some space and weight in my bag. However, on a few pages, the words are smudged so it was a little difficult to read.
