The Black Chapel: A Steamy Romance Novel

The heroine was such a whiner, that I forced myself to finish the book, I felt that the hero knew that Scarlett/Samantha was one in the same, and he just kept up the shared to confuse Scarlett, and I guess succeeded, because look at the end results. I just felt that Scarlett was so stupid.

There should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the book. If I had known there would not be an ending, I never would have started the book. I don't like books that are like soap operas. In fact, I don't like soap operas! Very disappointing.

Character's were super annoying and the story was just starting to get silly. If they would have just stuck with the truth...

Maybe because I've already read FSOG, it seemed silly that a billionaire would go to such great lengths to get his Mom's money. It was a total disconnect for me.

I enjoyed the Black Chapel, it reminded me of "Pretty Woman" and I can see this story turned into the next movie. The author spins a tale about financial struggles and how desperate a person can get. Recommended read. I look forward to more works from this author.

Author Marilyn Cruise paints a perfect picture of true love and romance with her captivating style of writing.

The story starts with the self-loathing stripper, Samantha (Scarlett’s stage name), who hates stripping every night in front of a crowd of men who objectify every part of her body. The story reveals the grim world of strip clubs and also the miserable circumstances that lead many women to stripping. Even in her wildest dreams, Samantha never saw herself working as a stripper but life brought her here. But what seems like rock bottom actually ends up drastically transforming her life, for at the strip club, she is magically thrown onto the lap of the hot and sexy billionaire Michael Manning. However, as all true love is tested, she and Michael also have to struggle through a lot of obstacles, obstacles like Scarlett being discovered as a stripper, to Michael losing his billion dollar inheritance, to the lovers losing each other’s trust. It is an enthralling story of passion, desire and thriving love which will completely captivate your heart and will leave you drooling for more.

This is an erotic romance novel that falls squarely within the Silhouette or Harlequin modern erotica lines. If you are a fan of the genre, you will like this book a lot. It hits a lot of the romance novel sign posts: a handsome wealthy guy who is a little scurrilous but can be made better, a woman with a secret, a romantic triangle, and a completely schizophrenic view of strippers. The stripper trope is really problematic in modern fiction, including romance fiction - here the protagonist is a likable woman who is trying to support her cancer stricken father and keep his house from foreclosure, so she turns to stripping. However, she's also a good church girl and happens to meet the same handsome, wealth suitor as a masked stripper and in the pews at church. The novel revolves around the romantic triangle between the two sides of her life and Michael, the suitor. It's impossible for her to write him off because he's interested in strippers... as she is the stripper he is interested in... but she wants to marry him as the wholesome everyday girl. It's definitely a twist on genre, especially as Michael wants to marry her in a bid to get access to his trust fund billions - his financial transaction is with the "good girl" not the "bad girl" who "dances" for money. So... there's moral ambiguity aplenty, and lots of happy, energetic sex scenes that will keep romance fans hot and bothered.

Obviously as you may have notice this book has adult content. I still recommend it for all ages 18+! I could not have imagined the plot being any other way which made this book a very easy and interesting read.

Samantha or Scarlett which ever "character" you choose, is a dancer at a strip club (stage name Scarlett). She meets this amazing guy named Michael. One big problem, she doesn't date those who she meets at the club. Samantha goes to church with a friend the next day, low and behold, she meets Michael again. This time as Samantha, He asks her out and lays on an amazing proposition. Marry him and split a 3 billion dollar inheritance. With Samantha's issues and also paying for her dad's chemo she could really use the money! Here's the kicker... Samantha falls for Michael and Michael falls for Samantha and Scarlett (he doesn't know they are the same person) and the mother in law (who the inheritance will come from) is starting to catch on!

You will have to read to find out what happens. I would refrain from reading spoiler alerts, One of the best parts was not knowing what was coming next!

“The black chapel” is a well written but easy reading book. Its author, Marilyn Cruise, tells a romance story between a stripper and a billionaire. It is not a regular romance story but one changed with steamy scenes. Scarlett is a young woman who works as a stripper although she hates it, because she needs money to support herself and her ill father. One night she meets the handsome billionaire Michael Manning. They felt immediately attracted for one another but her rule is not to date clients. The next day they meet again by chance but Michael did not recognize her as she is not wearing the mask she usually uses when dancing at the Black Chapel. After a while they date and he has a proposition to make to her, one that if she accepts her life will change completely.
This entertaining and naughty story has a bit of everything. Humor, drama, romance and erotic scenes complete this fascinating book. It makes you think what we are capable of doing to live and support our family. I really enjoy reading it and I would definitely recommend it for adult readers due to its hot content.

The Black Chapel by Marilyn Cruise was a pleasant surprise! Think Indecent Proposal meets Striptease meets your favorite romance novel series. (You could throw in a little Pretty Woman while you're at it)It's all of those things rolled into one. Scarlet(stage name for Samantha) is an exotic dancer who works at her chosen profession to support her ailing father and ends up meeting a billionaire. (yes billionaire with a "B") who seems to be able to offer her a way out. Michael, Samantha's billionaire Suter,has his own reasons for wanting to get involved with her and I was a bit more about her than she realizes.
Overall, it's a cute girl meets boy type of story with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I'm not a huge fan of romance novels so I wasn't really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.

Love, Love, Love!! I may be biased because this is my favorite genre but this is a great book. Samantha is stuck in a job she never though she would do because she is paying for her dads Chemotherapy. Michael is the most eligible bachelor that offers Samantha a very healthy bribe to marry him and then divorce him after his mom passes away. In order for Michael to keep his deep pockets he must marry. Problem is Michael’s mom finds out about Samantha’s profession. Will things still go as planned?? Michael and Samantha have some obstacles they must overcome and Samantha has fallen for this man she is not supposed to remain married to. Will they make it? The scenes in this book are erotic and steamy and will keep you addicted. Hello good weekend read!! Highly recommend this book. Excellent read!
