Johnson's best book yet. I have only started reading the Longmire series the past year or so, and started on book one and each subsequent one gathers more and more character development until you find yourself thinking of them as your friends. You feel there pain and happines. Not since I read the Spenser novels by Robert B. Parker a long time ago, have I found a writer that has such wit with the banter between the two main characters and the love interests. Of course, he has left you wanting more and it will be a long wait for the next book.

Another great read from Craig Johnson. I like the way he weaves some humor into his stories along with the drama and suspense. The chuckles are unexpected and welcome. Having lived in the area where the Longmire series takes place, I can appreciated the local color, and the attention to detail that is part of every story. Keep them coming!!

As usual, Craig Johnson does not disappoint. Same soft spoken Walt Longmire and Henry Standing Bear, and foul mouth Vic. Just when I think the thread of the story is going in one direction, there's an unexpected twist. I would say one of Craig Johnson's best, but they're all the best.

This is another winner in the Longmire Series. Good story line and good characters all mixed in the style only Mr. Johnson can write. Is it always snowing in Wyoming? Exciting finish that you can actually place yourself into via the excellent skills of the writer. Very entertaining book.

I had been waiting for this one for several months. I've visited Wyoming and Montana several times and admit to being positively inclined in favor of the area and its inhabitants. By now the characters' values are pretty much set, yet they have not become entirely predictable. Johnson's descriptions of place and action strike me as authentic. I devour books, and this one was very tasty.

The Vic Morreti ,Longmire relationship is getting a little tedious. We get it.Other than that I enjoy the books.I do not get the timelines.Longmire and Henry are Vietnam vets which would make them in their 60's.Pretty active for that age.

Johnson explores the new West better than anyone. Just the book to have on your Kindle while waiting for a mile and a half of coal cars to pass. Skillful weaving of past, present and human rustling. Gillette, Wyoming is given due consideration enroute to the mountains west and the Black Hills east.

The black coal part of northern Wyoming is the setting for this Longmire case...with cold hearts, broken lives, and former Sheriff Lucian making more than cameo appearances..I love Wyoming and a Longmire novel always makes me want to pack my bags for the hard lands far away from the tourist destinations...

As a longtime fan of Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire books, I was very pleased with his latest, "Any Other Name." In fact, I devoured the book, not wanting to put off reading the next page any longer than necessary. The usual cast of satisfying characters are thankfully there to support the struggling lawman. The ending is completely satisfying.

I enjoyed this book of Craig Johnson's. Walt Longmire has new challenges to face in this book: the imminent birth of his first grandchild, the disappearance of three women, the suicide of an old cop... It's a rabble rouser of a book.

I love all the Longmire books for the great characters, fast-paced action, and humor. I first listened to this book in my car. George Guidall's narration is perfect. Later I went back to read it on my Kindle, in order to remember details and plot nuances.

I can't wait for the next Longmire adventure!

Could hardly wait for this book to come out....have read all the others. Johnson thinks this is his darkest novel....in some ways it is. But, as always, he drops in enough laugh out loud humor and his characters are familiar without being predictable....can't wait for the next one.

Excellent Longmire story, as always. All of Craig Johnson's books are must reads and while plot development is always fairly predictable (it's not like the sheriff is going to be killed off), there are always a few twists and turns along the way.

This is a fast paced tale that takes Walt Longmire out of his county and state to help out in a tale filled with twists and turns. It is nice to see Walt's predecessor, Lucian Connelly, getting into the action. A great read for Longmire fans and Western mystery readers alike.

Once again Craig Johnson has left us waiting for the next edition of the Longmire saga. I'm not one of those reviewers that feels the need to give a play by play of the book. I'll just say Longmire is not in his home count for this story, but we get plenty of Vic and Henry Standing Bear.

Johnson spins the best mystery fiction available. His characters are well written with a humorous twist--even while dealing with murderers and white slavers. I try to read slowly and savor the atmosphere but Johnson's writing pulls you along at a fast pace. Great read!

Terrific story, characters, of course, and plot. First of the series I've read; found it originally on TV and thoroughly enjoyed series before I found out based on books. Very upset it was taken off air, but now I know I can still get my fill of Walt and Vic.

Action & excitement fill these pages as Walt becomes entangled in another unexpected adventure. Surprising twists and turns have you on the edge of your seat as he fits the pieces together of this mystery.

Great read. Enjoyable as always, a few good laughs. Characters and story line are good. A little bit too much Indian spirits and ghosts, tried a little too hard to on those fronts which didn't add to the story.

Are you kidding? This is a Craig Johnson Longmire mystery! what could possibly be wrong? The characters are compelling and the story exciting, There's only one complaint I have. I've finished reading it and the next one is not yet published! I need it right now!!

My favorite living writer has done it again. Craig Johnson has a way with words that is amazing and comfortable like a pair of shoes that you put on when you get home, and your feet hurt. Comforting and anticipated, He's one of those rare authors that you find yourself reading as slowly as possible, to make the book last longer.

What's not to love about the Walt Longmire series? This offering is a timely commentary on human trafficking and does not side-step the grittiness of the issue or the violence it brings. Well written as always.

Anything Craig Johnson writes is a masterpiece of suspense, humor, and the poetry that less within every human being. He is explicit in the details of scenery and expression of body language so that you experience what his characters experience. My favorite so far!

As usual, Craig Johnson did a fine job getting Longmire in, over, and out of trouble! My only complaint, and its not a bad one, is that Henry wasn't around enough for my liking! Still, a great story that was hard to put down!

Not quite up to Johnson's past Longmire novels, but there has to be a lull at some point. Walt and Vic and Henry do not disappoint. The plot was not as strong is some of his previous books.

Still, I enjoyed every word on every page.

This story is nicely done and keeps the plot going right down to the nitty gritty. I just need more of Henry Standing Bear and Dog. I have read all the series of Walter Longmire. I highly recommend them to all mystery fans.

I rated this because, it was an excellent read.
I enjoy the Longmire books because they are well written and extremely relaxing.
I am a die hard Longmire book & TV fan
It is about a regular person with faults and not a hero as such

Another superb Longmire adventure, although the ending was a tad melodramatic. Let's hope that Johnson keeps writing such excellent character-driven mysteries, now that the TV series was dropped. It would be a shame if no other network picked it up.

I love reading the Longmire books by Craig Johnson. They remind me of the years that I lived in cattle country. He writes so the average person can understand what he is trying to convey in a manner that puts you in the story, like being a fly on the wall.

Always a good read. While a reader can question the history timeline of Longmire, who would have to be pretty close to 70 if not older to have been involved in all that his historical timeline has presented, I still enjoy reading these books immensely. Thanks Craig Johnson for working the character so well.

Caution! Some spoilers ahead.

This installment of Walt's story felt more like a bridge between A Serpent's Tooth and whatever is coming next. Some loose ends get tied up (Cady's baby) but there's a lot still that needs to be remedied (more Walt & Vic, please, Craig!) - and it seems like this book is meant to both appease and frustrate long time fans. The plot was more convoluted for me than others, but I always read through the first time fast because I have to know what happens. I'll definitely read it again for depth. Watch out for buffaloes, y'all.

Always great reads. Sometimes funny, sometimes mystical, always dependable. I always know in advance when they're coming and get them on Kindle the first day. If you like Grisham, Patterson, Sandford, Parker, etc, you'll like Johnson.

I truly wish the tv series followed the books better-because the books are way more awesome. Another great story-and love Cady in this...totally hilarious. And the Sheriff is awesome as always. Won't spoil with details-read the book.

I love these books. The characters are so well defined and the humor is great. Also, the descriptions of the Bighorn Mountain area are so vivid. I hope he writes more full books, rather than short stories.

Craig Johnson's latest book has so many twists and turns it's almost impossible to put it down once you get started. It was certainly worth the wait! If you like the show Longmire, you will love these books. This one may be Craig's best one yet.

Loved the real feel of the story. Duty first for Longmire. Trying hard to help a friend solve a mystery in time to get to his daughter and the birth of his grandchild. Could not put the book down for long, needed to see what was going to happen next.

Our hero does it again. Love this most admirable character. Enjoy a great mystery. Wonderful characters. Thank goodness Walt is so intelligent, has such a great descriptive vocabulary you don't have to plod through the %#@$#* expletives to get the bad guys.

Mr. Johnson has hit another homerun. I enjoy the way it was written, his ability to describe topography and describe people. Is just outstanding. As long as he keeps turning them I'll read every all he writes.

Another Craig Johnson hit! Taut, fast-paced and filled with the characters we have learned to expect. I could scarcely wait for this edition to come out and then literally devoured it. I will read it again to savor every page
