Dex has colors surrounding him daily plus voices and he doesn’t know how to overcome them and take control of his life. Paige broke his heart years ago but now she’s back and things are getting complicated and she herself has issues dealing with her beliefs she has been taught but the temptation of loving Dex is strong. Will Dex and Paige be able to heal themselves together or are they better apart like before? I loved this audio book. We got to hear and feel more of Dex and his demons in his mind. Plus we feel the heartache of Paige. The narrators did a truly amazing job! ****Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Read provided for a voluntarily Advanced Reader Copy of this book ****

Oh my heart... When I finished this beautiful BEAUTIFUL book it made me feel like my world was different - like my eyes were open in a way they were not before. This is the first book I've read by AM Johnson, but now I must binge on all of her other works and I will pre-order anything else she writes without hesitation. The way she handled religion and mental health and FAMILY was absolutely breathtaking. I am in awe. I HIGHLY recommend anyone that sees this post to purchase it and let it change you too.

A hauntingly beautiful story of love, of loss, of second chances.
This is my first experience with the author, A.M. Johnson, so I cannot compare this to her other works. I will say that I found this to be a brave work of art. The story unfolding with both soft and bold strokes. All coming together to form a beautiful portrait of a story.
I yearned for Declan and Paige.
The very real issue of mental health and those affected by it was honestly portrayed.
Love is a work of art... and how the brush strokes are laid is entirely up to us!

The plotting and characters were great. The story is hauntingly beautiful and well written as well as performed! The storyline is very emotional and worth reading from start to end, so I'm not giving anything away.

Outstanding performance! Aaron Shedlock was brilliant at bringing Declan to life. With all due respect, I love Tracy Marks in her performance as Paige, however, she goes a little faster in some parts of the story and it makes her sound somehow robotic. I know, it may be her style in some characters or something like it, since I have mentioned the same issue before. Nevertheless, it was a great performance!!

I have no words as beautiful and heartbreaking as those of the author to describe how I felt reading this story. She painted a picture of chaos and pain and soul-crushing heartbreak and of love and healing and acceptance. She's a true artist like Declan and Paige, but her canvas are the pages and her paint are her words.

I loved this intense and passionate journey. I wept at the loss and worthlessness Declan and Paige felt and warmed at their coming home and finding that their love for one another always lingered just below the surface. They spent years trying to push it away and accept things as the were. But in a world of nothingness, they were whole only with each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

Wow this book is so beautifully written its hard to put into words you just have to read it.Declan is an artist that is tormented with demons in his head and Paige is his light and keeps them away. They are both filled with so much sadness and are so empty inside without each other with the guilt of their actions weighing heavily on their souls begging for forgiveness.
This is one of the most beautiful heart wrenching stories I have read and my first from AM Johnson and won't be my last.I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.

4 beautifully inked stars! My heart breaks for both Declan and Paige and what they endured earlier in their lives. This is a great second chance romance that I just couldn’t put down. The storyline is not one you come across often and it felt so damn real that I was hooked from the beginning. We’re given wave after wave of honest hit you straight in the gut honestly that is just so relatable and if you haven’t personally experienced a situation as so you feel as though you are now. You’re right by their side living it with them. I am without a doubt going to be grabbing Avenues Ink book 2 for sure.

Declan and Paige’s story is an emotional whirlwind. After not seeing each other for 9 years, Declan and Paige meet again. Neither of them are the young kids that were once so in love. Years ago, they had to make decisions they were not yet old enough to make and ultimately left both of them scarred. Both of them have suffered loss more than live in the years since they seen each other. Will they be able to overcome the past and heal together?

This is my first book by A.M. Johnson and really enjoyed it. It touches on dark subjects yet it is a beautiful story. I fell in love with Declan and Paige. My heart broke for both of them. It is a story on love, loss, and forgiveness. This story is told from dual POV.

This book starts by meeting high school sweethearts Declan O'Connell and Paige Simon. Paige is the only girl that Declan has ever loved and in return Declan is the only person that Paige has only been able to be herself around. Paige and Declan are happy and in love until one day Paige makes a decision that will change both their lives forever.

Fast forward years later Paige and Declan are trying again and give each other a second chance as neither can walk away from one another. But in order to make it work they must forget the past and Declan must silence the silence the voices in his head. They must risk everything.

The characters are so vivid for so vivid and you feel how each other is feeling.

Another long review erased while typing in my Kindle Fire, so short we go. Go read this book! It was an emotionally and intellectually challenging story of a second chance romance between Paige and Declan. Both were high school sweethearts, but family life and a momentous decision broke them apart. Nine years later, fate has given them another opportunity to find their forever love. It was told in dual POVs and there was fantastic chemistry and dialogue. Declan's mental illness was at the forefront of their relationship along with Paige's extremely strict religious beliefs. Could their passion for one another and for art be enough for an HEA? Read it and find out. You won't be disappointed.

The depth into the souls of the characters in this book is amazing. Declan struggles with an illness that even if you didn’t know much about it before, you learn how difficult it can be. The choices that two teenagers make early on are heartbreaking and are so hard to heal from. I’m trying not to give any spoilers so it’s really hard to explain. Paige and Declan have many obstacles to rise above I. This book and lucky for us, they do. This book will bring you through a roller coaster but with a happy ever after, you will be glad you got on the ride. Get this book! You will not regret it.

Wow! This story took me on an emotional ride- one that I thoroughly enjoyed! This is a story of second chances, of love, and loss, and ultimately learning to forgive.

The main characters- Paige and Declan- felt so real! I felt a connection to them right from the beginning and they made me feel. Told from both points of view, this gave you some insight into the characters and completely draws you in.

I highly recommend adding this to your TBR list. It is definitely worth it!

Possession is a masterpiece that deals with very tough issues, and could be difficult for some to read... however, the author has written these issues with such exquisite care and love, that the light truly does shine brighter than the dark. I was already a fan of the author's, but this book has catapulted her into another atmosphere, and all should take notice. I don't think I can ever say enough about the brilliance that is Declan and Paige, so I won't even try. Just do yourself a favor, and discover it for yourself.

This was a good story, well written. I struggled because I really have a hard time with God or religion coming into storylines. I don't mind random prayers or going to church or things of that nature. I just prefer for spirituality or morality not to be debated in fictitious books. I liked the H mental struggle as well as the struggles the faced as a young couple. They were realistic and relatable. They enhanced the story versus overpowering it. Overall worth the read.

Possession took me by surprise. I was not expecting such a powerful, heartbreaking story. Even though two souls were tortured, they were able to overcome life and find the once lost love.

The writing style was just as beautiful as the story and characters. I loved Declan and all of his 'dark'. His struggles were real but they made you care that much more. There parts of the story that were hard to read, but oh so worth it.

Paige and Declan's story is incredible!! This is probably my favorite book by A.M. Johnson so far. It's dark yet hauntingly beautiful. You'll feel her words in your soul. Their story touches on real issues that some choose to ignore. These two characters invoked all the feels and it hits you right in the gut. Your heart will break for these fragile like broken souls trying to find their way back home. If art was a religion, this book would be the Bible.

Possession is so beautifully written it's poetic. A.M. Johnson doesn't just write, she paints a magnificent story in your mind that will captivate you from the first page. You're heart will break reading Declan and Paige's raw and emotional story about two broken souls fighting their own demons trying to find their way back to each other. Although I prefer less religious aspects in my readings, I really love this book and highly recommend it.

This an exceptionally well written book. Ms. Johnson doesn't hold back and I've loved every second of this gem of a book. The topics touched here might be a bit controversial for some, but the author deals with them in a respectful way. I loved everything about this story. It was original, full of pain and heart.

Beautifully written! A truly touching love story. From the very first page, this book, these characters, pulled on my heart strings. A.M.Johnson just has a way with words and its with those words that she gives Declan and Paige a voice. Both wrestling demons. Yet, together they make each other better. The author takes you along on their emotional journey tastefully. Without a doubt looking forward to book 2 in the series.

I always struggle to write a review because I never know what to say. I enjoyed this book, it gave me a bit of perspective on someone who suffers from mental illness and how it's a struggle. I thought Paige and Declan actually made a good couple, they balanced each other. Of course their relationship was complicated and there was heartbreak evolved. I would like to see books about the other 2 brothers.

Based on the title, I expected something different than what was delivered... I should've known by the synopsis, but as I started reading I quickly realized what I got was so much more than I expected. This story is BEAUTIFULLY written. It's haunting and poetic at times. It illuminates real issues and choices that weigh down so many of us. This book was heartbreaking and hopeful with a beautiful HEA. Well done!

Paige and Declan are meant to be together no matter how much their families try telling them they are not right for each other. Paige married another man that she doesn't love to please her parents. Declan had been depressed ever since they broke up. They need each other to feel complete. Beautiful story, a must read. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I loved this book. It was different than I expected it to be. Paige and Declan are amazing characters. They were so rich and full of life, I felt like they were real. The writing was lyrical and the plot was great. I highlighted so much as I read, which I usually don't do. There were so many sentences I wanted to remember due to how gorgeously written they were.

These characters had such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and tragic backstory. I felt everything they felt and I experienced what they experienced. I felt for them, I loved them, I hurt for them.

This was my first book by A.M. Johnson, but it won't be my last. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for Liam and Keiran's books!!!

Such a great book! What a wonderful story about the true meaning of love... to accept, value, and cherish another for everything they are, including the good, the bad, and everything in between. Also, what a great testament to the treasure of true forgiveness! I would read this book again and again!

Have to admit, I was a little disheartened at first. I had trouble following along the first couple of chapters, only because the story dives deep from the start. I am so glad I stayed with it, because it's a beautiful, raw, and real story. I can honestly say I loved it! Well worth any starting confusion, because it lead to brilliant understanding!

Obsession and control. Those are the two words that come to mind when I think of this book.

Fantastic read. A true page turner. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. I didn't want to put this one down.

Paige and Declan are seventeen, carefree and in love. Paige gets pregnant and is forced to abort the baby. Fast forward several years.

Paige is married to Clark. Clark brainwashes Paige that she is worthless and a sinner. Clark uses Paige for sex. She starts to believe Clark and loses focus at what is really important in her life. Clark convinces Paige that she will never conceive because she is a sinner and Paige believes him. Paige escapes from Clark and moves in temporarily with her friend Lana. Paige runs into Declan at a small bar and rekindles their friendship. One thing leads to another and Paige finds herself head over heels in love with Declan yet again. She discovers that she never fell out of love with him and learns to love him more and learns to cope with his mental illness. Paige's parents end up disowning her and Clark grants Paige the divorce she asked for.

Possession would be the first novel I have read from A.M. Johnson, and I honestly had a really hard time reading. I had to stop myself a few times because I just could not get into it. The main characters just felt off, and the storyline was just weird to me.

Now don't get me wrong, I was very excited to dive into this book. The blurb, left me speechless!
But it more along the lines its me and not you. Just couldn't connect with the characters, it just felt off.

This is Paige and Declan's story.
People call Declan a freak, he isn't normal. Hears voices in his head.
But Paige.....she is light to his darkness.
She makes him feel whole.

Until one mistake changes everything.
Leaving both Paige and Declan broken beyond repair.

Will Paige and Declan let go of the past, and finally look toward the future?
Read to find out.

“Amazing” is not a strong enough word to describe this book. I absolutely loved it. I am a huge fan of A.M. Johnson and read her previous still life series, however, this book was to a whole new level. It was heart breaking sad and brightly beautiful. I am in love with Paige and Declan. Their relationship shows true and unconditional love. There were some mature issues within the book, but it gave it life. I would give all the stars possible to the book if it were possible.

This has just become my all time favorite book. Great job A.M. Johnson on another amazing book!!!!!!!
