This book is a broken down into segments for every day. Each segment is intended to be a reflection to bring more thoughtful-ness and gratitude into your life. Just reading the first couple of days was enough to tell me I was going to sincerely appreciate this book, and I do. I got the Journal to go with it and have appreciated having a place to write down my responses and thoughts from the daily reflections, which is lovely.

I read this book daily for inspiration, year after year it never disappoints and always inspires me. Another book I really enjoy also is The Language of Letting Go. Both these books always seem to be right in tune with what I am experincing at the time and lead me to positive steps.

My favorite journal. Been using it for over 15 years. Exactly what I need every morning. I write 5 things I am grateful for and it starts my off on the right foot. There is a page after every month to write additional thoughts or quotes or whatever.

This book is perfect for the "creator"--an artist, musician, a writer perhaps. I am none of the above and couldn't relate to most of the postings. The writing is good and inspirational for creators, but it doesn't resonate with me.

Perfect gifts. I ordered several and all but on from one provider (listed as good condition) were great price and gently used. The final one looked as if a rat had eaten the cover and some pages. Disappointing

I was looking for a supportive gift for an acquaintance who was going thru a difficult time. I came across this online and, based upon the reviews, decided to order it used. After receipt, I decided I could not give it as a gift, did not want it for myself, and hated to toss it into the recycle bin so I will just include it the next time I have a donation box for charity. It was that bad. I had two primary issues with this volume:
The first and most important was content. It sounded, for lack of a more sophisticated term, sappy. I don't mind a little new age philosophy but this was just dripping in trite fluff. Lots of words (and quotes) but totally lacking in substance. Dated examples. Off the top of the head observations and rumination. No intellectual or psychological foundation. The second was the aged look of the book, which had uniformly yellowish pages that matched the yellowish cover. This hopefully does not apply to the 2009 edition, which appears to now be in pink and white.

Lovely, Charming, and Inspirational. I enjoy this book as a daybook, providing insightful and nurturing meditations on life. I find that I look forward to reading it daily, and will even sit down to catch up with it when I've missed a few days. I think that it makes a wonderful gift for any woman, as it offers feminine, sunny, and healthy perspectives on living. A treat!

I think every woman should own this book. Mine was a gift from my mum and it has a verse to read for each day. This copy I bought for a friends daughter whom is having some tough times. It is sure to help bring her comfort.

This book is so special to me. It inspires, uplifts and encourages me. I read it again and again, day after day, year and after year and have gifted a copy to some of my closest girlfriends. I absolutely adore this book.

This book changed my life many years ago, one page a day. I still read it daily. For the past several years I have given one of these books to all my many female friends. I continue to give this book to new friends I meet today, in hopes it will benefit them as it has me.
I would not want to be without this book.

a gentle push + stretch that I look forward to upon waking!

I used to feel challenged facing my day and I have tried many different things to change that. These words of Wisdom resonate deep with my heart + soul and I have began to wake with joy in my heart, looking forward to reading the next page..Already I feel I am seeing things in a different light, even in the 2 weeks since I began reading.I have wanted to keep a gratitude journal for the longest time but have not stuck with it. I love how I feel eased into it + clearly see the value of this daily discipline.

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself Sarah. And yes I love, love, love your introduction.Simple Abundance has simply brought me much joy.

Every night before you close your eyes you reflect on all the abundance in your day. Doing this makes you so much more aware of all you have, and as the Author says "All you have is all you need." I have been keeping a gratitude journal for well over a year now and it has had such a centering effect on my life. I recommend this whole heartedly.

This book has been around for awhile, so it doesn't need me to say how good it is. But just like the title, the book is all about comfort and joy. If anything, it is a reminder to look at the small things, the everyday things that bring us joy - things we might have forgotten along the way, things that might seem silly, but nevertheless can offer affirmation or "soul food" in a stressful, busy world. The format is nice, with each daily affirmation taking no more than a page or so. Unlike many books offering daily inspiration, it is not "preachy." Rather it is more spiritual. It tells you some simple ideas that might offer peace or comfort or a way to explore an idea or an item that you hadn't thought of that way before. I will feel comfortable giving this book as a gift to my friends who might have no religious affiliation or who are regular church members. Also, I would spring for the hardcover edition, as I think this book will be around for awhile. Once the year is up, you'll feel like starting over with the same year again.

This book gives a new idea for your spiritual growth for each day of the year. Some are very practical, others not so much. But Ms. Ban Breathnach's book is a good starting point for helping readers look at their place in the world differently.
