First of all, Troy Denning should have written this whole series. He is the best writer of the series and his books are the best! This book was fast paced, very eventful, and fun. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. On top of all of that his SW books also have the best covers! One of the big complaints about the recent books is the lack of continuity between authors. I believe this has been fixed a great deal. Whether the authors are learning from mistakes or if the bigger gaps between books has to do with it I don't know, but you can definitely see the difference. Subplots from the previous book (slavery, the trial) are carried over and are written very similarly.
My only complaint is that these books have been too short, but of course this is just lucasbooks trying to milk the series for as much money as possible.
All in all this book and series is very good, I can't wait for Apocalypse.

This book was a winner, continuing with what I've seen from this series so far, and from Denning in general. My one concern was that I did not find Abeloth to be a compelling character or villain, especially. I don't find her sinister, or evil, or capable of doing enough wrong, and so any chapters pertaining to her make me less engaged. The Sith/Jedi interaction is great, and the Jedi/Daala sparring always gets me on edge, which is an indication that Denning is doing his job well.
I definitely recommend it!

Really disappointing that there is NO KINDLE VERSION for this book - discovered after I had purchsed all of the other EIGHT in this series og NINE books. I feel DEFRAUDED. If you participate in a series being offerred on kindle you should dp likewise.
Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Ascension :: Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse :: The Seed Woman (The Seed Traders' Saga) :: The Bookshop on the Corner: A Novel :: Celebrate More. Regret Less. Stare Down Your Greatest Fears.

Outstanding entry in the fate of the jedi series that is most def bigscreen material. It is written extremley well and the plot finally moves forward in fasion. All the characters are involved and this book captures the complete feel of star wars with great space battles, lightsaber fights, politcal intrigue and so much more. MY ONLY REAL GRIPE IS THAT I WANT TO SEE MORE OF JAINA SOLO IN THE THICK OF THINGS, WE NEED HER TO BE INVOLVED IN THE MAIN PLOT, I MEAN SHE HAS YET TO INTERACT ON A MEANINGFUL LEVEL WITH MAJOR CHARACTERS SUCH AS LUKE VESTARA AND BEN. COME ON WRITERS, THIS IS INEXCUSABLE CONSIDERING HER INVOLVEMENT IN THE LAST HALF OF LEGACY.

*****SPOILERS*****

This review will be short because I can't be bothered to waste much time with this, only to warn any of you who may be interested in this book. If you want to read some great Star Wars series you should read the Thrawn Series or the Vong Series, or many others.

This is by far the worst book of any Star Wars series I've ever read. The climax of this horrid book was a fight between Jedi Master Saba and standing Jedi Grandmaster Kenth Hamner, for what? What could be so divisive that it would cause two jedi Masters to come to fatal blows? I'll tell you - A BLAST DOOR. Yep, I'm not kidding. Master Saba was trying to send the entire Stealth X wing to assist Master Luke elsewhere in the galaxy and Master Kenth was against it. His Solution? Disable the Temple blast doors of the hangar bay so the Xwings can't leave. Let me put the rest in caps - THE ENTIRE JEDI COUNCIL OF MASTERS AND MANY JEDI KNIGHTS WERE BEING THWARTED BY A DISABLED BLAST DOOR. Are these not Masters of the Force and (usually) telekinesis? Aside from that, Luke Skywalker is extrememly powerful, but sometimes in this series he gets written as a bumbling idiot, he gets tricked and outsmarted almost constantly. Luke Skywalker is the Batman of Jedi, you don't out think him, and you don't trick him, he tricks YOU.

I found myself wanting the Sith to win, I wanted these whiney, almost cowardly Jedi Masters to get wiped out. What they've done to the Jedi and the Force as a whole in this series is sad and infuriating. DelRay and these "authors" should be ashamed.

This series is ridiculous.

Star wars WAS my favorite thing in the world until someone got greedy and started pumping out all these lame 9 book series. Invincible was crap but this series as a whole should be burned and forgotten. The writing is bad and the plot is increasing and all the major events can be seen a mile away. Do yourself and your a favor and don't waste your time or money on this book. Because of this series and the train wreck that was legacy of the force star wars is dead to me I hope someone will fix it somehow but I doubt it.

I was amazed by this novel. The emotional respone that this book evoked was truly unexpected but very welcome. I had written a much longer review on my kindle but to my frustration my friend accidentally deleted it while proof-reading so none of you will ever get to read my full review. I find that my first two sentences summarize it well, though.

Another great book to continue the starwars saga. One of the first troy Denning books that was truly a great read in all areas. The kindle version was a pleasure to read and save money on the newest starwars book. Makes me even more excited for the future of starwars.
