Really, Sophie, a cliff hanger and no notice that it will be that!! I have read all of your books and enjoy the lightheartedness of each one and the memos, etc. I love Rebecca, but really to just stop the book in mid adventure, shame, shame!!

Becky continues to be a complete selfish screw-up. Plot is boring...we have seen the exact sane Carolyn Keene-esque formula in every other shopaholic book. I imagine the author combined this tripe together on her iPad during a 45-minute pedicure.

I love Sophie Kinsella and anxiously anticipate almost anything she writes! This book does not disappoint. Becky is such a lovable character that it's hard to put this book down. I admit, I own all of the Shopaholic series...does that make me a shopaholic too?

I couldn't believe the ending! Very disappionting! I love the Shopaholic books, but this was disappointing. Major plots from even the start of the book were not resolved. It's almost like all of a sudden she decided to end the book, wrapped up the main plot & left you hanging with the remainder of the plot twists. I love to read and this is probably the worst ending I've ever come across in a book.

I think we all know Becky Bloomwood Brandon by now. She's mostly shallow, but has some moments of humanity that make her tolerable as a character. In this entry, however, those moments of humanity are few and far between.

*********SPOILER ALERT**************

1. She completely ignores her best friend, Suze, when she needs her the most.
2. I did laugh when her daughter was using the word "please" in place of "mine." However, that child is a nightmare in progress.
3. Her father asks her to do one thing and she can't find the time to do it.
4. Why Luke still loves her is beyond me, but I did love his last line: "I'm your husband. If you're lost, it's up to me to come and find you."
5. And the ending sucked.

I think that this may be my last Shopaholic read.

I have been following Becky since her original debut in Shopaholic. I read other reviews and from the reviews it appeared to me that this new installment did not seem to be as good as the previous novels. I decided to purchase it anyway and I am glad that I did.

I'm not sure why there were so many negative reviews. I think that perhaps this character just would not appeal to everyone, but I was not expecting the next great American novel, just some lighthearted enjoyable reading after the darker book that I just finished.

While I have virtually nothing in common with the main character, Becky, I am highly entertained by the zany thought process of her brain and how she is able to self-justify her actions. I do not expect her character to be realistic as she is more of an amped up cariacture.

I found it to be entertaining and funny. Lighthearted and exaggerated but not banal. I feel it was just about as good any of the original series. If you're looking for some lighter reading in between some more serious novels. then I recommend this book highly.

I've loved basically all of the Shopaholic books, until this one....
I'm disappointed in the character of Becky, who became cruel and shallow in this book. In the other books, Becky had her friends' interests at heart, and she truly tried to be a good person. In this book, I didn't think that at all. Instead, she turned cruel and careless, along with the Hollywood divas she admires. She cast aside feelings of many people, and inflated her own sense of importance to a really overdone level. I know it must be tough to keep coming up with plot lines, but this one was a complete letdown. I finished the 'book' (more aptly called a prequel?) in an afternoon, and was disgusted with Becky for the majority. As for the ending-- really? A cliffhanger with no details? That's not what we expect from Sophie Kinsella. I think she cheesed out at the end of this one, maybe just to get the book out there before we forgot about our Becky. I think Ms. Kinsella would have been better off taking another 6-8 months or more and truly finishing the book. It sounds like there's a 'Danny Kovitz' story in the making.... maybe that would be a better next topic.

I was excited for another shopaholic book but was not to happy with this book. It starts off strange almost to many characters and to much going on at once then when Becky comes to her senses the book stops and says to be continued soon. Kind of short and not written to well

Spoiler alert. What a horrible ending. I forgot what other reviews had said till I got to it and POOF! The book was over. What crap. So disappointing and frustrating to be taken advantage of like that

Having previously read and enjoyed most of Sophie Kinsellas books I was looking forward to this....even though the previous Shopaholic book was somewhat disappointing...... but this will be my last one. Main character Becky is now soooo un-likeable, drove me nuts most of the book....not quite sure how/why I kept reading to the end, only to then have a 'to be continued' ending with key plot lines left unresolved - very disappointed ?

I was disappointed in this one. Becky seemed bratty, spoiled, and selfish and her daughter wasn't better. I don't like the direction either of the characters have gone in. Also the title should be part 1. In my opinion, the way this book ended is a poor and dishonest way of getting people to buy another book.

Spoiler alert, apparently this book has a sequel coming. It gives no indication until you get to the end and it says "Becky will be back soon." All and all this is a terrible book. Becky is beyond awful and it seems like she has turned into a terrible friend, wife and mother! It's so bad I have no desire to purchase another book to find out what happens!

I loved the early Shopaholic books, but this one really isn't great. . .silly story. . .silly ending. . .not the same quality as the first few. . .I will not order another in the series if there is one in the future.

Just terrible. Boring. Should have put it down
after the first chapter but have a hard time quitting a book because
I'm always sure it's going to get better. Unfortunately, this one
never did.

Ridiculous ending! So disappointed- as a best-selling author there is no need for this ploy. we are not tweeners reading The Hunger Games or the Twilight series. As readers we expect a feel good story with a satisfactory conclusion from this author. Not happy I paid full price, should have waited and got it at the half price bookstore in paperback.

I've always enjoyed reading the stories about eccentric, but kind hearted Becky Bloomwood, but this book was a real disappointment! I usually read these books within a week because they are so funny. It felt like a chore to get through this book and then when it finally ended, nothing was resolved and it was left open for another book to be written. I think Sophie Kinsella is a great writer, but should probably end the series now and focus on a new character or storyline.

Sometimes you just want an easy read/listen. This might fit the bill. If I had not read all of the other books in the series, I probably would not have picked this one up. It was perfect for my road trip with my sister, who also had read the other books in the series.

I have read the entire shopaholic series. Usually love these books as just a good easy read. This one was hard to even finish. Becky was so selfish and the author even made Americans seem so superficial. Will still read future books in this series (hopefully back to the fun shopaholic ways of Becky) but will get from the library rather that buy the book!

I, like many other reviewers before me, love Sophie Kinsella. I've read all of her books and often find them laugh-out-loud funny.

This, in many ways, was no exception. I found myself having to stifle my laughter several times when our heroine, Becky Brandon, (nee Bloomwood), finds herself in her usual scrapes. Becky is self-absorbed, as usual, but that's part of what we've grown to know and love about her. She lies to get out of her messes, but that's not a departure from the character we love.

However, I was most disappointed in the ending. The abruptness of the conclusion made me search until the very end of the book, wondering if I was missing something. All Kinsella books I've read have never been "To be continued..." but this one was. Excuse me?

I'm undoubtedly going to purchase Part 2, as I've never NOT purchased a Kinsella book. But, this was one disappointing journey.

Tread carefully, Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) fans. Disappointment is around the corner.

Yet another hilarious insight into Becky Bloomwood's (nee Brandon) life. :D :) Set in L.A with lots of amusing antics throughout the entire book... this is a must read for fans of the series!!! :)

I CAN'T W8 for the next book in the "Shopaholic" series by one of my all time fave authors!!! ;) :) :D

Utterly charming, well-developed characters, and Bex is exactly the same. This why I would follow that silly little shopaholic anywhere. Even Vegas (shudder), so don't leave us hanging another second, Sophie!

I have never reviewed a book on the store before but this was very disappointing. The book ends halfway through the story unlike the others in the series which are self contained stories. Sad to say I'm done with Becky after this one, I'm not going to pay for part 2.
