The first book "Going Underground" was a fast-paced detective thriller. This second book just plodded along. Roper solved nothing using his fantastic brain. In book one, he was solving problems in almost every chapter. I was disappointed with this novel.

The idea of an autistic detective was unusual. This concept intrigued me to read the first book and then this one. I guess the protagonist is a savant which helps him to become so interesting. I have friends with artistic grandchildren and I know these books will be on their reading list.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series. But couldn't finish this 2nd book as it has too many details and information for my little brain to comprehend. Also I found the antagonist' method of killing a little gruesome. Just my opinion.
Now I See You: A Memoir :: An Incomplete Revenge (Maisie Dobbs Book 5) :: Elegy for Eddie: A Maisie Dobbs Novel :: Mr. Churchill's Secretary: A Maggie Hope Mystery :: I See You

The mix of everyday tastes and habits almost make it a cozy read, but the sinister AI plot line prevents charm
from winning out, In fact the the high tech blather was the major flaw . The autistic hero better displays his genius and is much more interesting in more down to earth settings

Have read both books in this series (Going Underground and I Can See You) and both are excellent. Very intriguing characters, interesting plot twists and mysteries. Highly recommend to anyone who likes mysteries, or is just interested in a couple of good reads.

I was afraid the autistic detective wouldn't work. But it really added to the investigations in the series. Roper did look at the world in a different way making the inclusion of an autistic view an addition that made sense and not just included for no reason.

Once again, a wonderful mystery with Jonathan Roper and Brian Hooley at the helm. Extremely clever plot. I wish I could say I'd started to figure it out sooner, but the mystery remained for most of the book. This is the second Roper book. I look forward to any more.

I rather like the characters, Jonathan and Brian. There is someone for everyone with this "odd couple".

It's not for the "cosy" reader, but if you don't mind having things really drawn out, it's not a bad read.

Another enjoyable story in the Jonathan Roper series. The beginning is a bit difficult to understand, but worth waiting for the end. I love British police novels and I have worked with some children on the autistic spectrum and I am amazed at how they can be helped to live among us "normal" folk. I can see a bit of Jonathan Roper in each . Thanks to Michael Lease for creating him!

This second book featuring Mr. Roper's amazing abilities was as good as the first. This detective , who happens to be autistic, is sweet and funny and far ahead of the pack. The police have quuckly learned to respect him

I've read a few books featuring autistic heroes before, but Mr. Leese has combined a likeable hero, his understanding friends and co workers,as well as an outstanding plot. I enjoyed both books immensely and look forward to more of this series in the future!

Loved the first book in the series and the second doesn't disappoint. The characters are great, especially the well developed partnership between Jonathan Roper and Brian Hooley and the plot was imaginative without being unbelievable. Can't wait for further installments in this unique series.

I really liked the interaction between the characters. I have read both books and liked the first one better because I thought there was more of a storyline between the two of them than in the second book. I hope the author comes out with another one soon. I kept checking hoping to find a second one. All in all a pretty good mystery and it was different.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first Jonathan Roper book, but this one left me feeling disappointed. It dragged on for quite awhile before the the action heated up. Then it was over. I plan to read the next in the series but I'm not relying on it living up to my expectations.

So many times, a second novel spends too much time rehashing events from the first one. Not true here. The story proceeds well on its own pace without excessive reference to previous events. Outstanding and well done!

Great read! Truely a page turner will keep you guessing. The characters are well developed and you care about them. Roper's autism gives a small view into what it is like to be "different". Shows that truely we are all the same.

The mind of Jonathan is intriguing, very well detailed. The AI material, especially the chip in the brain, beautifully presented. All the characters are fully formed. Will want to read everything by Mr. lees

Another great book in the world of autistic analyst Roper and DCI Hooley. I really loved the ending with its combination of the scientific and the psychological - very interesting and thought provoking! Ready for book 3...

I had a bit of difficulty understanding “neuromorphic,” but find this series fascinating for the info on autism and the characterizations. I will recommend to my literate friends and continue reading!
