This book explores Lawrence's life in more detail and at greater length than other biographies and accords him the role he earned while doing so against modern developments.

A must for serious Lawrence junkies.

I read works specific to my needs, interests and whims and on that score it was an exceptional read. The subject was compelling, the authorship was excellent and the content provided insight and backdrop for today's tragedies and headlines.

Excellent insight into this unique character. It stays very close to Lawrence's own Seven Pillars, but explains some his writing.
The story of Lawrence 'after Arabia' as set out is also fascinating.

One of the best biographies I have read in years. At first I thought it started out with too much detail, but I persevered, figured out what Korda was doing, and ultimately, I thought it was great. Very informative, very moving. And it will help you understand today's Middle East.

What an amazing man and amazing story. One can only wonder what the Middle East situation would be today if people back then had only listened to him more. I mostly knew about Lawrence from Lean's movie, but there is SO much more to his story. I had no idea about all that Lawrence did after WWI was over, other than knowing that he reenlisted into the RAF under a false name. He certainly had his flaws, but mostly what a genius. And Korda did a great job of keeping the story flowing, and has clearly done his research, but winds the facts into a compelling story that keeps you reading. Highly recommended!

Received exactly what was advertised very quickly! Who could ask for more than that? I would highly recommend. Very simple process, easier and more reliable than searching for books at the book store only to pay too much!

Immensively articulate, well researched and so easy on the tongue to read aloud and have my wife listen as she made chutneys, marmalades and Christmas cakes in our kitchen. Wonderful and moving. C. James-Wheeler.

Outstanding biography of T E Lawrence as well as educating the readers of the history of the Middle East when first controlled by the Ottoman Empire and broken up by the Allied Forces following World War I.

In this book, surprisingly, after a spate of works discussing the phychology and inner working of the personality of T.E Lawrence, comes an insightful, well balanced view of the subject by Micheal Korda. I have read much of Korda's previous work and found that this examination of Lawrences' private life offers new insights which offer a new balanced and fair assessement of the interior motives of one of the 20th centuries most facinating and enegmatic individuals.
