In Jameson, the first novel in the Brothers in Ink series, we have two equally stubborn and controlling protagonists. This was a great hate-turns-to-love story!
Jameson and Ava haven't gotten along with each other from the time she got the city council to vote against Jameson's request to reserve parking spots for his use in front of his shop. But, now she needs his help to gain donations and publicity for a charity gala that is very important to her.Since Jameson is an up and coming tattoo artist featured in magazines and TV shows, the ladies love him.Having him as a part of the bachelor auction would help in boosting the ticket sales greatly and bring in donations for the gala.

Jameson doesn't really like Ava, whom he considers uptight. When a misunderstanding(and meddlesome brothers) causes flyers(about the auction) with his face to be posted all around town,Jameson is pissed.Upon seeing the ticket sales, Ava has know choice but to beg for Jameson's help. But Jameson is obviously not ready to do it for free.So they make a deal, where Ava(who runs an employment agency) will send an appropriate receptionist for his tattoo shop and in return he will participate in the auction.

Too bad Jameson has no intention of fulfilling the deal.He sends back all the temps with one complaint or the other.Ava has no other option but to fulfill the deal by working as the receptionist herself. She is determined to make it through the six weeks no matter how rude Jameson is to her.As they begin to work with each other, they lock horns at every turn. They are both obstinate and proud. But, neither can deny the attraction that they feel towards each other. So, will Ava manage to stick to the deal and get Jameson to fulfill his end of the bargain?Or will Jameson drive Ava away with his rude behavior and controlling tendencies?

The slow development of the relationship from mutual dislike to a wonderful connection between Ava and Jameson was very well done. They've both had difficult lives, where they have lost people dear to them and have had to step in as the eldest members of the families.I loved the Rourke brothers!!Such an amazing bunch!Their interactions were hilarious and the way they cared for each other was wonderful.I loved Ava and Jameson's backstories!

My only complaint would probably be that at times the writing felt a little choppy. When moving from one chapter to another I felt that the book lacked a certain flow. Also, it was mentioned that James was in love with Crystal(who, I guess is featured in the author's Evil Dead MC series). But, the story behind it or what Jameson felt was never clarified.
Nevertheless, this was a great book with the perfect amount of tension and well written characters! Can't wait to read Maxwell's book next!! :D

Jameson is book one in the Brothers Ink series and it is Jameson and Ava's story.

Along with his brothers, Jameson O'Rourke runs the hottest tattoo shop in town. He is the star of the industry. And he couldn't be more pleased.
Ava Hightower needs to make her charity gala and bachelor auction a success but it seems it will be a disastrous event. Her sister suggests they ask Jameson to be the bachelor auction's main attraction. But that's the last thing she wants to do.
After a misunderstanding, Jameson's face is on the flyers for the gala and Ava has to make a deal with him: she works for him as the tattoo shop receptionist until the gala, and Jameson will attend the gala and the auction. The thing is: if Ava resigns, Jameson will not help her.
Ava and Jameson couldn't be more different. Can they work together? Are they really that different?

I loved Jameson! The story hooked me from the first page and I couldn't stop reading. It has lots of laughter and steamy scenes, but also a little bit of action.
I loved the banter and the chemistry between Ava and Jameson. Totally off the charts!
I really like that the story was told from Ava's and Jameson's POVs.

Ava is a strong, smart, and independent woman, full of sass and attitude. She knows what she wants and always fought for it. She went through a lot in her life and that made her the woman she became. I loved that she didn't hold back when Jameson tried to mess with her.
I loved Jameson! At first he seems to be a jerk, but after getting to know him and his story I couldn't help but fall for him. I loved how protective he is. And his dirty mouth? HOT!

Nicole James gives us another amazing book! The story is fantastic and the characters are awesome.
I can't wait to read the rest of the Brothers Ink series and getting to know the O'Rourke brothers better.

***I received this Arc for an honest review. This ,however, plays no part in how I felt about this book.***

So as I've had a few days to think about this book I have to say it's an okay read. I wasn't loved or felt connected to the characters. I did however love the plot.

Jameson is a man who has had to deal with many things over his life and had to step up when others couldn't or wouldn't. Being the hot new tattoo artist on the block has its ups and downs. However, he never excepted it to lead him to a woman he hated and can't get enough of.
Him as a person just came off as mean. He just said what you would and wouldn't do and that was the end of it. No, conversation just do it or else. Their were other things that bother me but others will thing it's fine. And that's great but for me it didn't work.

Ava is also someone I didn't connect with. She wants to seem strong and in no need of anyone but it's not true and she's just playing at being an adult. I understand she has been through a lot as well but I don't know.

There are things she does and things that happen to her that I see as something that could have been fixed within minutes. There were holes in the story, like when her door gets sprayed painted. Would a neighbor have seen it and called it in. A person you don't want in your place of business wouldn't you get them banned? It's just little things like that.

I wish I could have felt some passion between these to but I felt nothing. It just seemed bland to me. :/

I'm not trying to be mean I just want more.
I wouldn't say not to give this book a try because the plot is a good one and I think many will like it. It just wasn't for me.

Well the cover is hot, hot, hot!!! Jameson is just so so. On the bad boy tattooed dominant scale.. mild to low medium. Interesting storyline, just some of the directions the author went with were unnecessary and unfilled, I.e biker stalker that just poof was taken care of, Jameson stalker girl just all of a sudden nothing more mentioned about her..WTF?? If you introduce characters and story lines at least wrap them up or leave them out of the story all together! I loved all the O'Rourk brothers each come with their own brand of Hottness. I just didn't feel emerged in the story or characters. To me the story was good, it just couldn't get to that great factor. I mean even the sex scenes were just ok. So my review for this book is its a mediocre read with a cast of good characters. I probably won't read the rest if the series.

Okay....so the cover is definitely a FIVE STAR for me.. Although this is a stand alone (Spin off) I will go grab the original series where we meet Jameson so I can get some back story.

For the most part, I did enjoy this story. I loved the h and her take no crap attitude. I felt the way she ended up at the Tattoo shop to work and just leaving her own business to be ran by her sister was kind of strange.

I loved Jameson. He was definitely a hottie/alpha that I wouldn't mind working for =)

I enjoyed the tension between them. The way they danced around their attraction for each other. I enjoyed the brothers and look forward to seeing what Nicole has in store for their own stories.

I think there was a bit missing though. I really wanted a bit more drama when it came to several "stalkers" we are introduced to. Like one minute they are there and the next Poof!

For me it had potential to be AWESOME! Don't get me wrong... I enjoyed it. I just wanted a teeny tiny bit more drama and not so much of the same thing as far as her going to work and them dancing around their attraction.

I do recommend you grab it and read it because it was a decent read.

Ava Hightower and her sister Stephanie, run a business in town that hire's people to work at the many employers that need employees. She is also a councilwoman and in the middle of planning a Gala Charity Event that will help raise money for a charity that is dear to her heart. The problem being they need someone big to be the star of the night and the headliner for her Bachelor Auction. She thought she knew just who it could be, but he is having no part of it. He refuses to be apart of her event. She needs him to change his mind, he will draw the money in for sure.
Jameson O'Rourke has the premier Tattoo shop in town, his designs and artwork are in the forefront of his business and he is so popular that in even Hollywood wants him for a show. All he really cares about though is his family. His three brothers work with him, him being the oldest has taken care of his brothers all his life. Their parents both passed early in their life and he was left to bring them up. So when Ava tried to get him to do the event, her sister thinking she already had talked him into it. Sent out all the flyers to be printed and had the application signed. Not knowing he didn't sign it but his brother did. How is Ava going to actually get him to agree to this after he finds out his brother signed for him? This has been a great read from beginning to end. I was hooked on the first page.

When I first read about the ORourke brothers I was hoping they would get their own series, four brothers who work's in a tattoo shop named Brother Ink, yep I want to read that.

Jameson is a bossy, rude insufferable man, the best person to pair him with is a girl who won't take his crap.

Jameson and Ava both had a similar upbringing, they are the older sibling who had to step in and take care of their younger siblings. The respect the brothers have for Jameson because he worked hard to make sure they weren't split up after their parent death is admirable.

I loved his straightforward persona he's bossy, hot-tempered, hot-headed intimidating, stubborn and gorgeous with an Irish temper. He likes things his way or the highway, he likes to be in control

Self-described as I'm Irish with a temper I wished Ava was more feisty when she was dealing with Jameson, I felt she wimped out a lot when it came to going head to head with him. I loved the first instalment of this series and can't wait to dive into the rest of the brother's story.

I loved reading this book, from the very beginning these 2 Jameson and Ava were at each others throats for she wanted him to be in her charity bachelor auction and so he agreed only if she would work for him, and so he started making it hard so she would quit, little did he know she's not a quitter. He's the only of the famous tattoo shop with his 3 other brothers, Liam, Max and Rory who he raised and Jamie likes to be in control. As the story goes Jameson and Ava have this chemistry that they both are fighting until the night a biker is in Ava's apartment and attacks her and Max rerturns to her apartment and gets rid of him but Jameson spends the night with Ava and from that night their feelings come alive, and of course they all attend the auction of course theirs a bump in the road for Ava and Jameson for he gets auction off for $5,000 and from and old flame and she thinks he's moving to Calfornia to open another shop but that's not true, of course there's a happy ending! I love all her books and I fall in love with her hero's.

**Carla's Five Star Review

After losing his parents, Jameson stepped up to take care of his younger brothers. His goal was to do whatever he had to do to keep his brothers out of the foster care system, and he did it. Now he is a well known tattoo artist and owner of the wildly popular Brothers Ink Tattoo Shop.

Jameson is a bossy insufferable man! While his bark is a lot worse than his bite, he still needs a woman who will stand toe to toe with him. This is where Ava comes in. Ava is feisty and full of sass. As the story progresses, Jameson and Ava butt heads a lot. They are each attracted to one another, but boy do they ever fight it. It takes some time, but they eventually give into the attraction they share. Is it possible for two people who have to be in control to be in a long term relationship?

I fell head over heels for Jameson and Ava. They had a lot in common, and I thought they were perfect for each other. I also loved all of the other O'Rourke brothers, and I look forward to reading more about them in the future!

This book was good but I thought something was missing for me. I'm not entirely sure what it was though. I loved that we get both povs, which turns into some comical moments in my opinion. Jameson's brothers are a hoot! They give him advice and in their own way help him out with Ava. Jameson has made a name for himself and has protected his family as he could.
Ava is the same way. She's the oldest and after tragedy strikes her family, she becomes protective of her younger sister. She is independent and strong headed which is good for a guy like Jameson. I love their banter and how Ava never backs down. She gives it to him just as much as he gives to her. She challenges him to make changes and let go. He on the other does the same. He protects her when bad guys come and shows her how much he cares. Jameson is stubborn Burt eventually he softens his heart. This was a really good book and I can't wait to read more from this series.

4.5 stars

Nicole James is brilliant in her writing. Her characters are real and so believable that its easy to get lost inside the pages of this book.
At first I didn't think I was going to like Jameson very much. Truthfully he seemed a little a$$holish, but as I learned his story....I truly understood what he was feeling.
Too bad. Brother's Ink isn't a real place. I really want to meet Max and Rory.
Ava won my respect and my heart with her never give up attitude and her ability to hand Jameson back some of the BS he so readily threw at her. A strong, tough woman is exactly what Jameson needs in his life.
I've read this author and knew her to be amazing.
Jameson has all the drama and angst a story about family needs. But it also has humor and the obvious love these brothers have for each other will touch your heart.
Once again Nicole James has given us a book that has it all.

I really liked this book. I love MC Romance books and this book included a touch of that which I enjoyed. At first Jamison O'Rourke appears to be a mean moody @$$hole! He raised his 3 brothers after their parents are killed in a car accident. Starting his own family business to provide. Ava is a hard-working woman who gives her all to everything she undertakes, including building her own business and sitting on the city council. Raising her sisters after their parents died, and then loosing her youngest sister to illness. She is busy planning the annual fundraiser for the charity she started in memory of her sister Lily. An event planned for the fundraiser brings Ava and Jamison in each other's lives and thus setting in motion the makings for a beautiful relationship!

This book was just incredible! I LOVE the chemistry and love/hate feeling between these two. Both are so stubborn and used to getting their way. As well as sacrificing for their families. Jameson is rough around the edges but man that heart of his is pure gold. Ava is such a strong character and just the perfect person to handle him.

I fell for the O'rourke family in this book and i will be hooked until this series is over. Great writing. Incredible characters. A story that is sexy, sweet, heart wrenching, and absolutely beautiful.

Nicole did it AGAIN!!!! Another 5 star book. This story like all the others have EVERYTHING in it. First there's Jameson O"Rouke....sexy bad boy with a body to kill for, tattoos to die for and a business that others envy. He's not your typical alpha bad boy. He will make you want him, need him and hate him all at once without even trying. Then there's Ava Hightower, she's blonde, beautiful and classy. Bad Boy Jameson and Classy Ava collide for an amazing roller coaster. You will feel the love, sadness, hate, envy, guilt, power, doubt, success, jealousy and then back to love again. This book will make you want more of Jameson and Ava!!!! Happy Reading

I love this book. Well any book by Nicole. Jameson and Ava are both as stubborn as they come. From two different worlds both hellbent on not bending and showing weakness to the other. I love how their relationship, hate then love, develops. They are both so similar and when they realize how similar they are is when their relationship takes a turn. Jameson is so protective of her even when he "hates" her. I love all the brothers and love the sample at the end. Cannot wait to read hopefully about all of them.

Woooooooah. Jameson and Ava, if you like dark, deep, real, steamy romances, this book is totally for you. This is my first book by this author and I love her writing style. The tension between the two main characters was practically radiating from the pages. Read it!

Jameson and Ava area cute couple that will have you turning the pages with a smile. I found the story well written. The author did a good job holding your attention with th twist should put in the story, yet never really followed up with the story. Gave you a simple explanation a move on. In my opinion, I wish the author would have given bit more on on those details.
Over all good read.

It was well written, and a quick read. The steamy bits were SFW. Not overly explained. More implied really. This book was a CW drama. Beautiful people, lots of intense staring, and brooding, but not a lot of character development and no real problems to get past except for garbage communication between uptight lady and tattoo guy. I'm sure this is part one of a series but I don't feel invested in the characters enough to keep reading.
