This book (the entire series, in fact) was excellent! I couldn't put it down; it had me up at all hours of the night when I should have been sleeping and neglecting things during the day that probably should have had priority. If you want an adventure, read Faefever (after the previous Fever Series books). This one was my favorite.

Not at all what I expected from her previous books, this series has a much darker edge. At the beginning, the main character, Mac, was hard for me to relate to, being so 'pretty-perfect-in-pink.' But, as time went on, she grew on me with all the struggles she overcame. Much more than a piece of fluff!

The stories never go anywhere. It lags and lags and there is no expectation for anything new to happen. Same old stuff from the beginning of the series to the third book. Disappointing. Costly when you read a series that just doesn't go anywhere.
Into the Dreaming (with bonus material) (Highlander Book 8) :: Eventide (Plainsong 2) by Kent Haruf (2013-04-11) :: The Tie That Binds by Kent Haruf (2000-03-01) :: Benediction (Vintage Contemporaries) :: A Paranormal Space Fantasy (Messenger Chronicles Book 1)

Excellent writing on almost every level, but very odd delivery. Here's what I mean. This book tells a terrific story with a wonderfully new, broody setting. Secondary characters are fascinating and very well written. Plotting is superb with good research into Celtic mythos and some nice spins on current yore. But this is almost the last book--and let's face it--we are going nowhere fast. I don't know much more than I did three books ago and that is very frustrating. I want information, movement, seduction and romance. Not just being strung along until next time. I promise to buy next time, but couldn't I have just a little more THIS time? Still on board with the series but, very grumpy.

I see both sides of the issues regarding this book. I enjoyed it and would recommend it because I enjoy the series but also agree that it's transitional and not a lot of substance happens until the end (could easily have been split between books 2 and 4). I agree that a book should be able to stand alone (since you pay for it as a stand alone) as well as advancing the series storyline. I don't think this book succeeded there. I also hated the ending but agree it's the writer's perogative - but she could have been sensitive to leaving the readers here for another year. Lastly, I too am disappointed in the lack of substantive romance and the few pages with JBB. Lastly, it's all well and good for KMM to say it's not a romance but it's tagged as romance and sold in the romance sections of the bookstores as well as online!! And it ties in to the Highlander romance series. IMHO you can't have it both ways! If she didn't want this to be paranormal romance she could written it without Highlander tie ins under another name to avoid confusing the existing loyal fans.

These books are a little childish, but I still loved reading them. They are definitely what I consider "filler" books, not life-changing or really full of much substance, but fun reads. I think we all want a Jericho. Mmm. lol I pretty much kept reading these waiting foe the scenes between them.

Like others, I almost didn't read the second book in this series because the heroine really got on my last nerve in the first book. I like kick-ass chicks not whiny valley girls, but she really decided to put up and shut up and the series is great!

FaeFever is the third installment of the series, whereby Mac continues to search for LM who killed her sister. In this book, Mac continues to learn more about her people while trying to save the world and find the book. She finally finds the book, but realizes she can't touch it and neither can anyone else. This was my least favorite of the 3 books, because the ending just leaves the reader hanging.....is Mac now a Pri-ya. It's still a great book, but the ending will leave you Needing to read the fourth book...DreamFever.

This series was a really fun and relaxing (and completely addictive almost to a fault) read perfect for summertime! I accidentally started with the second book and went back to the first, but even still, I could not put the books down from the first page to the last! Every book ended with a cliffhanger, so I found myself immediately ordering the e-book as soon as I finished the last sentence of each book. The whole series was imaginative and well-written!

I first became interested in the author from her time-travel romances featuring the MacKelter clan. They were light, fun, and funny. When the Fever set came along I was very interested in the concept - 6 intertwined stories about a few months in time for one woman and her progression toward self-discovery. The first 2 were great reads with just enough humor and sensuality to keep you interested by playing the "who will Mac end up with" game. I was eager to get this latest installment as it had been some time since the last. I didn't have the recall issues mentioned in other reviews - however if, as the author sets out, this is a story already written the wait was too long.

That being said, I think I really could have waited for this one or even done without. As mentioned the story was short on anything but getting some more loose ends out there and possibly making us more sympathetic to the male characters who make Mac crazy on a daily basis. The one high light was of course the MacHalo which was just priceless to visualize. But all of the fun and merit was stripped away in the closing paragraphs of the book. The phycologically brutal scene was hard to read as a women who, through reading the previous books, knows only too well what is happening. This is made worse by the cliffhanger ending. I finished it three days ago and I still have a lingering bad taste in my mouth from it. In fact, I am considering not finishing the saga simply because there is no hope left for the reader that Mac will pull through this - other than her narration of the story as past events - and if she does pull through it won't be without the vehical of mental and physical abuse of the most heinous and deplorable nature - a read I don't really need for such a fluffly book in all other respects.

The end of this book left me seriously pissed. I love KMM's books and have really enjoyed this series, even though the development of Mac's relationships with JZB and PV move at a snail's pace. As I read the last couple of pages in this book I kept wondering where is JZB? Where is PV? Why has Mac been abandoned? The ending was so frustrating. I felt it was just a set up for the next book. This was my main reason for the 4 star and not the 5 star rating I wanted to give it. Its still a good read and fans of this series shouldn't miss it. Just don't plan to finish it right before bed. You'll be too steamed to sleep - and not in a good way.

I never buy books (always use the public library) but I absolutely LOVED this series and wanted to re-read it to pick up subtle events I may have missed when I read it the first time. There is so much more than just the action that occurs - a lot of philosophy and appreciation of what we have and how quickly life and change.
