As always, anything Betty crocker is worth the money. lots of newer recipes for today's cooking, lots of tips for cooking utensils as well. A new young homemaker could use this book as directions in learning how to cook for a family.

I had an earlier edition in college 45 years ago. it was the basis of the entire dinner fare when it was my turn to cook for the roommates. I still have it and , if you ask me how long to cook the meat, that is where I find the answer. I recently got this new edition for a young college student and hope that it is going to the same good, if somewhat utilitarian, use.

I bought 4 for wedding presents. The first couple who received theirs, loved it and I was pleased they like it. I used the original Betty Crocker Cookbook over 50 years ago & still use it. You can't go wrong with Betty Crocker.

This is a great addition to any cook's collection. I too, love my older Betty Crocker cookbooks - and I have several which I do use and refer to often. This book, however, is a cut above the rest! It has a huge range of recipes, detailed instructions, and tons of beautiful photographs that will inspire you to cook every day of the week. Whether you are looking for something quick and simple for a weeknight dinner, something scrumptious for brunch, an elegant meal for a special occasion, or a lovely dessert ... you will find a perfect recipe in this book. Betty Crocker just gets better with age, and will never go out of style - Go Betty!!

I have the second edition from 1951 practically memorized. This new book is such fun to read through and see all the new ways to prepare things with the microwave, steamer, stir frying -- all stuff that wasn't in the old book or even the other Betty Crocker books I've bought since (Cooking for Two, Microwave Cooking, the 3-ring binder version of the Picture Cookbook). I like the layout of this. The book fits on regular bookshelves, lies flat and doesn't have all the subject matter tabs sticking out. I find this much easier to use, though I wish the table of contents page was laminated to make I easier to find while I'm learning my way around the book.

Glad I have an OLDER version of this book because some of my favorite recipes are now listed as "LOW CALORIE"! I would have preferred they posted regular and low calorie versions of selected recipes. I thought I was getting original recipes with some new ones. I'm disappointed that I will have to go back to my OLDER Betty Crocker book for original recipes. Low cal, great but not EVERY RECIPE needs to be low calorie. They REALLY should have published the originals with LO CAL options if that is what the cook wanted.

Our daughter had wanted this cookbook for Christmas, since she saw the recipe for Artisan Asiago Bread, at a cottage that we rent in Robbinsville, NC last summer. She went right to work using it, and has produced the bread twice, as well as some delicious maple-pecan chicken, and some vegetable dishes. She is really developing into a great cook, and is thoroughly enjoying her new cookbook!

Wife absolutely loves it! Very well written and lots of new up to date recipes. Main issue with quality is we found a few pages that were mis-cut or had the corners missing in production. Paper quality is very thin. May not hold up to years of use.

This recipe book is a must have. The recipes look delicious and there are a lot of pictures that help you choose what to make. There are a lot of cooking tips inside which have helped me improve my cooking. Also the binding is nice. You can take out the page you want so you don't have to have the whole book next to you while cooking (convenient for me since my kitchen is small). I would recommend this to people who like cooking.

Bought this for my daughter. She is a baking fiend. This is her Bible now. There are tons of recipes. There are also general knowledge sections which are very cool. For example, there is a two page section with just about every kind of pasta pictured and named. This book has more recipes than you'll probably ever get to, but they are well explained, with full color pictures and it is loads of fun to work your through the book. Have fun!

Betty Crocker is the best cookbook! I love this new version! I have an older version, that is I still use. I needed an updated version, with new recipes. I especially like how it has the spiral notebook style. I don't have a lot of counter space and with this new version, I can take just the page out that the recipe is on. Way to go Betty!

This was a Christmas gift for my mother. Her old Betty Crocker cookbook was falling apart. She really needed a new one but I know one thing she will never get rid of it even though she has a new one.
