I was disappointed in this book, Weiting simplistic and not fully deeloped. Charactersvwere 2 dimensional and jumped from 1 scene to another. The love interest of the main characterbseemed more like a brother sister relationship. Not worth the money. Wait till it comes down in price and then buy it if you want to read it.

Great story! Hope she continues this line of more exciting storytelling. I read a lot of her books and at sone point they turn predictable and with the same type of beautifull girl as heroin, but this one surprised me. Loved it! I will continue buying her books!

I really enjoyed this book.Danielle Steel usually writes contemporary novels. This is different. It takes place in early 1900.Also most of the story takes place in England and France. I enjoyed learning about the customs in this time period.
From a Paris Balcony :: A Historical Regency Romance Novel - The Governess Who Stole My Heart :: The Ionian Mission (Vol. Book 8) (Aubrey/Maturin Novels) :: H. M. S. Surprise (Aubrey / Maturin) :: A Novel (Malory-Anderson Family Book 12) - Beautiful Tempest

Danielle Steel writes good stories. I have read about 20 of them over the years, mostly as a young adult. But she tends to drag out her books by repeating herself like her readers are dummies. Please Danielle, stop doing that.

Danielle Steel is a wonderful author. I have read all of her books and have enjoyed them all. The duchess is a transportation back in time and the details are so informative you feel as if you know the exact place the story is taking place.

The story is almost all telling. Not good writing. The class snobbery was unbearable—it went beyond the characters assuming those of noble birth were superior to the narrator stating this as a fact—which made me want to throw the book at the wall in the early chapters. I struggled through the stuffy writing and stuck-up narration. More dialogue and less presumption that having titled relatives made you a superior person and this could have been a great book.
