While I know much of the "wiccan" community abhors Silver Ravenwolf's writing, I have always found that she is far more realistic than the vast majority of other so called authors out there. I would rather have one or Two of Silvers books than the entire set of most of the wiccan communities fluffier than thou fave's. She is inclined to show balance, rather than a falsified sense of hyper light is right idiocy.

I love the book.
Some people said that is complicate. But what in the live is not? Is more easy if you read the other book of the author
My firsth language is not english but I don't think that the vocabulary is too complicate.

I found this book full on bite sized information. It isn't a book you read from cover to cover, but it is an organized reference tool. I was written for the reader who may be too busy to do any major reading, but it give enough info on so many subjects, plus website and other books are given through out so when you do get time, you can do a more through study of a particular subject.

Honestly I would ONLY suggest this for BEGINNERS. Silver race wolf has some good things but over all her writings are very misleading and incorrect. Take what she writes with a grain of salt. This book has cool information, but just take note that you don't HAVE to do everything how she says in the book, make your craft your own. Witchcraft is a spiritual path not a religion

Shipping was slow, and book is ok. Haven't gotten all the way through it yet but contains a lot of information about wicca. Has a slightly more religious feel to it than I prefer, but if you ignore it, great book for any beginner and referencing information.

This should be coupled with silver's earlier books to fully understand everything. It may sound like you're reading a teen vogue, but she takes her time to really explain things. good for the beginner

This is the first book by Silver RavenWolf that I have read and I must say, it's really, really good. All of the information that's provided in the book is sound and very helpful. It's very easy to understand and read. I'd say this this a must for any serious Wiccan.

I would recommend this book to every one. From beginners to advanced, everyone should have this book because it is a wonderful reference book. This will probably be the most used book in my house. It has everything from spells, tarot cards, runes, holiday information, and just about every single thing that a wiccan needs to know. This book is well worth the price. I recommend that you buy it. Just look how many pages it has! This book is worth the price you will pay for it.

I was enormously pleased with my book when it arrived! It came a few days early than expected which really cheered me up.
I love older books with personality and character (used, battered, and handled are the best).
Marginalia are my favorite things in the world and my book came with "authentic water damage" too. I love that book very much And if you like older books that have seen some use and love, you will love this.

I received my purchase quickly. The book was brand new, but slightly bent from the packaging. All I did was place it under a heavy book for a day and it straightened out the book. Very useful information within this book and easy to read.

Ms. RavenWolf mistakenly assumes that anyone who is new is automatically a teenager. And so talks "down" to you that I think even a teenager would find insulted.. For example under the section Achame, Bolline, Dagger and Sword. the first sentence is (Better known as sharp, pointy stuff) If you do not mind being talked to as if you are totally brainless, this book is for you. I would of given it a higher review for the knowledge that is in it. But I am getting more insulated the more I read the book. So much so where I might not finish reading that book, I am sure I will not be buying anymore books written by her, and will not recommend reading for anyone above the ago of 8,

I purchased this book because my neighbor said it was great and her mom had it. After reading the book I found that it is indeed a great book. However it is more focused toward the Teen witch. Most of the writing is telling the reader to ask their parent or talks about how the readers parents feel. Although a lot of the book focuses on this I found that I do like some of the material and found some to be helpful. It's a good book it should just be less focused on the teen and more on all solitary witches.

I was expecting much more after reading the hard copy of the same titles book lent to me by a friend. This book, however, isn't half as informative. It has a chapter about sex. Nothing magickal about it. Really informative about herbs and basic spells, but I wouldn't recommend this book to serious practicers.

While this book does contain some useful information, it can be misleading in some ways. An ready knowledgeable witch can determine what is real vs for show but if you are knowledgeable you really don't need this book. It's like Wicca 101 on acid. You just don't know what's real. She was the 1st author I read (to ride a Silver broomstick) but I grew up pagan I was like 10.I definitely recommend Buckland or Cunningham to start for real meaty information. Silver raven wolf is more for playing dress up.

This was the first time doing business with this company. Not only was it out quicker than I had anticipated but I was given a tracking number to watch it's progress to me. I will definitely be using this company next time I get something through the store.

I am neither, but quite familiar with both. The two are not only completely at odds—they are adversarial.
Wicca teaches love and respect for nature. Christianity teaches that the earth and every creature on it was created to be used and abused by man.
Wicca teaches deep respect for the feminine. Christianity teaches women are under the dominon of men.
The Old Testament God is petty, jealous, and vengeful, and proud of it. If you want to know the extent, read only the Book of Job.
Or the 10 Commandments? Thou shalt not kill. But in the very next chapter, God commands his followers to slay the Canaanites.
The Wiccan Goddess states, "My love is poured out upon the Earth."
I could continue this for awhile. As I said, I'm knowledgeable regarding both. The two are natural enemies.
As for teaching children—teenagers are not "children " in that sense. They think for themselves, unless they have been damaged by severe abuse. But in any case, I doubt they will be harmed by exposure to religions that don't think it's cute to teach a two year old to parrot words about dying in his sleep, (the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep prayer), every night at bedtime.
However, Wicca and Witchraft are NOT interchangeable terms. Wicca is a religion. Witchraft is a practice.
Caveat: in case you missed it, I consider Christianity and all Abrahamic religions to be an abomination on the Earth and all its creatures.

I stayed away from Silver RavenWolf's books for the past 4 years that I've been interested in witchcraft. There seemed to be so much hate about her going commercial. Plus I know I'm not a Wiccan. Luckily, RavenWolf's doesn't seem to be one either. Atleast not a strict one. But she has her roots and knows witchcraf especially the soul of it which is the most important part. I only started practicing last year but I read ALOT ans have taken classes. I have to say I don't see what the hate is all about. From the very first chapter she's giving you LEGITAMITE guidance on how to bless yourself, your objects and gifts. There are a lot of books that wait forever before telling you something you can use or over allude or complicate the matter. There is a lot of history in this book but more importantly, she writes in a way that you can use. Very practical. I got the audiobook through audible. I would highly reccomend.

Please don't buy this book. Do yourself a favor and pick up Buckland's Complete Witchcraft or Cunningham's Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner. Or just read random stuff on the internet. Its probably better researched and - le gasp! - might actually cite its sources.
