The Negotiator by Avery Flynn.....10 NEGOTIATOR STARS!! I loved this story so much, as always Avery Flynn gives us a fun page turning book. Clover is a beautiful strong woman that teaches Sawyer a thing or two. Sawyer is my new book boyfriend, so hot and rich. I loves seeing this story play out, such a fun feel good book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.

The Negotiator by Avery Flynn is a standalone romantic comedy that will definitely have you laughing out loud in parts. Steamy, sexy, sassy, and super-funny, this book was an amazing read.
Sawyer is all business, all the time. In an effort to divert his mothers matchmaking attempts his well-meaning brother hires a "buffer". A person to divert the matchmaking and frequent interruptions in his work day so he can get back to business all the time. Sawyer is blown completely out of his comfort level with Clover who is all business and spark but only for as long as it gets her to her next goal in life. With some crazy jobs under her belt, this isn't anywhere close to the most bizarre, but it is the most dangerous, at least as far as her heart is concerned.
Loved this so much. It was funny and intriguing and flowed well with each page - the story didn't lag or leave you wondering when the good stuff was gonna start. Will definitely read more form this author! Enjoy!

Sawyyer is a buttoned down business type that is all work-no play. Cliver couldn't be more opposite. She's adventurous, spontaneous and flurty. His brother comes up with a crazy scheme to keep Sawyer's mother from parading potential brides in front of him. The scheme turns into a spur of the moment fake proposal and it's all downhill from there.
This is a lighthearted, fun, enjoyable book to read. Good characters and storyline.

Great story, very well written, and unlike some ebooks, very well edited and proofed. Part of the characterization hit home for me, as my own mother seemed to have given up alot to marry my father. I wish I could have read this way back when I was in my early twenties, but that was a long time ago and we did not have books like these in the 70s! The last few chapters really spoke to me. Going on to the next in the series.

This ranks right up there with the best books ever! Ms. Flynn is a superb writer with a command of simile that is unsurpassed. Enthralling story, fully-developed characters, out-of-this-world-perfect dialogue, and plot lines that don't quit. You can't ask for a more entertaining and heartening read. This is one book you'll absolutely love.

Great read! Loved both Characters. She was so much more than a woman who flitted from place to place, not wanting to be tied down. He needed to have a life outside of empire building. They were funny and meshed so well! Loved their family dynamics; it made them the people they were today. Good job Avery Flynn!

Sawyer and Clover will make you laugh and cry. Sawyer is a pretty tight laced strictly business man. Clover Lee is very smart but never keeps a job long on purpose. You put these two together with a fake engagement plan and look out at all that can happen. Avery Flynn has written a very enjoyable read!

What a delightful book. The hero and heroine are fully developed, as are the secondary characters. The dialogue is original and witty. I laughed and giggled a lot while reading this. But it's also touching and very sexy. If you enjoy fast-paced, clever, sexy love stories, look no further.

Right from the very first sentence, I laughed out loud. Very entertaining. Sawyer seems like he is a bit stiff and staid. Until Clover opens him up. There are some sexy scenes. Love the strong heroine. Looking For a great Read, then this is the book! From a new Fan... Pam James.

I had a 9 hour transatlantic flight, and thanks to Avery Flynn’s “The Negotiator”, it made my flight literally fly by. I could not put this book down!! This story is extremely sexy, well-constructed and a surprising twist on your contemporary romance with your classic hot, sexy, workaholic billionaire CEO with a sassy, clever, attractive female assistant, or in this case, Personal Buffer.
Sawyer Carlyle has inherited the position of CEO of the Carlyle conglomerate due to the untimely death of his father. His mother, dealing with her grief in an unorthodox manner, has become obsessed with marrying off our single Sawyer, and is constantly throwing marriage candidates his way. Sawyer is focused on more important things, like running his father’s company and the “big picture” to take on a wife. He comments that he needs someone…..a buffer….to run interference to keep his meddling mother away. As a joke, his brother, Hudson runs an ad for just such a person, and thus enters Jane “Clover” Lee, who immediately shows Sawyer she is up to the task even before she is hired. Clover if full of wit and sass and is a “take life as it comes” individual. She does not want to be tied down or miss anything life has to offer so she is constantly on the lookout for a new adventure even before the one she is on comes to an end. Being a Personal Buffer sounds like the perfect “next” adventure to her and before you know it, being a Personal Buffer gets very personal…..like becoming a Fake Fiancée.
And this is where the story really takes off. The chemistry, the banter, the constant negotiations between our lead characters is amazing as they move through their “fake” relationship. Ms. Avery has done an outstanding job in developing the characters, giving us background, and making them not only likable, but believable. We all know the old adage of “opposites attract” which Sawyer and Clover definitely have with their polar opposite personalities, but Ms. Avery has cleverly woven in their likenesses to one another (the need to negotiate constantly) that is the glue fighting to keep them together. The sex between the characters is also sexy and sensual one moment and then steamy and erotic the next adding to their attraction.
Now, a lot of readers will think that the title was named for our lead female character Clover because she does negotiate a LOT, with Sawyer, with friends, with family, with just about everything in her life. And they could be right. But I think a lot will be lost if the reader does not take into account that just about every character in this book negotiates…..Sawyer in his business and with Clover; his brother Hudson as to his life and how to stay out of the Carlyle business; Sawyer’s mother in trying to get Sawyer to entertain any of the marriage candidates for consideration; even Clover’s parents in maintaining their happy marriage which Clover doesn’t even see. I think the list is endless as to how many “negotiators” there really are in this story, so I think the title refers to just about everyone in this story.
The right mix of fantasy fulfillment and hot steamy romance in this book had me right up until the end of the story. Not for the free wine, the reclining Business Class seat or the hot towels they hand out before a meal, would I put this book down. I just wish that there had been a sequel I could have read on the return flight.

The first three chapters have not grabbed me so I'm just going to set this one aside. Too bad the store doesn't allow for returns or this one would go back. The premise of the whole story is a stretch and Clover (really? ...Clover?) is a flake. I can't kill anymore brain cells with this story. Buy buy!

Holy smoking hotness. These two are combustible. The Negotiator is a delightfully sexy romp that has all the right elements to charm and seduce and sweep you right into the romance. Sawyer and Clover are an unlikely pairing that click and contrast in the best possible ways. The settings and supporting characters infuse couture and tension and warmth and a touchstone of home without feeling overbearing or boring. I devoured this book in less than a day, and it wasn't even on my review list!
Treat yourself to an easy read that will have you laughing and sympathizing and wanting to reach through your reader to give the characters a big ole hug. The Negotiator is a GraveTells Recommended Read!
