This book was hilarious. You pretty much guess how it’s ending from page 5 or 6… but getting there is truly funny!
The bantering is great, witty, and irresistible.
This book is a quick, happy, and easy read. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a literary romantic gateway.
There’s one xrated scene towards the end, if you’re not into that skip a few pages, the story is great anyway.

Predictable premise, boring execution, passionless and unimaginative writing. Romance is bland and main characters uninteresting. Honestly don't know what Kate sees in Jake and why make the big sacrifice for somebody like that? Hard to believe she loves him after a week.

This book had me laughing from almost the very first page! I loved the way Kate and Jake "met". Kate's dates were-of course-the best parts of the book. I was laughing out loud every time she'd go on a date because she ALWAYS had some kind of bad luck. And Jake was almost ALWAYS there, too! I'm laughing out loud just thinking about some of his reactions. For example, saving someone from drowning, giving CPR, and loading another one into his truck to take him to the hospital. Near the middle-ending of the book, Kate (luckily for the guests) stops dating, and concentrates on her attraction for Jake. I've read three other books by Jennifer Crusie, and this one is by far the funniest! But then, she always keeps her readers laughing. Definently a keeper!
The Negotiator (A Hot Romantic Comedy) (Harbor City) :: Fast Women: A Novel :: Heroes Are My Weakness: A Novel :: Faking It (Dempsey Book 2) :: Tempt Me With Forever (A NOLA Heart Novel Book 4)

Really good for this genre-- light romance. Likable characters. Humerous.

I read this at a perfect time-- on an airplane that got diverted due to bad weather.
It was perfect because the book kept me occupied and happy and was light and fast reading so I did not have to concentrate very hard.
I laughed out loud several times while reading it! Excellent mood-lifter when on a bumpy delayed plane ride!
Length was perfect too--I finished the book as we landed at our final destination (about 4 hours after take-off).

I have read several of this authors later books-- and this is my favorite so far! (Though I am partial to the dog Fred in another fun romance by this author, "Anyone but You").

This is my third Jennifer Crusie book. The first two were Bet Me and Strange Bedperson. Jennifer is my go to writer everytime I feel like reading something romantic, light and funny. Since it is the Valentine's week and after my previous book blog post. I decided to go pure entertainment. A book without any other agenda but to entertain. A fun and easy to read book.
Kate is a successful businesswoman and attractive. After three failed engagements, she and a friend organized and planned for Kate to go manhunting in a cabin resort where rich, eligible bachelors frequently stay. Yet, even a perfect plan can sometimes not work as well in real life. She did meet a lot of interested bachelors. She also met Jake who always have to save men from Kate.

I heard Jennifer C. mention this book with the caution to us that it was one of her early ones. That doesn't mean it's not a very enjoyable read! Of course (it's Crusie!) it's very funny and yes, a tad predictable, but the characters are great, engaging, warm, and people whom I'd love to know. The sexual tension is fabulous, and many of the members of my writing group just have to say "mashed potatoes" to each other to start a wave of laughter.
Some books you look back on and say, "I wasted x hours reading that!" Hours with this book will be ones you'll remember fondly. Buy it!

I'm just discovering Crusie's books from the early '90s and it is easy to see why she became one of the most beloved writers in the romance genre. Manhunting is her first book -- it's not exciting and has no mystery plot like her other books, but somehow is one of the most charming, funny and witty stories I've read! Like our couple Kate and Jake, this book is so relaxed that you, too, feel like you're lazing along a calm, sunny lake. The dialogue is superior and fuels the attraction between the two, a true, lovely romance novel. This book demonstrates why Crusie is head and shoulders above the rest.

This book was great. I loved the storyline, the banter, and the dialogue never got dull. I now own 3 of Jennifer Crusie's novels and I have not yet been disappointed. This was the first one I read and after I did not want to read anything by anyone else. I loved the characters, especially Kate and Jake. I can find people in my own life and in my small home town who fit these personalities. This is a wonderful novel for someone who likes romance but does not like the cheesey overly mushy stuff. If you like a pick-me-up kind of story with a contemporary edge and love the idea of true love and learning not to settle you will love this book. I read this when I was feeling down about my love life and it made me feel more optimistic. There is also a lot about career and finding and doing what you really want to do.

Read this 4 days (?), maybe almost a week ago and when prompted for a review, I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was about. Had to look it up. Bottom line for me...was an okay read. Nothing memorable here. A solid 3 1/2 stars.

I loved this book. Since I started reading the book from the beginning I literally could not put it down. It was hilarious and at moments kinda sad, but it kept me reading page after page. The sex scenes were described awesomely! I was soo happy at the end I think I almost cried. I really felt her desperation and sadness when she describes the way she just wants to find someone to spend her life, but on the other hand I understand the way Jake feels and why he doesnt want to get involved with her because of his past experiences with women.

Well I have to say I was thoroughly delighted with this ebook. Like all Jennifer Crusie novels this one did not disappoint. A laugh out loud story with just the right amount of great characters and sexual chemistry. Can't wait for the next download.

This is some of Jennifer Crusie's earlier work and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Light, fun romantic comedy, perfect reading for the beach, vacation, or just for fun. The pace is good and it never slows down.

Manhunting is the first book by Jennifer Crusie book I have read, however, it will not be the last. It was both amusing and touching. Is it a simple read? Yes. Who wants to read The Iliad all the time? The book is a lovely escape from reality. Or is it? Let's admit it ladies, don't we all make "lists" and "plans" in regard to finding the perfect mate? Like most cute, quick reads, if you don't take it too seriously and you will not be disappointed by this one.

Manhunting is an easy read, and a great, but predictable story. This was my first Jennifer Crusie (audio)book and I really enjoyed the way she told a story. She delivered a perfect amount of humor and tension. I also think that the reader of the audiobook did a great job. I look forward to more Jennifer Crusie books and audio books, if this is how all of her books are, I have found another author to snatch up their books.

This book is a good afternoon read. There is something that keeps you reading. It could be to see who Kate is going to hurt next. The two main people Kate and Jake are good together. Very funny and sexy. Very well written because you can't picture Kate and Jake with anyone else. I would like to read a sequal to Manhuting about Will. Jennifer Crusie if you read the reviews please take note.

I *love* Jennifer Crusie's books! This one was a great story that actually made me laugh out loud several times. Her characters are so fun, and you can't help but love them. Once again the story line was a good one and the ending left the reader feeling complete.

I don't think Ms Crusie will be able to write fast enough to keep me happy, I highly recommend this book!

Every woman on my Christmas list is getting a copy of Manhunting this year. And a few men, too. Jenny Crusie's heroine encounters all the pitfalls of dealing with men, and emerges victorious, a positive message we can all use! And, without giving away the story, let me just say that if you play golf -- or know any woman who does, or you have played any game with an overly competitive male -- you've just got to read this book for the vicarious thrill. I'm making it sound like Manunting is pure man-bashing fun, but it's both more and less than that. The hero and a secondary male character are quite endearing enough to redeem the jerky men in the book.

What woman hasn't dreamed of taking a relaxing vacation and meeting Mr. Right? This read is funny and flows nicely as the heroine finds what she really wants where she least expects it. I found the book relaxing and easy to read while traveling as it was interesting enough to keep the reader engaged but simple enough to follow if interrupted while reading.

I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book - this romance story doesn't take the usual route of woman falling for perfect man... it's about perhaps perfect woman who wonders why she is still single, and eventually learns that it's because it's not about the perfect man, but about finding out what you need, want, and are willing to give up

The best thing about Jennifer Cruise's books is her character development. You get to fall into a world and meet all these wonderful real life people. They learn and grow and save each other from the challenge of a lonely life.

Jennifer Crusie has a witty voice and sultry vocabulary. This is a fun and easily read book. Perfect for the single gal who wants to laugh at her own attempts to find love. She may even get some new ideas! For the happily married reader, Manhunting will remind you of the joys and grief experienced while dating.
