First sentence had my attention. First page had me tearful. First chapter had me hooked! Highly recommend. I read a LOT, but this was the first in a long while that I was aching to get back to every spare second.

I received this book from the author for an honest review. I had trouble putting this book down once I started reading it. The main character, Sydney, takes a job at a sawmill as a safety specialist after the plant failed an OSHA inspection. No one knows her main reason for being there is to find out why her Dad died when she was a teenager. He had worked at that sawmill and uncovered why accidents were happening but was killed before he could reveal the truth. The more Sydney digs into the accident reports from the past ten years, the more danger she faces. The suspense keeps the reader on edge wondering how the story will end and if she uncovers the truth and if she lives to reveal the truth or ends up like her Dad. I highly recommend this book.

This book is about closure. Cindy was a young girl when her father's boat exploded, killing him and leaving her badly burned. She's all grown-up and comes home to find out why her father was murdered. She'd had cosmetic surgery to alter her appearance since her face had been badly burned. She gets hired as a safety consultant at the sawmill where her father had worked. She's certain that someone there was responsible for his death. The more she investigates, the more certain she becomes. But, there are too many suspects and she can't seem to narrow the field. Now, someone is trying to scare her off or kill her. Will she gain the closure she needs? Or, will she lose her life?
This is a well crafted book with a shocker of an ending.

Enjoyed reading a book that was filled with twists and turns without swear words. Add a little clean romance to make the book more enjoyable. Thanks for proving you can write a good, clean story that can be entertaining.

This review has to do with the size and formatting of the paperback. I read this book as a kindle book and thought it might be a candidate for our book club, since some of the members like suspense novels. They voted it in for 2018, and I ordered the paperback for our library. I was surprised when I received the book - it was huge. At first I thought large print, that would be ok, nope it's double spaced throughout the book. I found it uncomfortable to read, so I pulled it from our 2018 list. I just didn't want the members spending $15.00 for this monstrosity. I'll add the book to the library, but I suspect people will look at the size and decide not to read it. I bet the book could have been half the size if it had been single spaced.
