I love this set! What a fantastic way to introduce art to young children. My 16 month old daughter will enjoy these for several years. Right now she loves paging through them and gazing at the pictures. The poetry is also well written.

I teach preschool creative arts and was hoping to use these books with my students...I think they are very well done and the text is as engaging as the images...it is a lovely way to introduce the great artists to the very young...not a good purchase for a teacher however, the books are a bit too small and the images jump around too much to be a useful tool for my purposes, but they are a great addition to the home library.

These books are absolutely wonderful. My 6 month old son loves the pictures and the short sing song verses that accompany them. The sturdy pages make it easy for him to hold without fear of pages ripping or becoming damaged. Wonderful buy.

Set includes 4 books with beautiful full page, full color renditions of the famous artists masterpieces. The stories go along so well and my daughter loves the rhyming. My only con is I wish there were more!

My 15 month old daughter loves these books. They are great educational books.....we're learning together :) We loved them so much that I've purchased all in the series. I would definitely recommend them and plan to purchase more as gifts in the future.

Okay, so am I being a pretentious aunt? Probably. Their mom shows them Baby Einstein all the time, so I figured these would fir right in. These books are durable, and beautiful. The story is the right length to keep a small child entertained, and my niece loves them.

These are among my favorite books. I give this set as a gift every time I get the chance. They are so soothing and beautiful, not to mention educational. My 3-year-old son saw a print of The Starry Night when we were out, and he said, "Look Mom, it's Van Gogh!"

Our daughter loves these books, especially the Matisse version. The rhymes are simple and they are accompanied by works by the featured artist. This box set was great, because I could not decide which to get. Very happy with this purchase.

This children's box set is a fantastic introduction to the world of art for young children. The pictures are beautiful, how could they not be, and my grand daughter loves all of them. I love that they are board books so my one year grand daughter can sit and look through them by herself and enjoy their beauty without waiting for an adult to show them to her.

Since I love and studied art, I thought this would be a fun collection for my two year old son to have. He is intrigued by some of the artwork and definitely has favorites. A great way to expose children to art early.

WE LOVE THESE BOOKS. MY TODDLER LOVES THE PICTURES AND WORDS. These books are great and I love reading them. However, one of the books has some nude pictures. Not noticeable to a toddler, but very noticeable to the adult reading them. We still love these books, but I thought that people should know about the nude pictures. They were definetly a surprise to us!

The books are wonderful - colorful, sturdy, and my 2 year-old absolutely loves them. As I started digging more data on the paintings, however, I noticed that the titles in the Van Gogh book are out of order, even though the authors claim "Works are listed below in the order in which they appear in the book". The correct order should be: Sunflowers, Irises, Olive Grove, Women Picking Olives, The Sower, The Reaper, Haystacks in Provence, The Siesta, First Steps, and The Starry Night.

I enjoy reading these books as much as my daughter enjoys hearing them. The classic art and gentle rhymes are perfect bedtime preparation for sweet dreams. The pack is a great deal. I highly recommend the books for children and their parents. Happy reading!

The box set arrived in perfect condition and the books are sweet. It's well over my kids heads at present, but it's a set that promises to grow with their knowledge and understanding. Money well spent.

These books are a wonderful way to introduce great art to your children! My 20 mos. old really enjoys them and brings them to me often.
However, I was disappointed by some of the pics included in the Matisse book; two pictures are of naked people dancing. I don't I should be having to explain to my toddler why the people aren't wearing clothes. Seriously. So I grabbed a sharpie and "fixed" it, lol.

Although I like the idea behind these books, I was disappointed to see that 2 of these books were inappropriate for a toddler aged child. These books are board books, and have about one or two short sentences per page. Each page also features a famous painting. While that all sounds great in concept, some of these pictures were of naked people and/or people who look distressed or ghost-like. I would rather not introduce the concept of nudity in this format, and so I was upset that the makers of this book would take it upon themselves to expose young children to it. They could have used other images. Secondly, other images were of tired ballet dancers, with one of them holding her head in her hands and looking rather distressed. Another image shows ballet dancers, but they are ghost-like in the picture, and with the use of dark colors, it gives a rather dark impression. While this is all good and dandy for those appreciating art in a mature mind frame, these are inappropriate for toddlers who are vulnerable to emotional messages and are just learning to understand the world (this is one reason why TV is discouraged before age 2--because toddlers are just getting a sense of the world and are not able to discern plots or characters so easily...) These would have been better as non-board books for older children.

I love these books except A magical day with Matisse has a photo of nude people dancing. The whole book is so beautiful and colorful but because of that one page i'm keeping this one from young eyes. They're beautiful books, just not very appropriate for little ones.

My daughters and I have enjoyed this collection ever since they were about 6 months old. Now 4 & 7 years-old they still enoy the rhythms and art. HOWEVER, I have never read them the Matisse book due to the nude artwork.

We've gradually accumulated all the mini masters and have never been disappointed! They're beautiful, the selections of paintings are well suited for little ones (colorful, with a lot of narrative potential), and the text is always interesting and rhythmic. My little toddler loves these and my husband and I enjoy them as well. What a great way to introduce great art! We're thrilled with the whole series.

Love these art books--minus the nudity in Matisse! The Monet and Van Gogh books are especially lovely with peices you don't see very often and so fun to share with little ones! Mine are ages 1 1/2 and 3.
