The Berenstain Bears Inside Outside Upside Down

I ordered several of these board books thinking I was getting a great deal. SO disappointed when they came as TINY, ABRIDGED versions of the real stories. These should be labeled better! I shouldn't have to sort through 100 reviews to realized they're not what they appear to be. We bought 4, paying almost $20 plus shipping, but only got $9 back after paying return shipping costs. Biggest rip-off ever! If I had wanted books to put in my diaper bag- these would have been great. But as it is, I just feel swindled. the store- PLEASE clearly indicate that these are not the original Dr. Seuss books!

Inside Outside Upside Down by Stan and Jan Berentain is A Bright & Early Book intended for Beginning Readers.

What I disliked: While there was only a word or two on each page, the words were difficult for my kindergartener - not easily sounded out (outside, going, etc.).  Then by the time my kindergartener made it to first, the book looked too babyish.

What I liked: I liked the simplicity, though the words were difficult to sound out, with a little guidance from a parent, the kids picked up on it and were able to reread it out of memorization.  It increased their confidence, but if we weren't around to help it would have been useless.

"Inside, Outside, Upside Down," by Stan and Jan Berenstain, is one of the excellent "Berenstain Bears" series of children's books. This volume uses a very simple text and colorful illustrations to introduce some basic prepositions and adverbs to beginning readers.
The simple plot follows the adventure of the Bear family's young boy cub, who "stows away" in a box and gets shipped to town. This is, however, one aspect of the book of which parents should be cautious. Enjoy the book with your children, but make sure they know not to climb into and hide in strange containers--such activity might be dangerous! The hero of our book, on the other hand, suffers no ill consequences from his actions.
Overall, "Inside, Outside..." is not the best in the "Bears" series, but it is still an entertaining book with educational value. And the characteristic Berenstain artwork is always charming.

This is a Berenstain Bears "Bright and Early books". A very basic but very nicely written book to emphasize movement we all do mainly inside, outside, in, and out. So as you read and help teach early readers to 'read' you can also help teach them the concepts of what those 'are'... All the while Brother Bear, a familiar character, makes it fun. My 2 year old granddaughter loved having this read and when she 'reread' it to me she had 'picked up' on a few of the 'inside' and 'in'... GREAT first reader book!

This is one of the earlier Berenstain Bear books, and it shows. Ignore the cover, the bears on the *inside* of this book are less stylized and cutesy than the bears in the newer books, and the story is an early reader instead of a longer read-aloud.

It's a cute little story about a cub and his misadventures in a box. The illustrations make it perfect :)

There are only a few words per page, so this one is perfect both for early readers and for little-little ones learning to talk - the book focuses on prepositions, as you might guess from the title.

This board book is small but it does teach toddlers in, on, out, up, down, inside, outside, etc. This is a fun book for toddlers with a simple but engaging story line. I distinctly remember my dad reading this to me at bedtime as a three-year-old. :-) It's a good concept book.

In this story, it tells about how a young bear cub goes into a box and the box is picked up upside down on a dolly. He is then taken outside and loaded onto a truck and the truck then starts to go up a hill to go into town. As the truck is going up the hill the box bounces off and he lands right side up...This book is an easy book to read for a little child to read during his or her free time, or they can read the book to you. This would be a good book to read to your child...

This delightful classic makes a great first book for the child who is ready to read to him/herself. Its rhythmic rhymes and colorful pictures provide plenty to keep the young reader from losing interest from beginning to end. Its also an excellent book to read to very young children. You may hear them reciting the catchy rhymes to themselves. This is a book well worth buying!

Toddlers love these little Bright & Early Board books. This one which features prepositions is one of my favorites. Little hand love to hold this little books and little fingers love to turn the little pages.

My son was intrigued with this book...and was interested with it for the first half of the book...and then got bored and struggled to sit through the rest of it. It perhaps had to do with the fact that there are less than 10 words in the entire book. Even when reading slowly, it was hard to not fall asleep myself...

Inside Outside Upside Down was a very cute book. This story really has no moral; it's just a cute book to read. It talks about how the boy bear cub goes into a box and gets turned upside down on a truck and drives into town and comes back the very same way. I wouldn't recommend this book to any child if you are looking for something educational, it's just a fun book to read over and over again. But I would recommend it just for fun!

attention to those ppl looking for a great deal.... please be mindful when ordering these that they are the very small board books... unfort i did not realize this when bought them.. very disapointed child on xmas.
