Rivals was INTENSELY sexy and crazy emotional. There is so much more to Landon than the playboy he portrays himself to be. Serena's strength is something that inspires. Together these two change the game. I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

Sports romances seem to be the new popular genre so I decided to add some to my reading list. Rivals is an excellent read with a bit of drama and suspense. It enthralled me from beginning to end and I enjoyed it so much I couldn't put it down. I'll be reading some other books by this author.

Loved this!
I was rooting for Landon and Serena.
Through the ups and downs that neither one saw coming and the reality of feelings that they both refuse to see, comes a great story about football rivalry, loss and new found hope.
Highly recommend this!
And now I'm suddenly craving guacamole ??

I liked Serena better than Landon. I think he was a little uptight. I understand why he is the way he is but it didn't endear me to him. It took too long for him to let go. Serena was refreshing. She could let bygones be bygones. She definitely deserved happiness.

Landon and Serena are amazing together! I absolutely loved this HEA and the witty conversation! Evendors though I volunteered to read an ARC this story was so beautifully written that I kind of ignored the husband to finish the story. This is a definite must read!

I love Landon and Serena. One night stand turned co workers. Both character's were flawed but matched each other well. The chemistry and banter really kept me reading. Highly recommend for a fun flirty romance.

I loved the chemistry between Landon and Serena. I also loved how he was a good day to his daughter Emily. I loved how he had set up all his "rules" and Serena knocked down each one of them. Another great book by Aubrey Irons.

An enjoyable read with a heck of a lot of heat. A lot of back and forth (no pun intended) between our main couple while they learn to trust what they are feeling.

"Love will only break you. Love will leave you cut open and empty, even when you do find it."
To set the stage for this "Rivals" romance, the author speaks through Landon, her male protagonist, the above sentiment. As the reader, we can appreciate the why of his love pessimism. Just as we understand the why of his "rival", Serena's same emotional guarding.
From the beginning through the progression of the story, Ms. Irons cleverly creates, utilizing back story, clever dialogue and character internal dialogue, an erotic sexual attraction between Landon and Serena that is like a drum beat in the background. Even at the apex of their "rivalry" the drumbeat, the heartbeat of sexual desire, is there. The sexual encounters written by Ms. Irons are intense, primal and smokin' hot. As the characters develop their relationship, these sexual encounters become healing and transform this erotic story into a beautiful satisfying love story. The journey of the "rivals" set in the world of professional football is sexy, erotic, entertaing, heart warming and definitely worth a read!!!
I was honored be an ARC gladly providing an impartial review for no consideration. I also purchased a copy for my Kindle library. Go forth and read!!! You'll really enjoy this one!

OMG what a story. Serena Roth smart, sassy, kind, caring and guarded. Landon Reece ex football player, cocky, smart, widowed father, also guarded. One night stand turned partners turned lovers. Murphys law tried to interfere but failed. Conniving board members, biological father, secrets, denial, etc. Was what they had strong enough?

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Aubrey Irons delivers once again. I was turning the pages as fast as I could. If you have read Jock you will know that Serena is London's BFF and Landon was in town to woo London away from her dad's football team as his talent scout in Denver because she stole his star QB Holden. Well, it didn't turn out the way Landon was hoping and when London left him sitting in a restaurant during a business dinner he promptly went to the dive bar next door to drown out the sorrows to run into Serena who was drowning her sorrows for being stood up from a date. One thing leads to another and Landon and Serena ended up having a good night together and a mutually agreed one night stand since they both live in different states.

Serena gets contacted by a law office from Denver that she is being summoned there for the reading of a will/trust of the owner of the Denver team and she hasn't a clue why since she doesn't know the man, who happens to be in coma in the hospital. She hangs up on the call because she thought is was a prank call and they call her right back. Well, now she is in Denver, at the law office, still not understanding why she is even there when Landon walks into the conference room. Like WHOA! Sh!it is about to go down.

This is a must read. I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. If you haven't read Jock, by all means, please do.

This is a book about two broken souls who eventually find happiness again. Serena's fiance left her and betrayed her in the most hurtful manner he could and Landon lost his wife and career years before. They meet because they both work for rival football teams and it seems like the perfect one night stand, they will never see each other again right. Well never say never, in a weird twist of fate Serena is left 24.5% of the football team that Landon is chairman for by the owner when he is in a coma. Serena and Landon go from Rivals to Enemies to friends that need to work together to save the team. The attraction between them is too strong to resist but they both try to convince themselves that it is just sex. Serena starts to see Landon differently after discovering that he is a single dad and Landon can not help breaking his one and done rule for her. This was a very witty, emotional read with lots of steamy love scenes and an HEA. I voluntarily reviewed this book for an ARC copy

Wow. This book was so well written. The characters of Landon and Serena's characters were really well developed and felt more like real people with no over the top crazy drama. The act and react like real people. I love the "Rivals" plot in the story. The book also follows up on the characters from a previous story "Jock," but you don't need to read that book to understand this one.
The sex scenes are very steamy and well written, and the book grabs and keeps your attention from the beginning. Both characters have been hurt in the past and are very guarded. Once they let their guard down they find they are not so different after all. Loved this book. I will definitely read more from Aubrey Irons. I read her short story in the Wicked Ways collection too. Get that one too!!

Another home run or should I say touchdown....loved this book. I met Landon and Serena in "Jock" and knew their story would be good and it was. They never expected to see each other after their one night in Texas. Rules Landon has rules, one and done, hit it and quit it and Serena wasn't expecting anything from him. Thrown together to save his football team their love story starts. He fights it, afraid to love again. This is a well written book with strong characters and lots of drama. It's the type of book I needed to read start to finish. I recommend this book.

I thought this book was fantastic!

Best was seeing Serena, who has been told she will not bear children, and eight year old Emma, Landon's daughter, talk, play, and work together, falling in love with each other. Of course, we readers already know that Serena and Landon are in love--just reading to see if or how they will acknowledge it before they lose everything.

This love story is full of surprises, with bad boys trying to be good and good girls trying to be bad! Read it. I volunteered this review of an ARC.

"I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ADVANCE READER COPY OF THIS BOOK"

Loved this story. What do you do when you meet your one night stand from a month ago and she turns out to be listed as part owner of a team you dshould own fully. You never could get her off your mind and you had no plans to ever have anyone else after the mother of your child passed awaybut now you have no choice but to be around her. This story is really good and i would definatly reread it. its got a HEA with no cliffs

Love, Love, LOVE this book! Aubrey Irons really knows how to spin a story. I have read all of her sports romances, and this one was so different from the rest of them. This wasn't about the players, but it was geared towards the team owners.

It's was definitely a different take in the sports romance genre.

Aubrey Irons is quickly becoming my favorite sports romance authors.

I absolutely loved this book. Two people who truly aren't looking for love come together in a messed up situation. Landon and Serena fused together after one night are stuck in an impossible way but in the end no one could change it even if they wanted to. Loved it! I received this book in exchange for and honest review, and I can't honestly say I'll be reading it again!
