The Pocket Pema Chodron (Shambhala Pocket Classics)

Short thought provoking passages that need to be read mindfully. I find them inspiring even after repeated readings. Pema is my favorite Buddhist writer but her wisdom and kindness will be of benefit to anyone.

This little volume captures so many of Pema's pithy teachings. It's small enough to keep in your purse, or in my case the console of my car. I pull it out when I have a moment and just let the message travel to my heart. If you like Pema, you will love having these beautiful little bits of her wisdom close at hand.

It's true! I actually keep 'The Pocket Pema Chodron' in my jacket pocket. Usually, once or twice a day, I'll take it out and thumb through it. My eyes will settle on one of the short passages I've circled, and it's almost always something that opens up my perspective and is helpful to remind myself of. It is so easy to relate to her down-to-earth simple but profound teachings. A wonderful gem of a book.

This little book is an absolute GEM! I already had one but ordered another for my granddaughter at Christmas. I wouldn't be without it. Pema Chodron is such a beautiful person and her wisdom is incredible.

The 108 capsule chapters are perfect to pick up (or pull out of my pocket) and browse. I can flip open to any page and find a wonderful nugget of wisdom. The bibliography easily links to the original book by the Venerable Pema Chodron. Perfect for my 15 minute subway ride. (I also have the Kindle version on my phone, if I don't have the book with me..I know, right?)
