Great summer read that make you believe in connection and love. Susan has hit the mark once again she catches you from the very begging. Almost Summer takes you back to a warm place in our hearts that we all have!!

Overall, I thought it was a cute story....however, I felt that the plot didn't really thicken for me…just little disappointed that it was a short for a novella. If you like a short story, this is for you.

I was disappointed. Thought it was just something to sell. Didn't hold my interest and I have all the Fool's Gold books on my Kindle and a number of her other series, including the Buchanans and the Bakery Sisters.

Hope the next one is better.

Almost Summer falls into the novella trap. The everything is going great, I am loving the book, then suddenly everything happens and it is just over way too quickly. That is the novella trap. Wrapping things up when it feels like it is just to keep it a novella instead of turning into a novel. When it feels like the story is just quickly finished so it will be over instead of telling the whole story.

The story started and I was loving it! Paige was so much fun. Witty and cute and I just really enjoyed her. She is just so much fun! When she runs into Alistair needing a place to stay she offers up her place to him. After all she has the room and she is just a great person. Of course she is attracted to him, but she is trying to not get attached since he is only here for a little bit. She has always wanted to see the world so hearing some of his travel stories is great for her.

Alistair shows up in Fool's Gold and ends up needing a place to stay. He ends up staying with Paige and he likes her right away. He is a widower and has just been traveling forever. He never really thought he would settle down again, but there is just something about Paige. He can keep up with her and their witty joking around was amazing!

So what was the problem? Well everything was going great, I was loving both of them, but then suddenly they were both in love and were going to be together forever. It was just way too quick. Like two pages and everything is perfect yey. If it would have been developed and a full length book I would have loved it as the back and forth between them was so much fun! Oh well, another just so so novella because it was too quickly wrapped up.

Not bad for a Novella but somewhat predictable. That's why I rated it "Okay" on the store. Yes, I know its a novella but still, sort of disappointing. I wish that the author wouldn't do Novella's for Fool 's Gold stories unless its a renunion story or a Holiday one. I remember reading another story that I had wanted to read and was disappointed because I considered the man to be a main person to the town. And all he got was basically a short story.
I don't know what it is about these stories. But I either really like it or its just okay. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground for me when it comes to the stories about Fool's Gold.

Another wonderful love story by Susan Mallery. I always love to get to know the new people of Fool's Gold, even when they are good looking British guys just visiting a friend. But, sometimes love might make you want to do more than just visit a place like Fool's Gold.

This was sweet meet and fall in love romance like you hardly ever get to read. They are both just utterly charmed by each other and we are utterly charmed by them as well. As a novella, it a quick delightful low heat read that grows the series nicely and in tender about love and loss as well.

Unlike many of the heroes of Fool's Gold, Alastair is less of a fool. Yea!

A delightful display of how emotion begins and grows for two unlikely people. The whispering glimpse inside the ideal community of Fools Gold entices the reader to Not put this story down until it is complete and then yearn for more!

Again, Susan Mallery brought to life the "risks", and the JOYS of Love, no matter how quickly that Love surfaces. The novella leaves me with wanting to know MORE about Paige and Alistair's love and life together.

This was an ok book. Not great but fluff reading and something to pass the time. It seemed a bit short and over before I expected it to be. I've read other novels by Susan mallery but this one was not up to her usual standards.

Story was real interesting and sweet, moved right along since it was a short story. Enjoyed it right up to the ending, then NUTS! No marriage, just an invitation to travel as lovers? Hmmmm, disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. The only problem was it ended to soon! I wanted it to be longer. I love Susan Mallery and in particular the Fools Gold Series. They are great. The charachters are real and quite humurous.

This book flowed so smoothly that I did not realize I had finished reading it. It has great characters and a good storyline. I loved Paige from the beginning and wanted her to be happy. Alistair is a perfect fit for her and her needs.
