A weaker continuation of the Cycle of Arawn trilogy. Not enough new meat to chew on. At the end of this book, there is a preview of the second book of this trilogy.. Nothing new here either. On to a different writer.

I was really enjoying this book until I read that he had to cut himself in order to release his magic. I was unable to finish this book. In a family with three teenagers I am always alert to messages that are harmful to young adults. Self mutilation is not something to be encouraged in any form and for an author writing for this age group I found it totally appalling and unacceptable. I would encourage someone with such a gift for writing to find a better way for the hero to release his magic. Self mutilation is a challenge already for many teens please find another way to entertain these vulnerable young adults.

This is a well written story with developed characters. The biggest thing I can sell someone on here is the banter between the two main characters. Absolutely a great story and plot points, but the dialogue is tremendous.I enjoy writing, but how Mr. Robertson comes up with such a creative banter is beyond me. Well done!

This is a captivating read, however, slow to start it gains momentum which will make you see red do to particular characters.
Just enough intrigue to make sure one will read it to the end.
Worthy of a excellent rating!

Another amazing installment in the series. Beyond the overall excellence, this author is one of the most creative I've run across when it comes to culture-building. It's like a cross between Dune and books by Sheri Tepper, all mashed in amongst the great epic fantasy and endearing characters.

Great writing style and attention to detail. Super character and world development. Interesting story that keeps you involved and reading. Very well written. If you like well done epic fantasy with a fash of humor and originality, this is the author for you. Read the first trilogy before this one for best effect.

The author's writing matures nicely over the course of the previous trilogy, and continues in this new series. I find the story entertaining and still sufficiently thought-provoking that it doesn't feel like I'm wasting time on complete fluff. I look forward to the next chapter!

Another swashbuckling, seat-of-pants rollercoaster yarn that is the epitome of the Wise-cracking bromance, middle-Age fantasy and backs-to-the-wall action!
Following in the footsteps of the cycle of Arawn trilogy, this is a book that I didn't put siren to the last page.
I challenge you to be unmoved by it!

The Red Sea was very different from the first trilogy, but in great ways! There are familiar aspects, but the story takes twists and turns unlike Dante's previous adventures. I can't wait to continue with the series.

Absolutely love his books. I started with the Breakers series, then the Cycle trilogy, and am completely hooked on both. So glad the stories have continued. Dante and Blays draw you into their adventures and the moral dilemmas they face so much, it's hard to put the books down. I can't wait for the next one.
