I have been reading DragonLance novels since the very first one came out, and have always loved Weis and Hickman's stories. This book is no exception. There is finally something to cheer about as the inhabitants of Kyrnn start to unite against the evil dragons that have taken over their world. Many of the mysteries of the last book are revealed, and Tas continues to be the star of the series. If you have kept up with the Dragonlance series, I would highly recommend this book.

OH MY RAISTLIN!!!... I mean, OH MY GOD!!! (...sorry, I get those two confused sometimes...) I just came back from Borders and I am in shock! Why Laurana? Why have practically all of the original companions had to meet such tragic demises? Oh, and I don't want to get off on a rant here but now that "The One God" has been revealed, Raistlin will HAVE to come back and destroy this pathetic immortal; and NOT to "save the world" (I say that dripping with sarcasm) but to show that HE should be the one to rule Krynn. Keep those pompous dragons in line and show Mr. Dark Elf (Dalamar)how to REALLY bring magic back to Krynn. Well, I'm done ranting; I guess that I now have to wait A WHOLE YEAR to find out when the best character in all of Dragonlance's history will return in all his glory!!!... thank you.

this kind of books gets here in the Philippines late, thus I asked me best friend to get this for me(thanks Emerald!) - one of the few books I dare ask her to get for me...
aside from the "Dragons of Summer Flame", this book got lots of tragic deaths, battles, and just damn excitement! it is one of the best DragonLance book I ever read(and believe me, I read most of them!)... the One God is revealed; a Dragon Overlord dies; major characters doomed or died... this is a must have for all DL fans! though I suggest you read the first book of this series first... and best of all by the way is that DALAMAR is BACK! classic DragonLance - romance, betrayal, despair, controversy... its all here!
The Red Sea (The Cycle of Galand Book 1) :: The Red Sea: The Cycle of Galand, Book 1 :: The White Tree: The Cycle of Arawn: Book I :: Every Love Story Is a Ghost Story - A Life of David Foster Wallace :: Dragons of Spring Dawning (Dragonlance Chronicles - Book 3)

Hey you coniving READER FROM SOLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have just reuined the whole book for anyone who hasn't read it yet! Oh come on you do not tell everyone in your review what happened in this book! You are not a true Dragonlance fan if you didn't like this book. It was a bit boring at times but still it was very good. And for your info I did feel sad when she died and I bet you a lot of other people did to! So go back to where you came from and let the real people review this book! Now that that was done, In all truthfulness it was a great book. Not many people thought that any book that was about the 5th age was a good book, but this one and its predisesor broke that long line of duel books. This series will save the 5th age in my mind. Another thing, I think that MW and TH were right in explaining a lot about Krynns past. They needed to explain to the new readers all about that so no one would be confused. All in all again this was a great book.
SO READ IT! ALL DRAGONLANCE FANS SHOULD READ IT!

Within the last month i have read the entire Dragonlance collection, chronicles-twins-next generation ectera, what can a say, ive had alot of time on my hands! I have not been able to put them down and it saddens me that i will have too now wait for the final installment (vol 3) for the war of souls. Im a guy so i dont like admitting to misty eyes when reading a book, but the self sacrafice and love the characters churn out got me going a bit. Glad to see Tasslehoff back in action aswell, still 'borrowing' and absent mindindedly allowing things to 'fall' into his pouches in classic Kender style.
Krynn was left neat and tidy at the end of 'Dragons Of Summer Flame' now with the intervention of the 'one god' Krynn is in need of its heroes again, cant wait for the next volume!!

Finally, the remnants of the 5th Age are beginning to crumble before the brilliant story-telling of Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman. After years of disappointing books and storylines, they've taken back the world that is so rightfully theirs and have begun to set the past mistakes of sub-par authors right.
Through the development of interesting new characters and the reglorification of old ones, a lush and rich story has begun to take shape. Thus far, only one problem still remains... We now have to WAIT for the next book to surface.

Margaret and Tracy really came with it on this new Dragonlance book Dragons of a Lost Star! It is, as so many fans have said, back to the original great adventures, realistic characters, and tremendous magic! The dragons are great! Including their descriptions of the dragon overlords from the 5th age. I think they have blended the two different story lines together wonderfully and I hope they tie up all the loose ends in the last book Dragons of a Phantom Moon.
Keep up the good work guys!

I have read all of the other Dragonlance books by Weis and Hickman. The quality of this book is up to par with the rest of them, but I must say this book was filled with senseless deaths. It ranks up there with Dragons of a Summer Flame. I think that Weis and Hickman have a personal vendeta against all of their old characters.
It was a well written book and I do recommend it to die hard fans, but if you have any affection whatsoever to some of the old characters, you may want to think twice about reading this series.

If you want epic, the Dragonlance stories by Weiss and Hickman are some of the best. This book hit all the high spots, great characters, epic battles, heroic deaths, dark magic, and a GREAT twist ending! I've read nearly all the Dragonlance books and I never saw that coming!

This book was excellent. I am really happy that they are starting to go back to the old ways that where the fourth age. I have to say however that I really hate Mina. She is totally evil and helping thwart every hope for peace. I hated it when she almost killed Skie (my favorite dragon). I have high hopes for the next installment in the series and I really hope that Paladine comes back to defeat Takhisis yet again.

Just finished reading this book and I must say it was far better than I expected. I am a huge DL fan but I thought nothing could compare to the first three books and boy was I wrong. Lost Star brings all the character devlopment, and great plot twists I could have hoped for. And as for the dramatic ending, have to wait and read it but, it was fantistic. Only problem now is waiting for the next book...arg, is there book spoliers? hehe.

My husband and I read this book together (we were fighting over who would get to read it first)and when we got to the one god, we were so disappointed. I am not sure if I was disappointed because it was a let down or if I was mad at myself for missing the obvious. I still can't wait for the third book to come out to see what on Krynn Tas has done to mess up everything. Overall a very good book.

I really liked this particular book. I think it is an excellent follow up on "Dragons of a Fallen Sun" and It never let you put it down. One thing I didn't like however was the abrubt ending of the book. I was reading and I turn the page to find nothing and was sorely disappointed, which I guess is a good thing because they made it so I wanted to keep reading. This is why I gave this book 5 stars.

An Extremely good book!A fine read. Startling topics shocking descriptions and a gripping storyline makes this book one of the best of the popular authours Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. If you didn't read the first volume of the War of Souls series you better!!

I quit following the series a while back (I could not stand the substandard writing in the spin offs.) But the War of Souls series has me hooked! I love the setting, the story is rivitting and I am dying to get my hands on the next book. Go Weis and Hickman!!!

After the dissapointment of Fallen Sun, Lost star is a fantastic book. The reader will come to enjoy Mina's character, and be mistified as to the identity of "the one god."
excelent reading - if you haven't picked it up yet, do so
