I bought this based on various reviews that I had read. It was very bland, and not what I expected at all. I thought it would be more along the lines of Sleepy Beauty triology, i.e. fairy tales with a nice, erotic twist. These stories were so boring and some of them were disturbing in general. I'm not sure what this book should be classified, but it's not erotica. Rather than moving a woman forward in her sexuality, it seems to promote demeaning them. I would recommend Lora Leigh, Shayla Black, or the Sleeping Beauty triology rather than this book. It could have been so much better...

I searched high and low for this book after picking up the authors 12 Dancing Princesses...That will probably go into my used bookstore bag unread. While the stories are well written and have the potential to be fun reads, and I love the idea of erotic fairy tales, they are too short! You don't really get to know the characters, there's no real plot to them and if you blink you miss the story.

There are better places and authors for making fairy tales erotic.

I feel sorry for that woman for thinking that sexuality is something to be ashamed of.

I almost didnt purchase this wonderful book of erotic short stories because I thought the person who wrote that knew what they were talking about , and purchased this solely because I wanted to see what she was so pissed about , and everyone else seemed to enjoy so much.

Not only is it tastefully written, it touches upon fantasies and things that alot of women seem to be ashamed of because of society. (which Ms. Madore also lightly touches upon)

I thought this was an excellent read and recommend it to everyone, if not for this review, then maybe some of the others. (who actualy grasps the brilliance of this author)

I love old fairy tales and collect many different books of them. This was by far one of the most enjoyable renditions of the stories like "Beauty and the Beast" "Bluebeard" "Goldilocks" "The Ugly Duckling" "The Goose Girl" and more. The author remained true to the mood and style of the original fairy tales, while incorporating a very modern erotic fantasy into the plots. The writing was extremely sensual while remaining tasteful. I am glad to have this book in my collection, and recommend it to women everywhere.

I loved the way these erotic stories were written. They are very sexual, and that was great, but they make you think too. I really appreciated the feminist ideas expressed in the book that were mingled into the stories. The erotic fantasies and stories not only turned me on sexually but also mentally. This is an uplifting book to read, and although it definitely did not make me feel like going to sleep, it sure did make me feel like a woman.
Thank you Ms. Madore!

Sexual fairy tales for women! I loved the idea and could not wait to get the book. And the stories exceeded my expectations. Nancy Madore picked all the best fairy tales (there was one I had never heard of before: East of the Sun and West of the Moon. I don't remember hearing that one when I was child but it sure was a good one in this version). But all the ones I remember are here: Goldilocks, Bluebeard, Beauty and the Beast, The Ugly Duckling and more. The stories were so much fun to read, and wow, when they got to the juicy parts! But the best part was that the stories were not tacky or obscene. They were more like sexual art. I can't imagine any woman not enjoying this book.

Honestly, this was a terrible read; I tried three stories and could not finish any of them. It is written poorly and the stories are, well, stupid. Really stupid. I got this to read with my boyfriend in bed, and it did nothing but give us a giggle at the totally stupidity of the writing and nightmares that this was actually published. Don't waste your money. And if you feel you have to, don't. Did I mention this was a stupid book? lol

These fairy tales are very naughty but I loved every minute of it! Good job on the writing. The stories have never been better. I will not be able to think of Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty, Bluebeard or any of the other fairy tale characters in the same way again. Clever writing. Naughty, but clever. It had me chuckling out loud.

I love fairy tale retellings, the hotter the better, but I didn't feel that these were all that hot, or as entertaining as I was expecting. I don't think I'll be trying the next in the series. I do really like the cover, though.

I thought this was a great collection of erotic fairy tales. I've read some before, but this one really resonated with me. I liked that they weren't so overly done or over the top that I would have the eye roll going on. I'd suggest this to friends, along with Naughty Nights: Ellora's Cave.

BEDTIME STORIES FOR WOMEN are guaranteed to give rise to your senses...and your libido. You will never read fairytales the same way after reading one of these stories. My personal favorites were "Beauty and the Beast," "Cat and Mouse," "Goldilocks and the Three Barons," "East of the Sun and West of the Moon," and "Snow White in the Woods." Each had me fantasizing, wanting more and still leaving much to the imagination.
Ms. Madore expresses sensuality/sexuality without using the vulgarity or crass words that have began to plague modern day erotica. BEDTIME STORIES FOR WOMEN are told in an eloquent manner that is insatiable; they may even tempt you to want to create your own ending. Curl up with your significant other and prepare to read him a bedtime story. I must warn you that these stories are not meant to put him to sleep, but to wake him instead. I look forward to reading other erotica stories written by Ms. Madore; I'm sure I won't be disappointed by her fairytales with a twist.

Although the stories are interesting and do have an adult twist, I have trouble calling this collection "erotica." Many of the stories are too short with too much political backstory to really get into. It is an injustice to compare these stories to Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty novels. If you want a fairy tale complete with a moral at the end- these are interesting, but if you are looking for erotica- look somewhere else.

Certainly was a bedtime story...put me right to sleep! She needs to find a new job! btw, check this link out about the author! Seems like she's way too "enchanted" in her own mind and ego to be taken seriously! https://maddannouncer.wordpress.com/

I really liked this book, mostly because it takes old fairy tales and makes them new again--and what girl doesn't love fairy tales? I thought the erotica was sensual and the writing very good. It's a must have for women, but you don't necessarily have to read it at bedtime! It's definitely romantic.

Bedtime stories is right. The stories put me to sleep and i was sorry i brought the book. I was looking for something a little more spicy. Wow beauty slept with the beast, big surprise there. Madore need to go into great detail and put more passion in her writing. Read it for yourself but my suggestion is that you get it from your local libery.

Hey me and my girlfriend like to read erotic stories. But this book was all but not erotic. The idea is very good but you often read of girls who have sex with a lot of guys (example: snowwhite and the 7 dwarfs) and yes if you thinking "no this can't be" then you are right it is. No there is no prince for snowwhite cause she has 7 dwarfs. It was realy awefull to me. So if you want to read a good book espacealy if you are a couple, then keep your hands of this book.

I loved this collection of erotic retelling of popular fairytales. Bedtime Stories for Women reminds me of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty novels in that they turn a sweet fairytale into something extremely naughty and pleasurable (so to speak) to read. Nancy Madore renames the titles of some of the most memorable stories out there. The author also adds some original stories with a cartoonish setting. My favorites are "The Empress' New Clothes," "Cat and Mouse," "Goldilocks and the Three Barons," "Mirror on the Wall," "Beauty and the Beast," and "East of Sun." Not only are the stories smolderingly erotic, they also empower women to be uninhibited and independent. Some of the stories also deal with issues about one's physical appearance. "The Ugly Duckling" delves into the aforementioned issue in a profound, thought-provoking way. Bedtime Stories for Women is one of the best erotic short-story collections I have read in a long time. Ms. Madore is an excellent writer and I look forward to reading more of her stuff.
