Hannah - you absolutely wrecked me with this book. Your words cut through me with so much truth and spoke to parts of my heart I didn’t even know were broken. Thank you for having the courage to put your heart on the line to help all of us looking for direction.

What an incredible book. Hannah's vulnerability in walking her readers through her own story is powerful in it's own right but she takes things a step further with ways to apply her lesson and steal her prayers. Like a lot of the other reviewers, I have a very marked-up, dog-eared copy that I will return to regularly.

I loved this book! I appreciate Hannah’s honesty and openness while discussing tough topics like depression. She paints a beautiful picture of a rooted life where you show up for other people. As a twenty-something, this book came at best time in my life and I would recommend to anyone else in a similar stage.

From the very first chapter, hannah had me hooked on this book! My favorite part of the book is at the end of each chapter; Hannah includes a “steal this prayer.” I love how each chapter goes back to God and how our lives need to be submitted to him by bringing it back to prayer. Thanks for pointing each chapter back to God!

I got to hear Hannah speak at Passion college night and it motivated me to find her book and I absolutely loved it! It is so relatable and I feel like everyone can find something in it that they are like oh yes that’s so me and gain helpful insight! It’s an easy nice read, I read little bits before I go to bed each night!

Thank you for pouring your heart and soul into this, Hannah! It is a gem.

Hannah simply shares her life in a book. She speaks of her severe depression, her relationship with God, and the value of real community. I am thankful for her transparency in this book. She has an enjoyable sense of humor. Would definitely recommend.

Come Matter Here brings us an important message: Stay and matter where you are. Throughout the book we are inspired to stop running after the next big thing, to stop letting fear or pursuit of success in worldly terms run our lives. Instead, come, stay and plant your roots deep. Meaning and making a difference is right before us in the small and simple, not just in the next big happening.

Reading this book is akin to meeting a friend for coffee and sharing deep conversation about real life stuff. It is sharing both the good and the difficult things from every season of life, then sharing the wisdom we’ve gained with others and staying with them as they walk it out.

It’s about not waiting for the next best thing before you invest yourself, but investing yourself full throttle into those around you right now. The writings in this book will open your eyes to every need to open your heart and stop the running. It will provoke you to refuse the lies, set aside fear, and go deep with the community around you.

Hannah’s honest presentation of her struggles paints a vital backdrop for sharing real wisdom with the generations of today.

This book provoked me to go deeper with my own spiritual family and has grown my passion for seeing the Body of Christ get real with one another with honesty and authenticity. As a result, I experienced freedom from lies I believed that had affected me for most of my life. This is similar to what Hannah experienced as she refused to be fearful or to run, and planted herself in community with those around her.

Do not only read this book, let the experiences and wisdom within read you. Glean all the wisdom you can and set your heart to walk out living a deeper, authentic life with those around you.

Choose to go deep beyond surface living. Live and share in honesty—even at the risk of rejection—letting God love you through those around you. Trust God to protect your heart and come matter right where you are. A deeper, beautiful life is waiting!

If you know someone that struggles with depression, mental illness, anxiety, or just needs a truly honest and uplifting book, GET THIS! Hannah doesn't shy away from, but actually brings to the forefront, the realness and importance of dealing with and talking about mental illness. Through her powerful testimony, she proves that the darkness can be overcome! The truth and encouragement that is spoken about in this book is going to radically shift the way we view mental illness. It is with great hope and expectation that I believe it will propel us into coming alongside one another and truly listening and caring about one another and our individual struggles, while sharing and celebrating our gifts/strengths. Grab yourself a copy and while you're at it, grab a copy to gift someone. You'll both be SO glad that you did!

Come Matter Here feels exactly like sitting down over coffee with your very best friend and having them rehearse truth with you. It feels like wisdom and encouragement and smiles and tears and Me Too moments and laughter. Hannah is one of the few trusted voices I make space for in my every day life. She always seems to speak exactly what I need because the truth she knows and walks and lives out is universal. That's the beauty of her writing. I'm in the middle of a season of moving and transition, and Come Matter Here has given me something tangible to hold on to while I walk out this season of life. I'm forever grateful for these words, and I know you will be, too!

It’s incredibly easy to get lost of the mindset of the “next thing”. In a world of constant movement and social media streams, it’s easy to find out thoughts just waiting for the next thing to fill us up, to stick our heels in, and choose to intentionally set down roots to LIVE. Come Matter Here gives the permission so many of us need to make the choice to be in the here and now, living & thriving intentionally. Hannah’s Stories throughout the book make it feel relatable and tangible. This book naturally makes you take a deep hard look at yourself to evaluate whether you are living authentically and purposifully in the present, or if you are just skating across the surface to get to the next thing.

Whenever I think of Hannah Brencher, the word that comes to mind is "committed." This is a woman who is absolutely committed to knowing Jesus, gaining wisdom, and celebrating the beautiful people and moments that make up life. Take one look at Hannah, and you will find this to be true. You'll see a woman who knows the secret to contentment and is willing to share it with everyone she knows. In fact, that's what this book is about. Come Matter Here is a love letter to people who feel caught up in the wrong kind of hustle -- the people who, in their effort to get there, are missing out on the beauty, joy, and opportunities right in front of them. It was such an honor to help Hannah launch this book. It's one that everyone should have on their shelf.

As a fellow Hannah, I naturally clicked on Hannah Brencher’s TED talk because we had the same name. But after I heard Hannah's TED talk on her battle with mental illness, I was drawn into the way she communicates with her use of words. Hannah’s words beat to the same drum I was playing at that time in my life. And as I was floundering and stumbling through this song, I began to see clearly the truths of God's words.

Really hard times in my life were present and the words leaped off the page and into my heart. Words that made me feel like I wasn’t the only one struggling through what seemed to be the darkest moments in my life.

God did not allow me to continue to play to the beat of my own drum; what the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good. Dark moments drown us in the sea of our own dead and false thoughts.

I have been deeply impacted by Hannah’s words and reminded I have a place to matter- that place begins with Jesus, is full of with community, and ends again at the foot of the Cross.

Depression, and darkness we experience needs more than your own two fists; that darkness needs to be run out by the light of the truths of God’s words and the community of people who are revving up their engines to push it out with you.

I am reminded through this book about a truth God gives in Matthew about community- “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

We need to fight this battle in community with other believers. You are welcome here- that is the message of this book.

You are welcome with all your brokenness, darkness so that God can redeem your brokenness and bring you out of darkness and into His marvelous light!

You are a chosen race.
You are a royal priesthood
You are a holy nation
You are a people for his own possession

Why and how?

So that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

^^^^^
This is why ya’ll!! Our pain has a purpose and God has used Hannah to display the glory of his grace and mercy and redemption, through her uncanny, truth-filled and clarity with words!

Hannah never ceases to write the very words my heart needs to hear. She walks readers through her journey with depression and anxiety in this book and what it looks like to grow through that experience and it is amazing. It is the perfect amount of encouraging and challenging.
I used an entire pen's ink underlining truths and commenting in the margins of this one. I will leave you with an emphatic GO BUY THIS BOOK.

Desperate for answers, desperate to matter... Pick this book up. Hannah writes with a rare honesty and authenticity, and her style draws you right into her story. But this book will also feel like a kick in the ass, and life-giving words of encouragement. You deeply matter to God, and you deeply matter in this world. Hannah reminds you of this, while challenging you to show up where you are - in the gritty, non-glamorous, beautiful life that you are already living.
For anyone who wants to live a fuller, more authentic, more meaningful life - start here. Buy this book, and lean into the challenge and the invitiation that Hannah extends: to come matter here.

Have you ever met someone who was able to articulate exactly what you have been feeling, in words you were never able to express? That's "Come Matter Here." This book is filled with honesty and encouragement and feels like having a coffee date with a best friend.
Read this book if you want to be inspired and compelled to live something greater. Read it if you're willing to shed a few tears and if you're ready to sacrifice a few pens to underlining and circling on practically every page. And go ahead and buy extra copies, because you will want to share HB's wisdom with everyone you know!

This book was beautiful and relevant and powerful and just so. dang. good. I'm so grateful for Hannah's voice and the way she lives so authentically and boldly. This book met me just where I am and encouraged me to live fully, presently, intentionally, and meaningfully alongside others and toward the Lord, and I'm so grateful I read it in this season of being thick in the woods of counseling and some serious personal growth work. Her words are like a balm to my soul and like a love letter from a dear friend, and I can't rave about this one enough. Plus, HOW PERFECT is that cover?!

Hannah has helped me draw out some hard things in my own heart as God has used her to speak light into the darkness. Come Matter Here is raw, REAL, and a new favorite of mine. I was fortunate to be on her launch team, and I have not stopped recommending this book to EVERYONE since the day I began reading. I knew from the start it was special, and Hannah's braveness and boldness are truly inspiring. This book, for me, was as though Hannah was that friend I needed to speak hard truth into my heart in a season of HARD. It was truly iron sharpening iron - I have been spurred on in the calling of Christ by CMH's message of hope. As a momma of two toddlers who needed a huge reminder to matter where my feet are while walking through some hard times, this book was just the push I needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Hannah. Your fellow friend, Hannah. :-)

There are so many things to love about Hannah Brencher’s second book: from the honesty and vulnerability with which she writes, to the tangible prayers she offers for us to use, this book is an act of love. It’s a quick and life-giving read that makes you feel like you’ve been having a heart-level chat with a close friend. Hannah provides a great balance of personal stories, Biblical references, and applicable advice throughout the pages of Come Matter Here.

One of the things I treasure most about Hannah’s writing, especially in this book, is how she traces God’s fingerprints through an array of circumstances—funny, like her Devil Wears Prada cab driver, to sobering, like in her honest recounting of her encounters with depression. I’ve been so encouraged learning how she finds God in the everyday—in the “here”—and it has helped me open my eyes more to what God is doing each day.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Hannah's words are a soothing balm for my striving heart. I've been feeling tired of running around chasing everything and nothing at all, trying to find the next best thing and feeling uneasy with my decisions, well this book helped me pull the breaks and helped me understand how my location and community matters. I've been following Hannah's writing for years and this is the perfect second book. When you read the book, it's like she's sitting across from you at your favorite coffee shop telling you the story, challenging you to stay and invest in the community that's right in front of you. She challenges the reader to make hard decisions and stick with them, because perseverance and discipline are key elements for life.

From the moment you start reading you feel connected. You feel like she's telling your story, like somehow she opened up your rib cage and let your heart bleed on those pages. Except is her heart she's spilling... and God's. This is the kind of book that WILL challenge you, all the way to change. It's the kind of story(stories) that truly make you feel like you're heard, all the way through. It's dumbfounding to think that others go through what you go through, sometimes so you can connect with them and in a way connect with God, but this is exactly what this book feels like. I know Hannah's story is real because I've lived it, and now that I see it on paper I know that my story has purpose as well.

I feel like Hannah wrote this book especially for me. God dropped it in my hands just at the right time. Although it's been almost five years since moving from California to Texas, I still struggle with being where my feet are. As I was reading I felt like Hannah understood the struggles of being uncertain, of feeling like you don't belong and wanting to desperately to please God with every single step. This read is encouraging, comforting and challenge. Hannah will grab your hand and walk with you let you know it's going to be okay but also let your hand go when it's time and remind you that you've got this, God is still present if it seems like He's not and you matter right here, right here in this space you are.

Hannah Brencher is one of those authors who write as though they were talking to you while sitting somewhere comfortable. Coffee, lemon loaf and a three hour conversation. I loved reading her words because they told me where I was and where I could be.

This is one of my favorite quotes, “I think it is a lifelong quest to differentiate our feelings from the plans of God.”

Some topics are tough to talk about, but Hannah's conversational tone as she writes creates an atmosphere of honest friendship. I felt like she was in the room acting as a big sister, sharing her story & advice while being completely vulnerable. I devoured this book. Every chapter in the book was relatable on some level for me & I appreciated her not holding back. I think I underlined most of it! I can hardly wait to read it again & dive deeper into the different subjects. No matter what stage you're at in life or what you're going through, I think this book can be incredibly helpful. Buy it NOW! You WILL NOT be disappointed.
