Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

I love John's insight and way of expressing himself. I find this book to be endlessly inspiring, uplifting and enchanting.
If you feel connected to our natural world and the spirit of life this book has the ability to make one feel as though they are in good company. Company that knows that all life is connected. I highly recommend this book for spiritual inspiration and living a good life.

The book provide deep inspirational insights into the relationships of the one you love and the Divine Being who created this Universe. A must read for folks who are in love and for folks who are looking at how the Divine through nature affects our lives.

Love it - 1st time through found it difficult to follow, read it a 2nd time and got so much more - reading it for the 3rd time - it's an incredibly insightful book written by someone who is tapping into the wisdom of his soul.

An absolutely stunning, deep introduction to a "sane" look at and approach to dancing with personal and community existence. Akin to throwing open the doors and windows of a stuffy house. Highly recommended.

Anam Cara means "soul friend". You will be transformed just from the Prologue. I feel that this is a book that should be shared, read aloud, slowly. The author does not use words without deep meaning. I find that I read and re-read each sentence to really take in the deep meaning. This would be a wonderful book for study groups, or book clubs. I was given a copy and immediately bought 4 copies to share with others. They have each replied that they were so moved by this book that they also bought copies to share with others.

A friend recommend this book and our book club discussed it. There is a lot one can learn by reading it. When I read the death review, it really was on top of it because I had already been through 2 years of cancer with my husband
And was there at his death . A lot can be learned from this amazing book .

What an artist, to create such beauty with words. I've never read anything like it. I was not looking for this type of book. I kind of stumbled across it and saw the great reviews. I figured "Why Not". I must say that I am in awe of it. Even if you are not looking to be spiritually enlightened (which I wasn't) I would recommend this book. It deserves to be read simply for the beauty of it's words. I have to admit that I was enlightened by it and find myself rereading parts, slowly, absorbing every word.

John O'Donohue offers tools that can help us comprehend and appreciate the complexities that are both within us and in our outer lives. He writes from the heart about the most elevated sensual and spiritual experiences; reminding us that in the Celtic understanding, these are both expressions of the Divine.
