I love the prayers where the ordinary is connect to the extraordinary and O'Dononhue expresses this wonderfully. I work as a hospice chaplain and this book has inspired my extemporaneous prayers with patients and families.

O'Donohue's blessings and prayers in this book are beautiful. Whenever I've had the opportunity to share some of them in a prayer group or other setting, people are touched and many ask about where they can get this book.

This is a beautiful and lyrically written introduction to the act of blessing and to blessings of all kinds. A joy to read but I wish I had it in book and not electronic form to be better able to flip through it. Sorry, guess I am a Luddite.

I had never been particularly interested in poetry. However, I was introduced to John O'Donahue on a spiritual retreat and have been loving his words ever since -- in the morning, before bed, for encouragement, for joy, for connection, for a new, loving perspective, for a reminder.

I am inspired by his words everyday and find this volume very special. In fact, I recommend it highly in presentations I give on Celtic Spirit, a travel fiction book written to capture the experience of Americans embraces what O'Donahue expresses so beautifully.. This book is truly a blessing.

This is a lovely and intelligent compilation of poetic blessings. It includes blessings for almost every one and every issue, place, or thing in need of a thoughtful meditation. I use it for daily inspiration, grounding, and centering. Truly a beautiful book.

I ordered this book in triplicate to give to special people for a holiday gift. They really enjoy the beautiful lines of this book. It touches on so many blessings, not only the really big ones, but the ordinary things we don't always consider a blessing. I highly recommend.

This book is a beautiful resource for personal devotions and for meaningful public moments. It has a helpful table of contents and blessings that can be used as prayers for many of life's significant and particular situations- especially uncomfortable ones like death of a child or a suicide or for the interim time.

It touches into places in the heart that are reached only by the most exquisite poetry...what a blessing this book is! An exceptional gold mine of thoughtful and articulate concepts that both broaden the mind and consciousness and at the same time feed and comfort the heart and spirt (for yourself and others). It has such mental and emotional integrity and maturity. It is in a class of its own and reaches way beyond the level of a feel good, "build your ego," or "positive thinking" kind of read - such a thing is not easy to come by. Regardless of one's religion or belief system, this precious gem speaks to the human heart, mind and intention with a fundamental assuptiom that God is ubiquitous and omnipresent so the author deliberately refrains from using the word and says that it is too big and beautiful to be diminished by the use of other words or phrases surrounding it. It is a delight and a treasure from every aspect - poetic without being poetry, mentally challenging, insightful, assuring and logical, yet it is deeply healing, comforting and touching all at the same time. It can be read all the way through or can be picked up and read randomly. It's a keeper and I keep this book with me in the car as well as share it with others. They seem to make a note of it and purchase it at their earliest convenience.

I finished reading this as my partner was waiting for the very to call to put her dog down...I found it very comforting that I too could bless that space when the moment came. Being of Irish decent it all rang true.
