I was drawn into Maritza’s and Isaiah’s story from the first page. I loved the “hate” to love aspect of their relationship, and getting to see their friendship and connection grow over their first week together was seriously sweet. The letters between the two while separated was one of my favorite parts. Watching them reluctantly fall in love was my second favorite thing. I absolutely LOVED Maritza. She initially comes off as sweet and optimistic, which she is, but she also has a backbone and is willing to stand up for herself. I found her to be a well-rounded and relatable character. The only downside was that I felt the final conflict and resolution was a little rushed. I wanted more, though I found the epilogue to be fairly satisfying. The secondary characters were great, and I can’t wait to read Melrose’s story in the next book!

This storyline had great potential and there were a couple of chapters that I really got into. For the most part I liked Isaiah 's character, the heroine though.... Not so much. I tried. I really did. But I just couldn't connect with her which really killed the investment I should of had in her happiness. Having said that I still wanted to see the book to its end and was rewarded with a sweet epilogue. Great Cover Ok read.

Two strangers agree to spending a week of "Saturdays" before one of them is deployed. Two very different people agreeing to no expectations, no romance, no future. This storyline had me intrigued at the blurb, and kept me engaged throughout the book.

When stoic soldier Isaiah finds himself seated at one of sassy waitress Maritza's tables, he's less than impressed and so is she, until his generous tip makes her rethink her first impression. When an unexpected event throws them together again, she's determined to find out more about the intriguing stranger so she suggests the week of Saturdays. Against his better judgement, Isaiah agrees. He's got a wall around his emotions and this persistent, pesky woman isn't going to tear it down easily.

Much of the first half of the book is their week together, each day building a grudging friendship between the pair. There are so many great moments, fun and sexy. Isaiah's deployment, their subsuquent contact, and a surprise twist make the rest of the book an emotional rollercoaster. It's all wonderfully unique, a credit to Winter Renshaw's ability to craft an amazing tale. 5 stars!

Maritza?? is a morning waitress at a breakfast pancake restaurant in LA. The restaurant has a curious and rigid policy of one pancake per customer, but it covers the whole plate! It's huge.

When Isaiah???, a tall, dark, and handsome young man comes in, he orders 2 pancakes. Maritza?? tells him he only gets one, and they get into a discussion, almost an argument over it. Isaiah???? seems pretty tense and finally Maritza?? realizes he's a soldier. She sneaks him another pancake and he leaves her a hundred dollar tip. Maritza?? figures she'll never see him again.

Ha! So much for that, she just happens to be texting at a light and when the left turn arrow goes green, she takes off, hitting the back of Isaiah's '69 Porsche 911, and pushing him into a Mercedes. His car won't start after the fender bender, so Maritza?? gives him a ride home, and it's in a bad neighborhood. LA is a big city, what are the chances?

As I got more into this book?, I began to dislike Maritza?? more and more. She was an absolute Be Itch to Isaiah???? all the time. Her crappy attitude got old fast! He was doing nice things for her and she didn't appreciate it, at all.

Then, all of a sudden she flipped! Now she wants to make up for all the crappy things she said to Isaiah???. For his part, Isaiah??? is not Mister perfect, except in the places where it counts? with bad girls. He's quite proud of that fact, too!

This was a really sweet book about Isaiah, a loner military man, and Maritza, a spunky waitress. Isaiah is getting ready to deploy to the Middle East in 8 days when he walks into a diner that Maritza works at. The two do not exactly hit it off. The diner she works at has a 1 pancake per customer rule and Isaiah comes across as quite rude as he insists that Ritza bring him 2 pancakes anyway. The next day, Maritza runs into him. Literally.

They decide to meet up, as friends, each day before his deployment and to treat those days as if they were Saturdays. Thus begins a series of “Saturdays” dates. As their 8 days of fun draw to a close, they agree to exchange letters during his 6 month deployment until suddenly, Isaiah stops writing.

Why did he stop writing? Why did he return to the diner only to ignore her? Did he or did he not recognize her?

I really enjoyed both characters in this book. They are complete opposites and yet get along so well. The “Saturdays” they spend together were very entertaining. The dialogue in their letters was hilarious. Maritza was spunky and had a great outlook on life. The book moved a long at a great pace. I didn’t feel like any part was drawn out too long. I don’t want to do any spoilers so you’ll just have to read the book to find out why Isaiah stopped writing and to find out what happened at the diner after his deployment. Trust me, it is good. “P.S. I Hate You” is a standalone novel with a HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maritza Claiborne is a waitress at Brentwood Pancake and Coffee; one day while slinging pancakes, Corporal Isaiah Torres takes a seat in her section...and he's so rude. Their first meeting is nothing worthy of a repeat, but when Maritza runs into Isaiah later they find the smallest bit of common ground and end up spending the rest of Isaiah's leave together.

Maritza is very bubbly. She's a positive girl who's embracing new experiences and enjoying being single in LA. She has no intentions of dating Isaiah and is keen to spend a week exploring LA with him. She definitely seems a bit too happy for Isaiah, he's much more quiet and broody seeming. But somehow their newfound friendship works.

Isaiah is definitely not looking for a relationship, he's shipping off to Afghanistan again in 9 days so a bit of easy, fun, touristy time spent with Maritza the waitress seems like the perfect way to run out the clock on his leave time. He's so adamant about not wanting anything more with Maritza it's almost detrimental to their friendship at times.

I liked both Maritza and Isaiah, though he was definitely a bit difficult at times, they were still an enjoyable couple to read about. Near the end of this book things get...interesting. I would have liked a bit more foreshadowing about what was coming. I felt like it was a little bit out of left field and also it gets resolved rather quickly and neatly. Once I was on board with this twist I thought, for sure, I was in for some major drama but then it just sort of fizzles out.

This book is something special!! I don’t even know how or when it burrowed under my skin and right into my heart. At some point it just was in there. It’s a slow burn kinda thing so get ready because it just is!! There was a point I was just terrified to continue, this book is incredible!!

Maritza is a waitress at a breakfast joint in LA. In walks Isaiah and he is a complete jerk! But he is so HOT!! The thing is he doesn’t like people, he likes to go it alone! He is career military and getting ready to deploy in 9 days!! He plans on drinking and hooking up with girls until he ships out. Well, he wasn’t expecting Maritza to come along. Now they don’t really like each other at first, but through one crazy coincidence after another Thank they end up spending time together. Maritza decides they should have a week of Saturdays to do things they wouldn’t normally do. Only as friends!! So for 9 days they have an incredible but sometimes strained relationship!!?? Then he’s gone and they keep in touch for months!! then nothing!! Just nothing!!!
So what do you do when you fall for someone, you wait for their letters and for them to come home? What happens when they fall off the face of the earth ??? What happens when after all that radio silence they walk through your door??!?! Do you shut it in their face? Cause PS I HATE YOU!!
This story at first seems so fun and cute. Read this book it will touch you in ways that you won’t expect. I enjoyed how this story was different then anything I’ve read in a long time.
It touched my soul.

Over the last year, Winter Renshaw has become a must read author for me--and this book definitely reaffirmed that.

I've been looking forward to this one since I read its blurb a few months ago. I couldn't wait to learn more about Isaiah and Maritza and uncover just what had happened between them. I had my theories going in, but Renshaw completely threw me for a loop with her twist and that made me love this book even more.

The main reason I loved this book so much was our two leads. They're absolutely great and bring this story to life in a way that just makes it addicting to read. At the start, they are a little like oil and vinegar--not completely mixing thanks to their candour and stubborn personalities. But as they get to know each other through conversations and activities, you start to see how these two would work. That was one of the things I appreciated the most about their story was actually reading the conversations these two would share. Seeing them interact on a daily basis enhanced their relationship and made their situation more realistic than not.

Simply put, this novel just strikes the right tone throughout. The drama is just right; never becoming melodramatic despite the twists along the way. The romance is sweet and charming; it isn't just about their physical attraction but a friendship. And the characters are will no doubt have you falling in love right with them--even when you don't expect it.

**I received an ARC/review copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.**

This author is so creative; each book has a twist that you don't see coming. This one was so perfectly done you just know the author was rubbing her hands with evil glee just thinking about how the readers would react! Isaiah and Maritza are so great together, but they're also terrific, well-crafted characters all on their own. The love story is built on a strong emotional foundation, and the reader's heart is as deeply invested in the outcome as the characters are.

The pacing is brilliant and the writing is lyrical and sensuous. This is a story that you just climb into and hang on for the thrilling ride. I couldn't love it more. P.S. The epilogue is the gold-standard of HEAs. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I started this book yesterday evening ,and when I went to bed last night, I realized I was already at over 50%! When I woke up this morning, I automatically started devouring it! Just finished a few minutes ago!
The book started a little slow for me, but I knew that it was going to be a good one, especially since Winter wrote it. When I first opened the book, I saw there was a "Dream Cast" and automatically went for that to try and envision who she had in mind and I wish ALL Authors would do that. It's such a great idea!!
Isaiah is broody, dark, and douche-y. You find that out from his first interaction with Maritza. He is completely rude to her.
After a random act of "fate" they end up seeing each other again, and eventually decide to spend a "Week of Saturday's" together.
Neither are looking for love or relationships, so hanging out and having fun isn't going to hinder anything. When Isaiah gets deployed on the 8th day, they decide to write to each other. After a few months, Isaiah goes 'radio silent' and Maritza doesn't hear from him until 6 months later.

I really liked this book. I only really had one "Head scratcher" Which was the calls Maritza was getting. They were never explained. It would have been nice to get closure on that, but it wasn't a big necessity. Other than that the book was really good. It kept me interested and flowed nicely.

I was really anticipating this book. It was added to my TBR the minute I saw the first promo advertising its upcoming release. The book was OK. The plot was different. The characters were likable enough. I didn't feel their chemistry was strong enough to survive the separation and radio silence though. I would have liked to see more letters exchanged or something. I was surprised by the twist. Maybe my anticipation was too high or my head wasn't in the right place to fully appreciate the book.

Honestly when I read the note at the front of the book about all the BONUS material included in the book, I very nearly returned it without reading it. As a reader who understands how KU works, I really hate when authors artificially increase their page counts by adding full-sized extra books to their novels. Especially when that bonus material is already on my kindle from previous purchases or free downloads OR the books are available for me to download thru KU. I did not read the lengthy preview of the next book because in order to do so I would've had to click to the end pages BYPASSING 2 full length novels (over 500 pages) that I was not going to read, yet the author would get credit for if I wanted to read the preview. That is unfair to other authors in the KU program for this author to get paid for 500 pages of bonus material that I didn't read. (PS I hate full length bonus novels)

In the beginning, I had a love/hate relationship with Isaiah. He comes across as cold and rude to Maritza, yet he goes out of his way to care for his mother while on military leave. Maritza has an upbeat personality that goes out of her way to please Isaiah during their first encounter. A second or was it a third chance encounter makes you wonder how can these two be so unlucky to keep crossing each others path.

Maritza has decided she wants a break from relationships, and with Isaiah shipping out in a week, the two agree to a week of Saturday's. They spend that time doing fun items that they wouldn't normally do by themselves or with their friends. At the end of the week of Saturday's they agree to part ways never to contact each other again. At the last minute, they exchange addresses. The exchanging of addresses seems to grow the two closer together, but out of nowhere, Isaiah stops writing devastating Maritza.

Why did Isaiah go silent? Would you give Isaiah a second chance? Even though it took a while for me to warm up to Isaiah, he was perfect for this story. Maritza had a strong personality from the beginning. I think we can all take some pointers from her.

I did receive an ARC of P.S. I Hate You, and this is my voluntarily review. This book will be added to my one click purchase list, because it's one I will read again.

Maritza works at Brentwood Pancake and Coffee where you are only allowed to order one pancake. When Isaiah takes a seat at her section, he wasn’t talkative nor nice. When Maritza finds out he is serving our country she decided to help him out by sneaking him another pancake. Maritza felt she was doing good deed by helping him and when she finds out he left hefty tip she wants to know more about him.
They ran into each other and Maritza finds out he will be deployed soon. All of sudden she wanted to spend more time with him without any string attached. They spend next week together doing things together normally people won’t do.
Once he was deployed, they kept in touch via snail mail and those letters were cute. But suddenly letter stops and she knows he is back from his deployment . When she faces him at her restaurant, he doesn’t recognize him and something was off about everything. Nothing is what it seems now. More twist in the story about his family and her family.
This book has lots of twist and turns but it seems it fizzled too quick or not explained enough. Both characters were okay. Maritza seem little too desperate and their relationship seems little bit rushed. At least they their own HEA.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I have no idea how to start writing this review. I did not expect to be so affected by this book, but I found myself shedding tears at some moments because I’m living a similar situation to Maritza’s, and this book broke my heart.

Two strangers who decide to get to know one another for a week because they can feel there’s a real connection between them, but only as friends. I knew from the start, it was a recipe for disaster, that NEVER works out, if you are attracted to each other things will always get complicated for one or both parties.

Military men like to think they can keep emotions separated; that lust doesn’t need to transform into love or get mixed up with jealousy. But that is almost never the case once you spend some time with the person you’re in lust with, for a couple of reasons.
First, you obviously have a sexual attraction, but if you choose to hang out with them too, it’s because you actually like them, so basically you are having sex with someone who’s personality you like… . Second, unless you have some kind of trauma that stops you from loving people, eventually you will have feelings and it will only get confusing for everyone else if you try to deny them.

I know you can tell this is not only about the book… a lot of people have probably been where Maritza was and still chose to continue on that road, even though they knew that in the end they would only get hurt. Because sometimes you accept this short period of happiness knowing that eventually this will end, but you can’t deny yourself of this time, because it will be worth it, he is worth it.

I found myself laughing at Isaiah telling her that she should have fun and have sex, and not to forget that they were only friends and not dating. If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard this from my “friend” lol. It never works out like that, as we saw on his real reaction to her sleeping with someone else (been there done that). I could picture his face like if he was in front of me, Isaiah was pissed, because it’s one thing to say you don’t care what this person does, while they are there for you and they don’t want anyone else, and it’s way different when this person takes your advise and starts to move on.

These types of guys that get scared at feelings, usually experience this moment like Isaiah, when they are faced with the fact that not only they care about this girl, but they care A LOT, and they have no idea what to do about it.

Maritza had to let go of him and it almost killed her, but sometimes you have to let people go, and they might come back to you. Maybe really losing you is the only way for them to truly accept their feelings for what they are. But you can’t wait for them forever, otherwise you risk being unhappy for the rest of your life, while you waited for someone that is never coming back.

Sorry for the downer fest, but I truly connected with this book, so the review is way more personal than what I’m used to. I really enjoyed the story, and it was evident they were perfect for each other, they just had to adjust the timing and things would work themselves out.

I read The Rebound by Winter Renshaw earlier in the year, and enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to reading P.S. I Hate You. Plus the cover for her new one is fantastic, and it’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a good cover. While this book was different from her previous novel, it was still very good and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

P.S. I Hate You revolves around Isaiah, a soldier who is about to be deployed, and Maritza, a waitress. After a few chance encounters, they decide to spend a week of Saturdays together before Isaiah’s deployment. The plan was to then remain friends, but what does one know about “the best laid plans of mice and men.” The best thing about this book was the chemistry between Maritza and Isaiah. Maritza was sweet and sassy, and a strong female lead. I was excited to learn more about her story, and see what direct Winter was going to go with her character. She was so giving of herself, and never hesitated to stick her neck out to help another person. It really made her seem like someone that I’d love to be friends with. Isaiah, on the other hand, at first came across as rude, and unlikeable, but little bits of his personality would show through that would make the reader think that there was definitely more to know about him. He was mysterious, and at times a bit moody and dark, but it made me love him even more. I’ve always been a lover of a good alpha male character, and Winter hit it out of the park with Isaiah Torres.

P.S. I Hate You is one of my favorite reads of the month, and I’m so impressed with Winter Renshaw’s writing and the way she wove this story around deployments and reunions, and separations. It can be really hard to write a romance novel where the two love interests are separated for a length of time, without the story becoming stale and boring. P.S. I Hate You, never felt that way to me, and I really thought it was some fantastic writing. There’s a good mix of angst, humor, romance, and mystery that kept me hooked and turning the pages. Winter illustrates in this book just why she’s such a great reader, and why so many people love her books. Don’t hesitate to pick this one up. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Isaiah Torres is a hard man - an Army corporal on leave for 9 days before deploying back to Afghanistan, he's only in LA to visit his sick mother. Controlled and distant, he's definitely not boyfriend material for the effervescent waitress who serves him extra pancakes (in flagrant violation of the restaurant's strict policy) then later accidentally rear-ends his vintage Porche. But there is something about the unfailing kindness of this waitress that draws him to her. He's used to pulling easy one-night stands, because that is ALL he is willing to give. But when Maritza suggests that they spend his remaining leave having strictly non-romantic days out, he can't help but agree. Everything about her (apart from the undeniable attraction they have for each other) is wrong for Isaiah. He's not in the market for a relationship because, frankly, women aren't trustworthy, so why waste his time on them? But there is something so good, so feisty, so irresistible about Maritza that chips away at his cold heart. When she writes him letters after he deploys, she promises that they are (only) friends, and as proof, she'll confirm that she's not in love with him by signing off with "P.S. I hate you."

I received an ARC of this fabulous book and am letting you know my honest views. I enjoyed every single page of this, even the tough parts, when Isaiah is doing his best to be a cold-hearted SOB to push Maritza away -- it's for her own good, or so he believes. As with all Winter Renshaw books, the characters are multi-dimensional, and she draws you into their stories so deeply that you just HAVE to know what happens next. Warmth, sacrifice, humor, super-hot sex and love abound.

Maritza and Isaiah!

Maritza is a happy go lucky kinda girl. Always sees the best in others and eternally optimistic! She works as waitress while she figuring what to do with her life.
Isaiah is an soldier and he's on temporary leave, due to go back in 9 days after re-enlistment. He's controlled, rigid and a bit of an a-hole!! He is rude to Maritza and she somehow managed to keep her temper in check.
They then end up in fender bender and she gives him a ride home. She's asks a million questions and Isaiah reluctantly answers her. She convinces him to spend "a week of Saturdays" together before he gets deployed again. They have 2 rules, a) no lies, straight up honesty and b) no romance.
They spend a week doing touristy things in LA. Things neither would have initially done with out the other. They have a night of passion in between and a kiss or two, too. By the end of the week they trade addresses for them to write while he's overseas.

I loved this book. I always know that I'm going to love the plot. I loved Maritza's energy and Isaiah's dark, moody personality. They complemented each other so well. Maritza lit up and she had no problems at all calling Isaiah on his bullshit. He has a secrets that hold him back from actually living life. He's just going through the motions and Maritza pulls him out if it. But something happens and he goes radio silent and she tries her hardest to move on.
There are twists along the way that I didn't see coming, as usual! I love it when I expect one thing and get another. I loved these two characters. I wanted more. I would have loved a little more background on Maritza though. I also loved the snippet on Melrose's book. Can't wait to read that! And the Q&A, loved it too!

I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an ARC!

This is a mostly fun, non-romantic story. Neither one looking for love. Neither one wanting a relationship. Neither one admitting that they are in fact falling for the other... until it's too late. After chance meetings a few times (that didn't end on good terms.. they pretty much hated each other) they end up having sex (of course with no strings, no attachment.) Afterwards they make a plan to spend the next week doing things that neither have done before.. no matter how silly they may be, before he goes on his next tour of duty. Both agreeing to be barely friends, no romance, no BS or lies. Just to have fun and enjoy the time he has left in town. Even after spending all that time together, they still don't really know each other and that fact has some consequences that threaten to tear them apart. (A little twist to their story.) Most of the book is lighthearted as we watch them interact and deny their true feelings, but there are a couple heavier moments displayed. Nothing too dark. His character is more serious and it was fun to see him get playful with her. Where as, she's a spunky, no nonsense, tell it like it is kind of gal. They go well together. It's well written and easy and quick to read. There is some sexual content but it's not a smut read and its not too graphic (and the scenes are fairly short.) I did wish there was more to the whole twist part of the story. I would have liked to see the character interact more. It's written from alternating POVs.

*I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.

Maritza Claiborne is a waitress in a cafe when she meets Isaiah Torres, a Corporal in the army. Their first meeting does not go so well and neither does their second. But after their third encounter Maritza suggests they hang out together for a week of "Saturday's" before Isaiah is deployed.

The two begin to exchange letters until one day they just stop.

Now Maritza must put aside her feelings and go on hating the man who nearly stole her heart.

This was such a great book and I loved the twists and turns that the book gave the reader!

The two had such an awkward relationship at the beginning with how they met and how Isaiah really wanted two pancakes. He was so rude but it also made me laugh as I had no idea if Maritza was going to pour syrup on the guy or what.

But through it all the two ended up having a great friendship and they loved hanging out with each other. I was definitely worried about what was going to happen when Isaiah went overseas.

The twist about half way through completely threw me for a loop and I was thinking it was something else because of the war.

Ian was such a jerk!!

The ending was awesome and I am so glad they managed to get through it all!! I was worried but the author definitely made me happy at the end!

To say Isaiah Torres is complicated and emotionally guarded is an understatement. The man has had to be in order to navigate life, family and war. We are introduced to him right after he had waited in line a long time only to be denied the breakfast he wanted. He was angry...so he was a tad bit naughty with his waitress but this was not her first rodeo and she managed the situation perfectly.

Life has a way of righting situations and this story is a perfect example. If you are like me, confusion will be the first thing that pops up only to be followed by a series of coincidences that lead the characters down a path neither of them would have envisioned. Yes, Maritza and Isaiah meet in a very unexpected way and the story that follows will take you places you would not expect as these two individuals manage life under challenging situations.

It's an emotional story filled with wonderful characters, lots of family members, a great back story and surprises all around. Sit back and enjoy the story...this one is yet another example of Winter Renshaw at her finest. I received a reader copy in exchange for an honest review and I have absolutely no problem awarding this one a full five stars for another job, very well done!

Two people that seem so different yet are perfect for each other. To say that the first impression that Maritza has of her customer Isaiah is not flattering is an understatement. He is rude and does not respond to great personality but mysteriously leaves a $100 tip. But fate has them meeting again when she rear ends his car later that day. It will not start so she drives him back to his home. He is a ten year veteran with a week home before he goes back to the duty for six months. They decide to have a week of Saturday’s before he leaves.
They have great days and are falling for each other despite the no romance rule. Isaiah appears guarded but you can tell be the interaction with his mother and Maritza that he has a good heart.
On the last day the connect and she convinces him to exchange addresses for letters. The letters are great and improve with time. They both learn about each other and look forward to the letters. Until they stop and months go by. Forces are in play to keep them apart and when they are back together will they reunite or break apart.
I loved this book. Loved the characters and their adventures. I enjoyed the supporting characters of their family as well. Excellent book with drama, love and humor.

Maritza met Isaiah at the diner where she works. She found him rude with a disregard for rules. After she bends the rules to help him out he remains rude and she can’t wait to see him go. Unfortunately, she literally runs into him soon after when they are involved in a fender bender. This does not improve Isaiah’s mood.

After finding out he will return to active duty in a week she suggest they do some basic sight seeing things that neither one of them has done despite being lifelong residents of the city. All goes well and they agree to exchange letters as almost friends.

Letters are exchanged that have them, eventually, second guessing their friendship. Then tragedy strikes, throwing their already fragile relationship into oblivion.

Soon after this a sibling of Isaiah’s shows up painting a very different picture of Isaiah; leading Maritza to second guess everything she thought she knew about her friend.

This story was a pleasant surprise with a twist I didn’t see coming! I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and included background into both Maritza and Isaiah’s lives. I recommend this to all fans of the genre. This is my second book by Ms Renshaw, but hopefully not my last.
