This started as a comic book like but interesting story. But the "glitch, pow, hurk!" Became overwhelmingly inane and the story ran around the same circles over and over again. With some vicious editing it might have made a good book or two, but ten?!!!

I started skipping whole books just to get to the resolution. How does Nath get over being vain and childish and bringing his friends to disaster over and over again without learning anything?? Sadly, in the end he just _does_. No real believable explanation give the same stimulae happened a zillion times before with no effect.

And then to see that there is a whole 'nother series of Nath Dragon "adventures" to follow? You dare!

I'm always moaning about short books. I like to sink my teeth into nice, long books. Well, this is a collection of short books in a series; and all together, it is as long as I could have wished.

I believe that this is a great saga for either YA or adults. Lots of action, no sex or strong language. I read it without breaking for other books; but then again, I'm rather compulsive. Other readers might want to break for a while with another book, since as I mentioned--the collection in its entirety is quite lengthy.

The main character (Nath Dragon) is a Dragon who is still in his human form. His sire is the King of the Dragons. His main companion is a Dwarf. There are numerous supernatural species in this World.

The world building could be more complete, as there are several blanks concerning its history. The main character takes a LONG time to mature (as much as he ever does). He's like a teen on caffeine. The collection, at its ending, is reasonably concluded-- but it leaves quite a few questions unanswered. I see that there is a continuation of the series, so that is the explanation for the Author leaving some issues unresolved. The book (s) need some further editing, since the adventures lack cohesion. This is mainly a result of the short books being lumped into an "Omnibus" collection. Several important events are never sufficiently explained. I found myself going back to check if I missed something, and then just scratching my head in confusion and moving on.

Long as it was, it kept me interested until the end. Most of the characters were nicely developed, although I was quite disappointed with the lack of depth on Nath's father, the Dragon King. I wanted to know much more about him and his history. If you like a long Epic Fantasy with lots of action, this may be a good read for you. I enjoyed it.

I enjoy reading well- written YA/children's books--but this was not one of them. The target audience of 4th-7th grade boys will probably like this book a lot, but more discerning readers will be disappointed. Limited vocabulary (the author's favorite adjectives seem to be 'mystic' and 'evil'), poorly developed themes, minimal characterization, tediously repetitive battles, and excessive use of sound effects such as 'ka-pow' and 'whop', make these stories better suited to a comic book series than to a fantasy novel.

I had read in some of the other critiques that these books were meant for young adults. I honestly enjoyed them. The plot was complex. The growth of the main character could go one way or the other through then entire book and you never knew which way. The fighting was well played out with not the good guy always winning but a flicker of hope still remained.

For a teen this book is an excellent coming of age story to read. And even for adults, I see no reason why we cannot not enjoy the depth and growth within, for we are always charged with this type of charge every day in our lives.

I have enjoyed each and every one of these book and glad that I got them all at once and it is my hope that for any age you will find the courage that I found through these pages.

If you love the hobbit or lord of the rings you will love this series. It has magic, gnomes, elves, dragons, mages, dwarves, giants, elves, and requisite amount of bad guys and people who turn into dragons. Nath Dragon gets pushed out of his home by his father along with a friend Brenwar ( a dwarf) and all his adventures begin, 10 books in all, I’m glad I got to read the whole series. It helps if you read from one book to the next to help understand what’s going on. But you won’t be able to put it down.
You will want to read the next series Tale of Dragon. I can’t wait to read it!
I found this book to be entertaining even if it was targeted at teenagers. I found the characters to be full of the strengths and weaknesses to which we are all subject from compassion to impatience to foolhardiness to love and more. Mr. Halloran's imagination created this fantasy world and it makes me want to join in the fight for right and good. Having all ten books in one set made this a journey worth taking.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have!

I got hooked on this series when I got the book "Exiled" via a free book email I get daily (which is the best free book email I've seen lol). "Exiled"is the first in a series of prequels to this 10 book series " The Chronicles of Dragon Collection". After reading "Exiled", I joined Kindle Unlimited (free month trial) and downloaded this set.
I wasn't disappointed at ANY part of this set!! What he did in"Exiled" which hooked me, he continued with awesome imagery, language, structure, and continuity.
Some authors have small issues with keeping so many characters fresh, but not Mr Halloran. His characters are always fresh and ready to bust heads, feet, wings, trails, talons, etc!! It's a wonderful read and since I, myself, am definitely a prodigious reader (just finished my 4,649th book of 2018), I'm even more excited to start on the next series of Nath's adventures!!
I really beg any readers who check reviews to please check Craig Halloran's books out!!The Chronicles of Dragon Collection (Series 1 Omnibus, Books 1-10): The Ultimate Dragon Book Fantasy Collection

Interesting story, has dragons, mages, dwarves, giants, elves, and requisite amount of bad guys but....seems like there are many battles and characters get really beat up but miraculously recover in no time. Magic and sorcery included. After the first 10+ encounters with the "bad" guys, it gets kinda old and you want to just get to the end. The plot has some credibility for a fantasy sci-fi just drags on too long. (And there are a couple of more books I believe with 150 or so pages each. Glad I was able to read in the unlimited library (not really worth the price)

I wanted to like this.
But I am on book 5 and the repetition is SOOO boring!
Have you ever been reading a book and started scrolling through it because the same thing happened over and over again?
And you were scrolling fast-forward, hoping for something different to happen-but it didn't?
If you enjoy that kind of thing, then this is the book for you!
Here's a very brief synopsis.
Nath the Dragon/man is growing up. His father bascially disowns him because Nath kills to protect himself-which is (for some reason)
against the rules for Nath-but not anyone else. And everyone else around him either looks at him with sad eyes when he does-or verbally
abuses him, like his "friend" the dwarf does. Yes, the dwarf really is his friend, but he is abusive...As are the sound effects in caps-SNAP CLICK SNAP, WACK! WHAP! WHOMP!, KAAAAAAAAAAABOOOOWWWWW! (I mean, really?)
Of course there is a storyline, but really, when you get down to it...this series is boring and the main character is being abused by friends and family.
I've read a bit more than 11,000 pages (out of 24,000+ pages) but am getting really annoyed with this series.

My 12 year old asked if we could rate it a 10 or 11 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

He has loved this series and was always ready to update me on the adventures he was reading.

Excellent fantasy. The characters grow and change throughout the books. There is plenty of fighting for everyone. The books are filled with dragons, trolls, orcs, goblins, bugbears, halflings, pixies, elves and more. The character of Nath Dragon is on a quest to find his inner dragon. We follow that quest by watching his scales change color throughout the books. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good dragon fantasy.

This is a story easily digested...
I probably won't be re-reading this story,
but I'll probably keep the books around for my kids to read when they get old enough.
The books were a fun read & got me hooked on e-books.

Man I wish this set was available when I was reading series one. The entire series is a different take on dragons and fantasy from most of what I read, and it's awesome. I bugged the author so much I think he started the second series early just to shut me up. Seriously though, I read 2 books a week, and this series is in my top 4. Read fast because series 2 comes out in 2 weeks!

I read a lot so when I find inexpensive or free fiction books I download them and read them when I get to them. For the price these books are great. I never give away any books plot as you should read it yourself.

You really did a great job for this 58 year old . I enjoyed the pictures as well as the great adventure that you never knew was coming. And i do like the ending, you will have to ask your mother aha ha ha.

Decent light reading with some grammatical errors, but not bad enough to make me put it down. It kept me entertained enough to finish the series, which in itself is a pretty good testament. For a book or series to hold my attention is no mean feat and there are several I've started but will never finish. This is not one of those and I encourage others to give it a look. Good job Craig!

I really enjoyed this series. So much so that I am currently reading the next dragon series. It's a good versus evil with lots of twists and turns. I like that they show hero going through struggles and often portrayed as a child who is still in the learning phase. It never hits a dull moment for me.

I've brought and read every last one of these book and they are so amazing. I was always waiting to see what was next in the next one. By the time the last one was complete, I was sad the journey was over....... It was it?!?! One of my favorite series by far.

You hear that some books are for all ages but most times they are not they are either to juvenile for adults or to adult for juveniles. The Chronicles of the Dragon is truly for all ages so much so that I stopped reading it and started it over with my 9 year-old as our night time reading. True it added weeks to the reading time but it was well worth it we both enjoyed Nath and are looking forward to the next book. I would highly recommend this book to the young and the young at heart.

I cannot believe I finished these books. I found most of the characters pretty one dimensional or obnoxious. The books do move at a fairly fast pace, so at least there was something going on all the time to keep my interest.

The character and plot development in the early books was superficial. The writing was sub-par, but the later books did improve. If you just was something relatively predictable with a few plot twists, then this series is for you.
