I purchased this because it was the required Bible for 1st graders. Although it is targeted for ages 6-10, of course for a six year old it is definitely still very challenging to read and understand but I feel like it might become a favorite in just a few years. I like this slightly simplified version and the commentary boxes, colors on pages, and images are appealing to kids. I also love the hard cover, which will preserve this Bible for many years to come! I do hope my review is also helpful in your own purchasing decisions!

I thought there would be more pictures, even a comic strip. But it is still a great early readers bible. Perfect for my 3rd grader. It's a bit challenging for her. But she can still read it, and will grow in to it. The cover is nice and we love the design.

I strongly recommend! I'm a kindergarten teacher at a private school. I bought one for each of my students as their graduation gift. I challenged my secret agents to read the Bible on their own because I knew they could. A couple days later, a parent emailed me telling me she found her daughter asleep with her Bible on her chest. So sweet. It's so worth it! I will do it again next year. It's a great way for children to develop a hunger for Gods word at a young age.
For example, instead of the word "portion" in Psalm 73:25,26, it said "everything I need". Perfect! It is not dumbed down at all. It's the most complete Bible I've seen for children. I'd even say up to 5th or 6th grade. They may not like the cover...so just put cool duck tape around it.

My son went to church camp a couple weeks ago and saw a friend with this bible. He wanted the same one because it was easy for him to read so we ordered it and he's been engrossed in it ever since! He's 8 years old!

It is age-appropriate for my six-year old grandson who is just learning to read and who loves turtles (cover) and the graphics in the Bible. These features and others give him additional reasons to read and get in touch with the message of the Scriptures. The translation (NivR) appears to be true to the text, but couched in language that youngsters can grasp. The cover appears to be pretty durable and capable of withstanding the challenges that a six year old can provide when carrying (and sometimes dropping) it. The price is in the range that is affordable for most folks. I am glad that this edition is available.

My son was given the hardcover book that's over 500 pages...although it's a great feeling to flip thru the pages!! This version is soooo much easier for an adult like myself to understand! ?☺️ I was very happy to find this in an eBook version to have on my iPhone or iPad to read on the go or when traveling!!!! Very happy with the purchase and cost and it's light too!!! ? thank you for having this available via eBook,,,

After reading my Bible to my boys, ages 2-9, at night (starting from the 1st testament) I realized I needed to purchase one that was more child appropriate while also staying true to The Word. This book fit the bill, and my guys love the extra tidbits which are found throughout the book as well! Great source to teach children to read the Bible daily!

I absolutely loved it!! I think it’s great for kids. Easy to read and the colors are great. I also bought veggietales bibke tabs and the Bible covers that go with it I bought 2 sets. My kids loved it. Greatest investment so far. Way cheaper than any other bookstore that’s for sure. I want to add more pictures.

I really like how this Bible is set up! I'm so glad that there is a Bible out there that is targeted for young men. I will definitely pass this Bible onto my next son, And will also pass it onto my youngest son!

I am very disappointed. I purchased this bible for a young boy about to be baptized in the church. He is just beginning to read and I thought this would be fun for him. I would NOT consider this a bible for early readers AT ALL. I don't consider 4th or 5th graders early readers. It's completely inappropriate to label this as a bible for early readers. I have no complaints about the book's content, I'm sure it's delightful and will go in our worship bookshelf for kids. However, I feel pretty peeved at this misleading title.

Children’s Bibles are tricky. When I was in third grade, I was given a Good News Bible (with a few line drawings every 100 pages or so) and expected to read at an adult level. Since then, publishers have put out illustrated story Bibles for toddlers and preschoolers. Those are terrific, but most children’s Bibles use adult-level translations despite their eye-catching covers, illustrations, and attempts to get kids interested. This Bible is no exception, but it’s a nice effort.

Viewing this book from a child’s perspective, the cover immediately grabs my attention. The 3-D “moving” picture (when you tilt your head from side to side) is great, as are the full-color illustrations and little sections such as “Did you know?” and “Life in Bible Times.” I like the illustrated introductory page to each chapter with basic facts about the author, purpose of the book, and main themes. My favorite section is the “Words to Treasure” that highlights key Bible verses.

All of this is great, and I plan to give the Bible as a gift to a child at my church. But, and this is always the problem with children’s Bibles, the actual Biblical text is too difficult, the font too small, and the lines too close together. I understand it’s cost-prohibitive and too heavy to print larger font and make the book much heavier, but perhaps we could have had a volume one and two? The NIrV is a nice simplification, but it’s still a lot of dense text. From my experiences as an adult trying to read in a foreign language (the closest I can get to remembering what it’s like to be a new reader), I can attest to the importance of manageable amounts of text per page. Otherwise, it’s easy to give up. I would love a children’s Bible that goes beyond the very limited storytelling of toddler Bibles but doesn’t expect children to read the entire text of the Bible at once. This Bible says it is for ages 6-10, but it would take an accomplished and perseverant 6-10 year old child to read this book.

However, based on the other available children’s Bibles (which aren’t many, besides toddler versions), this one is satisfactory. On its own merits, I would give the NIrV Adventure Bible three and half stars. Compared to other children’s Bibles available, I give it four.

They say every Christian has a heart version ( a version that just resonates with who they are and at first they probably thought the Bible was written in that version not translated into it). For me, it’s the Living Bible not the NLT... I am a 4 year old at heart. I still watch Barney and I have a gift for relating to preschool kids and with ministry to kids... so, I have seen many kid’s Bibles and Bible story books.

That said, I am confused about what sets the NIrV apart from the NIV. I am a seminary student who is also very dyslexic. So I prefer my devotional time to be with something very easy to read. I get enough deep scholarly a Greek and Hebrew with homework. I have an audio version of this so maybe I am missing something maybe the kiddie bit is in the graphics but I have no idea what qualities this as a kids Bible let alone “adventure”? Seems like they put that word in the title just to catch kid’s interest. I would recommend the Day by day kid’s Bible over this one. That is actually the best kid’s Bible I have seen great for new Christian’s too. It’s the whole Bible with the genealogies removed, the Gospels as one story, the psalms are next to the events that caused the author to write them... by contrast from what I remember, this is more a collection of Bible stories and the language is very close ( if not identical to the NIV)

For Christmas last year, we wanted to get Stinker a "big kid Bible". She was about 5 and a half, and was learning to read, and wanted something that had the entire Word in it, instead of another Story Bible. We decided to get her the Adventure Bible NIV, but she didn't take to reading it independently as much as I would have liked. The original NIV Adventure Bible is marketed for kids age 8-12, so I wasn't too surprised, but was still on the lookout for an unabridged Children's Bible with wording and activities she would understand. When I found out about the NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers I was really excited to get it for Stinker!

The Bible itself is written in the New International Reader's Version (NIrV), which is similar to the New International Version (NIV), just a little easier to read. The features of the Adventure Bible for Early Readers are similar to the Adventure Bible, but written with younger readers in mind. For example, the memory verses embedded in the text are the same verses, but written in their respective version, and the "Live It" and "Life in Bible Times" snippets have the same general theme, but are written with words that younger kids would understand. The Adventure Bible for Early Readers also features full color features, color maps, and engaging illustrations.

Although Stinker, who is not quite 6 years old, isn't independently reading the Bible on her own yet, she likes to look through it and read a sentence here and there. The full color really keeps her interest. If you already have an Adventure Bible for older children, you will probably see a lot of repetition, and it probably isn't worth purchasing The Adventure Bible for Early Readers. But if you're looking for a good starter Bible to get your 6-10 year old interested in the Word, this is a really nice option.

If you're not familiar with the NIrV vs the NIV, here is Psalm 23:1-3 in both versions:

NIrV: "The LORD is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need. He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters. He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name."

NIV: "The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake."

Recently I requested a copy of the NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers from Book Look Bloggers. I know that this is not a Catholic Children's Bible, but I've reviewed one of those and it's not perfect either. My 6.5 year old is starting to be a fairly proficient reader and it would be nice to have a bible she can read on her own. She has picked it up several times all on her own. Once I even heard her reading the creation story to her younger sister.

The NIrV is the New International REVISED Version of the bible. It is slightly different from the NIV which was the basis for the Catholic Children's Bible, which is leaves a lot to be desired for that reason. I didn't go through every passage on this list, but did notice that several passages were better than the NIV, the large missing chunk of John was there and some of the references of Satan being called the Morning Star were clarified from NIV. There were still missing verses and poor wording, but in my opinion NIrV is superior to NIV. It's superior enough that even though its missing 7 books, I still prefer her to use the Adventure Bible for Early Readers over the Catholic Children's Bible.

Translation aside, the Adventure Bible for Early Readers is a wonderful bible. Having a hard cover really helps with durability. That cover is the first line of defense from baby brothers and wear and tear in general. Plus, its just plain easier to use. My version had the special edition 3D cover, which was pretty cool.

The Adventure Bible for Early Readers is intended for children from 6-10 years old and retails for $25-$40 depending on the type of cover and location purchased. Inside it feels much like a regular bible. The text is broken into 2 columns per page with headings just like in a regular bible. The print is still fairly small, but the pages are a little thicker and have splashes of color. The chapter numbers are color as well as all the special breakout boxes. There is a feature called Words to Treasure highlighting verses worth memorizing and Did You Know? that points out interesting facts. My favorite is Life In Bible Times, though, because we are supposed to read the books through the lens of the time & culture during which they were written.

Overall, I liked the NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers. It's not perfect, but I like the readability factor as well as the consistency in things like place names so kids aren't confused. I am also impressed with the fact that they are very open with eliminated verses & why in the beginning. I disagree with their reasoning, but I like that they are up front about it. Despite the missing books, I would recommend it over the Catholic Children's Bible due to the better translation, but that's just my opinion. Either way, it's worth checking out and ideal for a first REAL bible.

I love to look at new Bibles, and one that I’ve wanted to take a look at for a while is The Adventure Bible. So, when I received the opportunity to review one of them, I couldn’t pass on the opportunity.

This is the full text of the Bible, and it’s translated into the NIrV edition, making the words very friendly for young readers. The NIrV is not one of my favorite translations, but it does have a compelling storybook quality that I find to be fun as a read aloud.

Here’s what I love about this Bible:

It’s in full color! All the boxes are colorful and illustrated.

The “Life in Bible-Times” boxes. These are small articles with illustrations to show your child what life was like in ancient times.

The “Live it!” sections These are additional stories and activities for your child that can be used as devotions or just for Biblical knowledge and application as they’re reading.

The “Did You Know?” sections. This points out small and interesting facts and often gives definitions to go along with the facts.”

I think I’m probably going to be putting this Bible away for Christmas now that I’ve went through it for review purposes and giving it to my four year old as his first “big kid” Bible. I think he (and the other children) will enjoy exploring the boxes of colorful information and that this will be more of a reference for learning more about people in Bible times. Now, if only they would make a cutesy updated Adventure Bible in a KJV that the children could use at church, I would be buying them for all the kids!!

Let me just give you an overview of what's in this bible:

Life in Bible Times - Articles and illustrations describe what life was like in ancient days
People in Bible Times - Articles offer close-up looks at amazing people of the Bible
Let’s Live It! - Hands-on activities help you apply biblical truths to your life
Did You Know? - Interesting facts help you understand God's Word
Words to Treasure - Great verses to memorize
Twenty special pages - Games and other Bible fun, all with a jungle safari theme
Book introductions, a dictionary, and color maps
I've always thought I would love to have this bible for my kids, but it's so different looking at one in the store and being able to have one in my home. I wanted to be able to hold it and really take my time with it. And I was not disappointed.

This bible is just beautiful, inside and out. It's written in a NIrV, very similar to NIV, and easily accessible for young readers. There's plenty of little extras like the dictionary, memorizations, profiles of biblical characters, all of which combine to encourage young readers in their spiritual growth. The full color pages are engaging without being cartoonish. And the quality of this bible is beautiful with a hardcover and pages thick enough to keep the print from showing through.

The only drawback to this version is the 3D cover which just cheapened the look overall. I just would have preferred to have had the cover from an earlier version.

Overall, I'm very happy with this bible. I would recommend this version for ages 7 and up.

*Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this bible for review. All opinions are my own.

The NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers published by Zondervan is not only a fun Bible for kids but very simple and practical for easy learning. This hardback version is in full color and is easy to follow. From a Children’s Pastor’s viewpoint I would most likely purchase these Bibles for the kids in my kids church. From a Mom’s perspective I would enjoy reading along with my own children.

Some awesome aspects of this NIrV Adventure Bible are as follows:
• At the beginning of each book of the Bible they answer the Who, What, Why, For, When, and Where questions.
• Throughout the pages there are sections labeled:
o “Words to Treasure”, which is a main Bible verse that is easy for the kids to memorize.
o “People in Bible Times”, which gives a brief description of a person that they read about.
o “Did you know”, which asks a question a kid may ask and then they provide the answer.
o “Life in Bible times”, which gives a description of vital information of the people and how they lived to help them understand what they are reading better.
o “Live it!”, which explains how the kids can apply what they are reading to their daily lives.
• Other great learning perks that are included are colored maps, charts, and a dictionary in the back.

I would recommend this Bible for kids to incorporate into their daily Bible Reading. It is not only easy for them to read but they have plenty of information that will be fun for them to explore on each page. My stepdaughter is going to love this Bible for her birthday!

I received this book free from booklookbloggers.com and these opinions are my own.

What a cool kids Bible! I love the 3D cover on the front! I think this would be great for a child aged from 8-12ish, it has lots of interest factors and background information to explain certain things in language a child can read and understand. I like at the beginning of each book of the Bible it is introduced telling who wrote it, if known and a summary and lessons we can learn and that kind of information. Another great feature of this Bible is that they have pulled out key verses that would work very well as memory verses that is in a section called 'Words To Treasure'. This really is a stunning Bible with so much interesting stuff in it! It has colored pages every so often with other information like listing the children of the Bible or How We Should Pray or Who Is Jesus. At the end it has maps and also a dictionary so if a child comes across a word they don't know they can check there and the meanings are written really clearly that a child could understand.
I would highly recommend this Bible to parents, grandparents or anyone looking for a really fun Bible for kids. It's not just a Bible, it's a self-educational tool around the Bible too.

Please Note: Book Look sent me a copy of this book to review. This review is not influenced by anyone else - it is my own.

I was very excited to review this Bible for my family. My son is really starting to enjoy his Jesus Calling storybook Bible and so I have been trying to find a good regular Bible for him. This one is great. He loves the cover, which has an awesome sticker on the front (lenticular 3D motion on the cover.) The NIrV translation is easy to read an understand, and I think we will have lots of fun with story time in this Bible.
It has lots of color on the pages, with articles on Life in Bible times, People in Bible times and Did you Know facts. I enjoy reading those even. The Famous Children of the Bible page can help kids find stories about other kids from the Bible and see if they can relate to them. There's a page on question kids ask, and gives verses for them to look up for those answers.
The introduction pages have basic information about when the book was written and some important things that happened in the timeline of the book. Very helpful for those kids who are doing their own Bible study
I really do love this Bible. It is targeted for kids who are able to read on their own and do their own study (ages 6-9), but I think it's going to be a great addition to our reading for our kids. It has the whole translation of the Bible so that kids can learn along with their parents in easy to read words. I would totally recommend this to anyone with kids of any age who want to learn more about the Bible.

Written in an easy-to-read and accessible manner, the NIrV "Adventure Bible" is just what you've been looking for when it comes to the developing readers in your family! The Bible is based on the popular New International Version, but has been adapted into easier language (i.e. shorter sentences and simpler words) without changing the meaning of the text, thus becoming the New International Readers Version. The Bible has also been complemented by a whole host of child-friendly features, from colourful chapter headings, to excerpts of "key verses". There are sections called "Did you Know?" that provide some background information to give the reader a clearer understanding of the passage, along with sections titled "Live it!" that help the reader apply a concept to their own lives. And have I mentioned that the front cover is a 3D cover? My kids can't get enough of it!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my children take an interest in scripture, and the Adventure Bible is designed to do just that. From the minute this Bible arrived in our household, my school-aged children were captivated, from the bright and sturdy cover to the colourful pages on the inside. I love the extras sprinkled throughout, and my favourite is truly the "Live It" sections that often focus on the whole family participating, giving ideas for a craft everyone can do or a game the family can play. This Bible is good not only for the individual reader, but for a family looking for a Bible to incorporate into their devotional and worship times. I have also found it very helpful to look in this Bible when my children are struggling to understand a certain verse they have read or been taught at Sunday School, as the language is so easy for them to understand. I really can't recommend this Bible enough!

If you are looking for a Bible that will find your children and indeed your whole family diving into Word, then pick up a copy of the Adventure's Bible! 5 out of 5 stars.

I was fascinated with this Bible from the minute I took it out of the box. I have been looking for a Bible my first grader can read on her own, as I am trying to instill a daily personal devotional time with my children. This is probably more of a second/third grade level, unless you have an advanced reader. The words are easier to read than those of a regular Bible, although the publishers claim to keep it as close as possible to the Greek original. That is certainly a concern of mine so I looked up several verses that were kind of key to me.
For example: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." KJV
This Bible quotes it as: "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life."
Although the wording is easier the content seems to be the same.

This Bible not only has a beautiful and attractive cover (the one I received had 3D Motion on the cover), but also has very bright colorful pages on the inside and lots of Bonus material. My copy was hardback. There are pages that explain Life in Bible Times, such as people and places, so the child can get an idea of how life back then compares to the present. There's a Let's Live It! section that helps them apply it to their daily life. Also included, special Words to Treasure, which specifically picks out wonderful verses the kids should memorize. There are maps, a dictionary and may more features. I do not know if all of these Bibles have the 3D cover, but it is a nice added bonus feature, and makes it very appealing.

I was blessed with this Bible by BookLook Blogging program in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I was not required to give a positive review.

As my children became more confident, independent readers, we gave them an Adventure Bible. It was easy for them to understand and very appealing to them as young readers. The latest version may be my favorite so far.

The Adventure Bible for Early Readers, NIrV, makes it easy for young readers to dig into God’s Word on their own. In addition to the easy-to-read text, the Bible features colorful pages that include the following:

Life in Bible Times - Information and illustrations that describe what life was like in ancient days.

People in Bible Times – Close-up looks at the amazing people of the Bible.

Let’s Live It! – Hands-on activities help kids apply biblical truths to their lives.

Did You Know? – Interesting facts to help kids understand God’s Word.

Words to Treasure – Great verses for kids to memorize.

It also includes book introductions, a dictionary, maps, and special pages that address things like Bible Themes and Questions Kids Ask with Bible verses that address each of those, Famous Children of the Bible and where to read about them, Getting To Know Jesus and more.

I love this new version of the Adventure Bible for Early Readers, NIrV. The special edition 3-D cover is so fun and full color pages inside are very kid-friendly. The text is easy for young readers to understand and the extra insight available helps the reader gain a broader understanding of what they are reading. The hardback cover makes it durable for young readers.

I would have loved a Bible like this as a child. It is a wonderful Bible for young readers as well as a Bible that can be enjoyed together as a family.

This is my 7-year-old daughter's first Bible of her own. It's working out well for her and our version has a fancy 3D cover that my 4-year-old boy loves. So, yes, I'm sure it'll be passed on to him at some point.

Inside, “Adventure Bible” has special features, including “Words to Treasure” to encourage memory verses; “Did You Know?” boxes that point out interesting facts; blurbs about people and life in Bible times; a dictionary; and the standard book introductions, subject index, charts and maps. These features are what my daughter loves when browsing the Bible herself.

She went to church camp for the first time this summer and took her new Bible with her. She liked being able to look up the theme verse in her own book and I realized the page with Philippians 3:12-15 is still dog-eared.

We recommend this Bible for children who are able to read and want to explore the word of God. It's easy to understand and has elements that draw in the younger readers.

This is a great Bible for early readers. It’s easy to understand and worded specifically for young readers. It’s a full color Bible and has all kinds of special features. It’s identical to the NIV Adventure Bible so you would have no problems transitioning from this Bible to the older version of the Bible. It has all kinds of inserts for Bible study, memorization and you can use the Adventure Bible Devotional right along beside it in order to study with your kids and help train them how to get in the Word for themselves.

My favorite feature is the “Life in Bible Times” section where it explains what something was or how things were done in Bible times. It puts the Bible into perspective and makes it a bit more real for the kids. It also has book introductions as well as fun images that kids like.

This is the hardcover version but it is also available in many other bindings. Including Italian Duo-Tone in a several color choices.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE

I would have to say that this is the cutest Children’s Bible I’ve seen. I love the cover! And any child is sure to love it too! I love the animals on the cover, because that is what will capture the eyes of children. And the inside is just for a child! The pictures, the captions, all of the different sections to teach children more about God’s Word are so eye catching and so very adorable. If you are looking for a Bible that your child will be eager to carry to church, and eager to read, this Bible would be a wonderful addition to your child’s library. I just can’t say enough about this Adorable Bible. And I love seeing more and more Bibles for the younger generation!

I love this Bible! I own quite a few bibles and kids bibles, and this one is by far my favorite. It is not a Bible your kids can sit down with and look at the pictures of. It is a full Bible, with a good easy translation for kids to understand. Kids of reading age will do fine with this bible.

What I really love the most is that the commentary facts are awesome. I pastor a church and the side notes in this Bible could be really useful to a lot of adults that need a study aid when reading the Bible. The features of this Bible are great, and we'll be using it to give out to our elementary age kids at the church. Totally recommend!

This is a great beginner bible. It reads like a story book. I love the colored pages, the engaging Live It sections, People in Bible Times, Life in Bible Times and Words to Treasure. It has maps and an Activities Index. I also like that when a person or Yeshua is quoting from the Old Testament they have added the verse for your own look up. That is one of the best parts of the bible. The negatives are the binder is flimsy and will not hold up. I also don't like that it does not have an index of the 150 most famous bible stories. This is helpful for parents who want to just look up a story in the index and go to it. I also don't like the Ten Commandments for kids section. The 4th command is not accurate and blatantly wrong. We had to write in the 7th Day is set aside for the Lord, not any day you choose is set aside for the Lord. Over all a good beginner bible. My child is 6 and it keeps her engaged.

Have you kids read the word in a new exciting way, full color! Wonderfully illustrated, you will find images on almost every page. Not to mention words of wisdom, discussion points and many more useful study tools. Each book begins with a page helping you understand its contents. And you will find a useful index and maps at the end of the bible. Dive into an adventurous bible!

I really like the feel of this bible. It's very colorful, and I even like the the soft pages. I like all the pictures and extr features, even though I don't fully agree with everything said in them. I'm not a huge fan if the nirv version, due to a lot of the wording. And I would clarify the 'early readers' and say this would probably be age appropriate for kids over ten.

The young reader in my house was so very excited to get her first "big kid" Bible! We have had many children's Bibles that we've loved, but it was time to step up beyond selected stories. This Bible is very age appropriate and includes wonderful explanation pages for each book that even we as adults can learn from. Questions such, "Who wrote this book?" and "What can we learn about God from this book?" give great background.

Other favorite features include the "Live It" devotionals, and the "How to Pray" and "Questions Kids Ask" pages with scripture references.

We love this Bible, and consider it a gift to our family as we begin teaching about locating scripture and books of the Bible. It is engaging for young readers, but also complete. Very highly recommended.

After going through the technical aspects of NIrV ADVENTURE BIBLE I sat down with my 6 year old grandson to do a Bible Study. I chose the book of Proverbs.
Our first impression of the book; cool! It’s special edition 3-D cover quickly attracted my grandson who wanted the Bible instantly. I personally played with various angles intrigued by what I saw. Getting past the pleasure of the book cover design I read the information presented about what an NIrV was, this was important for me because I have read the NIV Bible but not the New International Readers Version. Of course there was the section on “How to use this Bible written in very simple, large font, terms; perhaps grown up Bibles should do the same. The overall opinion of my grandson, his sister, their mother and myself was this is indeed a good Bible.
I chose the book of Proverbs because I knew I could explain the verses easily to a six year old. As with every book in the NIrV Bible the overview contains what individuals studying the Bible need to know: who wrote it, when was it written and why was it written. It also points out verses that are relevant to children. I used the recommendation to read Proverbs 3:5-6 which happens to be one of my favorites.
The two verses generated an excellent discussion between myself, my grandson and his 10 year old sister. It was clear to me that they both understood the verse and could apply it to their own life, which is what we want when our children, grandchildren, read God’s word.
There are quite a few Bible nuggets presented in the NIrV ADVENTURE BIBLE. However, I suspect that one of the attractions for young people is the adventure theme woven throughout the book. There are pictures of: elephants, parrots, frogs, and monkeys that ask “Did You Know” tells us to “Live It!” and share various treasures. “Life in Bible Times” signs teach various historical information.
The NIrV ADVENTURE BIBLE is written on the level of an early reader age 6 -10 years old. Yet I will be sharing some of the information in it with my adult Bible Study group.
I definitely recommend this Bible be purchased.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.xx Marsha L Randolph

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this Bible from Zonderkidz via the BookLook Bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. My opinions are my own.

If you are looking for a Bible for young readers, look no further than Adventure Bible for Early Readers. The true meaning of the bible is still intact, it's just made easier for younger readers to understand. For example, a large hard to read word might be replaced with a simple and much more easier to understand vocabulary.

Throughout the bible are some facts or explanations that are highlighted. There are illustrations as well. Keep in mind that this is not a very young bible reader edition! All of the adult situations and violence are still intact. That being said, I think this is a great starter book for the 8-11 year olds who want to read the whole story and not let complicated words frustrate them. I highly recommend this bible!

Note: I received this book free from the publisher from a book review program. This was my honest opinion about the book and I did not need to leave a positive review.

There have been numerous amounts of Bibles since the translation to English many years ago. Since the last decade, consumers have seen Bibles for all different ages, including toddler rhyming Bibles that follow the important stories.

This new edition is the best one so far. I might be a little biased because I have taught reading to some of my students. A Bible for early readers is the best idea so far. The Bible won't be 'dumbed' down, just because the child is still a toddler, but rather the words are a little easier to read.

The Adventure Bible for Early Readers takes you on a fun, exciting journey through God’s Word. Along the way you’ll meet all types of people, see all sorts of places, and learn all kinds of things about the Bible. Most importantly, you’ll grow closer in your relationship with God. Here’s a quick tour through the features:

Life in Bible Times - Articles and illustrations describe what life was like in ancient days
People in Bible Times - Articles offer close-up looks at amazing people of the Bible
Let’s Live It! - Hands-on activities help you apply biblical truths to your life
Did You Know? - Interesting facts help you understand God's Word
Words to Treasure - Great verses to memorize
Twenty special pages - Games and other Bible fun, all with a jungle safari theme
Book introductions, a dictionary, and color maps
Includes the New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) that is perfect for children learning to read and explore the Bible for the first time on their own.

My son loves this Bible. He has had it for first & second grade, and he loves to read verses from it. It is basically a simplied NIV so kids that age can better understand it. He goes to a Christian school, and his teacher likes to hear verses from it as well as a more "adult" Bible. Highly recommend. Someone mentioned binding: Ours has held up for almost 2 years and it's hardback with a paper cover. The paper cover is tearing, but it's a book cover.

I admit, I like the NIrV translation for my youngest daughter. It draws from the NIV version, which is one of many literal translations of the Bible. This means that the NIV text is a word for word translation of the original Greek and Hebrew texts with the intent of conveying the literal meanings rather than attempting to capture and interpret the thoughts and meanings that the original texts were attempting to convey. The NIrV takes the NIV text and uses smaller words, even including definitions of more difficult words within the text, shorter sentences, and they broke the chapters up into smaller sections in order to assist young readers.

More than just an easier to read text, this Bible is colorful and engaging. Each page is colorful, with either colored chapter numbers, section headings, text boxes, or illustrations. The Bible is full of "Did You Know?" titbits, "Words to Treasure" memory verse suggestions, and "Live It" ideas. I like that the pages, while thinner than a typical child's story book, are not tissue paper thin as most bibles are. I love that the words are spaced in such a way that a new, independent reader can easily read them without getting lost in lines spaced to close together.

I love the book introductions that include who wrote the book, why it was written, what we can learn about God in the book, important people, when and where it happened and the stories included in the book. But what I like best is the my daughter loves having and reading her very first "real" Bible. This is a great was to transition from Bible story books to the true word of God.

I did receive a copy of this Bible from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Although the cover states that it's for early readers, this Bible is not exactly easy reading for really early readers. It's perfect for most 2nd graders. The cover has one of those 3D motion-changing pictures on it which draws kids in like a magnet. The best thing about this Bible is that it is full-color. There are cute little captions and inset pictures throughout these pages that make it really engaging for kids. There are opportunities for some back-and-forth interaction, as well as explanations that make it easier for children to understand the customs and traditions of the biblical period. As a Christian parent, it's my privilege to share these stories with my kids, reading it with them and talking about it with them. I received this book to review; the opinions shared here are 100% mine.

This Bible is such a fun way to introduce early readers to scripture. Each chapter is filled with full-color “Did You Know,” “People in Bible Times,” and “Live It!” notes for easy application and understanding. At the very center of the Bible are several full color pages, including “10 Commandments for Kids,” “Bible Themes,” and “Famous Old Testament Prophets.” Each chapter starts with beautiful illustrations and an explanation of who wrote the book, why, for whom, and important teachings. It’s a Bible that I’ll be excited to read to my daughter because it’s not a cheesy kid’s version, and I’ve actually grabbed it quickly to use as a reference when my Bible was in another room! This is a Bible that will grow with my kiddo and keep her interested in God’s Word for years.

This kids bible has a lenticular 3D motion with a jeep on the cover. This is very eye catching, it is a sticker as we discovered. It’s intended for ages 6-10. It has color throughout the book.

My daughter (7 yrs old) LOVES this bible!! The outside is a beautiful vibrant pink with a big butterfly. Scripture is NIV but with words a child who is still learning can easily understand. My daughter wants to read from her new bible all the time and is excited to take it to church. She actually wants to read aloud in Sunday School! I highly recommend this bible.

This bible was not new. I bought it for about $22, when it arrived it had a sticker priced at $18. The Bible looked like it was in a warehouse for years, was full of dust and even looked like it could have been dragged around. I will definitely be returning this.

I'm not particularly a fan of the NIV translation in general, but I like that this version makes Scripture accessible to young children. I had the opportunity to review this for my daughter as part of the BookLook Blogger group. After having the chance to look through it we chose to purchase the same Bible for two young boys in our church who chose to follow Christ a few weeks ago. It has been great for them as well.

This book is not for young children unless you are ready to explain to them what sex is. In Hosea chapter 4 states that "They will have sex with prostitutes." And "After all, the men themselves have sex with sinful women." This is not my idea of a childrens book.
