Adventure Bible for Early Readers
Adventure Bible for Early Readers

Review:I purchased this because it was the required Bible for 1st graders. Although it is targeted for ages 6-10, of course for a six year old it is definitely still very challenging to read and understand but I feel like it might become a favorite in just a few years. I like this slightly simplified version and the commentary boxes, colors on pages, and images are appealing to kids. I also love the hard cover, which will preserve this Bible for many years to come! I do hope my review is also helpful i... Read more

When God Made You
When God Made You

Review:If you have a child, know a child, or just even need some encouragement as an adult—go get this book now! Because we all long and desire to know how we fit into this world. We all need assurance that we are deeply loved and a unique creation. And this book delivers on just that through vibrant and adorable artwork, and inspiring words.

It is a story told through the eyes of a narrator reminding a precious little girl that God made her, thinks about her, sees her, delights in her, and smil... Read more

The Pope Answers Letters from Children Around the World
The Pope Answers Letters from Children Around the World

Review:Such a sweet book that helps teach kids about important aspects of their faith, as well as really humanizing the Pope as a person. It deals with questions as innocent as "why do you like soccer?" to as complex as "will my atheist grandfather go to heaven?"

The illustrations were done by the children asking the questions, and the kids love to look at the drawings. It is also clear that Pope Francis actually read all the letters because he references the pictures the children drew.

The Ben Carson Story (ZonderKidz Biography) - Gifted Hands
The Ben Carson Story (ZonderKidz Biography) - Gifted Hands

Review:I am currently reading it to my fifth graders. This is the second time I have read this book to my students;the first being my then fourth graders. Each time, the class was enthralled with the book. We need MORE books like this, with realistic story lines and applicable messages that children can apply and get life lessons and inspiration from. I feel the current crop of trendy books are pushing more and more "empty calorie" books on children. Great book! I am ordering several copies for our s... Read more

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible
God's Little Princess Devotional Bible

Review:I really thought this might have more interactive stories or at least a question and answer part. The stories are short but sometimes I don't feel like they are even written for a child. They use actual Bible verses which is great but the stories afterward to coorelate with the Bible are sometimes lacking. Would not recommend for 4 year old as books says, maybe 6-7 year old? The Complete Illustrated Children's Bible (The Complete Illustrated Children’s Bible Library)
The Complete Illustrated Children's Bible (The Complete Illustrated Children’s Bible Library)

Review:I am so thoroughly impressed with the illustrations in this Bible. I had a children's Bible when I was growing up that is in a bin somewhere! I loved it. But I think I love this one more. In addition to beautiful illustrations, the stories are short and keep my 2-year-old's attention. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone. Read more

A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God
A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God

Review:The book is well written with thought provoking insights that answers the critics concerning Jesus' identity. It stops the mouths of naysayers who adamantly deny the One who was, and is, and is to come! Excellent work! Read more

The Bondage of the Will
The Bondage of the Will

Review:WARNING - Do not buy Sovereign Grace Publishers Henry Cole translation of Bondage of the Will.

After slogging through 95 pages of its barely understandable jargon, I asked my dad, Pastor Gerry Mohr (LCMS) if Luther's reputation for intellect was, perhaps, a bit unearned. He replied, "Cole whipped out his translation effort in three months or less. Luther's original is a direct reply to a work by Erasmus directly aimed against what Luther was teaching. Cole does not take the time to und... Read more

Jesus Calling Bible Storybook
Jesus Calling Bible Storybook

Review:Lovely book that makes reading Bible stories easy for kids and parents. We take turns reading this book aloud in our house (8, 11 and 41 year old). The illustration are beautiful too and I like the Jesus calling, message part, that encourages us nightly. Great book, a great present idea too. I think I will be buying some as Christmas gift additions to my close friends who have kids who are open to reading the Bible. Nice way to tie the true meaning for Christmas in!! I love all Sarah Young's b... Read more
