(Quoting the little guy) I like it because it told you about the teeth, which kinds of sharks they were, how they hunt, what they eat, and other interesting information about sharks. It was a little hard to read, but I liked it anyway.

I thought he really enjoyed reading it, and he enjoyed relaying the infromation he picked up from reading it. I liked the retention, and that the book helped spark interest in reading!

This was purchased for my 5 year old daughter who is really into sharks and all things marine - its a good informative book with the kid of photos she enjoys. However there is a page which pictures a girl who got her arm bitten off by a shark. My daughter found this very scary and is now afraid where she was just interested before. My bad for not looking over the book myself before we sat down to read it but just thought a heads up for other potential buyers might be useful.

Our 4 yr old grandson is very interestd in sharks and volcanoes.
He cannot read words yet, however he memorizes the page information.
One page about the girl who lost her arm to a shark might frighten a young child.
It was just a fact to him.

Like many other children, my little boy is fascinated by sharks. This one includes scientific facts which help to satisfy his thirst for knowledge. It's a must-read for him every night. He gets very animated in discussing the facts presented in the book.

I bought this along with the Shark coloring book and shark tattoos for my best friends 6 year old son for Christmas. He has had many hours of fun learning about his newest compulsion. A definite hit for the little shark fanatic!

I bought this book for one of my grandchildren, who has an interest in sharks. The pictures are nice. The text has some good information, though because this is a Level 2 book, I assume they think a second grader can read it. However, some of the vocabulary is probably too advanced. The stupid puns (with upside down answers) at the top of some pages will probably escape the child. The main problem I have with it is that it refers to something pertaining to evolution several times. This makes the book worthless to me. Evolution is just a bunch of fairy tales. It serves no purpose to put it in a book of this type; the facts are sufficient. I might read a book that has references to evolution in it, but there is no way I would ever give such a book to a child without some careful teaching. Will a second grader understand my explanations of why evolution is a collection of just-so stories? I don't know, and I'm not willing to take a chance.

I also felt the information about the woman who was injured by a shark was ill advised. Most people know sharks can be dangerous. But I was concerned about how a sensitive child might react. Our grandchild probably is drawn to sharks precisely because they are considered nasty. But a little more care in selecting facts to present would be a good thing.

I will see if I can find a good child's book on sharks that doesn't have this problem. It was a mistake to buy a pig in a poke, and I didn't think of the potential problems until after I had ordered it.

Very colorful Book. Great for 1st graders with some reading skills. Our 6 year old Grandson is really into sharks at the moment (Next week it may be different LOL) so we bought him this. He has had me read it to him a few times since we have got it. We are happy with our choice.
I depend on reviews when deciding on what products to purchase. I take the time to write reviews in the hopes that it will help someone to make an informed buying choice. I hope my efforts are appreciated.Have a Great Day.

When it comes to educating children, I know I can always count on National Geographic. There books are filled with amazing photographs along with great text to help teach children. This book is no exception.

This book teaches children all about sharks in a fun way. It not only has great photographs and easy to follow text, but this book also has interactive features. It asks kids questions, has riddles and is filled with fun facts.

If your child is interested in learning about sharks, this book is one you should really consider.

National Geographic has such a good feeling for children books, always provide best looking books.

My boy is in love with sharks and he pressures me to buy literally every book about them. The last shark book I had to bought him is this one: Sharks: Kids book of fun facts & amazing pictures on animals in nature (Animals of The World Series)

My 1st grader is obsessed with sharks and this is one of his favorite books because he could mostly read it himself. I helped with the bigger words, but by the end of the book, he was identifying some of those too! Really impressed with the pictures and the info in this one.
