As always, a quick, exciting read! Too bad my husband and I are coming close to the end of the written series and will have to wait for more. As former Wyoming people, we enjoy the setting and the people...plus the author has improved with each book.

I have enjoyed all of the Joe Pickett series, and feel like he is part of my family. I get drawn into each and every book.
Just love the descriptions of the Wyoming area and makes me want to visit the Parks

I've really been enjoying the series but there are things in this book that are getting to me a bit. The blatant anti government scree is getting annoying. There is a sentence about a gmc dealer who suffered because "the government took over General Motors ". The fact of the matter is the government didn't take over anything, just bailed out the auto companies which enabled hundreds of thousands of employees and residual companies to keep their jobs. In addition, every penny of the bail out was paid back with interest.
I'm also getting weary of most characters being either good or bad. The earlier books maintained a suspension of disbelief by having characters fleshed out better and more multi dimensional. Possible Spoiler Alert:
The sheriff is an idiot and all bad, as are most deputies. (Government bad after all)
Foster daughter teenager only agsty and belligerent.
All tourists are rich idiots who dress stupidly.
Wife is stunningly beautiful, extremely brilliant, and pure as the driven snow.
The Native Americans (Indians as they call themselves!?) are all caricatures.
I used the whisper sync as I read, and must say the narrator is extremely talented, and keeps the characters succinct. He's one of the best I've heard.
I haven't given up on the series, I still enjoy it a lot. I may be a bit critical because of my binge reading the series.

C.J. Box continues to entertain us with great characters dealing with vicious opponents and challenging situations. Focus is more on his falconer friend than the Wyoming Game Ranger but everyone is threatened.

As a retired state law enforcement officer, I always appreciate Mr. Box's accuracy involving the politics of the job. The twist and turns of the story line keep me rivited. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and looking forward to the next in this series. The pickett's may be fictional, but theres no doubt they are based on reality. Mr. Box, please keep the stories coming!

This was really good because at last you learn about Nate and understand his life on the run. He and Joe continue to help each other when it is required. It was also interesting to learn more about falconry. Very good story and as usual could not put it down. Love the series and will be sad when there are no more to read.

This was a great book. Joe Pickett, as usual, got into trouble with the local sheriff and other members of law enforcement agencies. But came out on top after all the static he received from fellow law enforcement agencies. Written real well. Maintained my attention throughout the whole book.

This was an interesting expansion of the Nate Romanowski character. I'm sure that Box readers were looking for more information on Nates past life and how he became involved with Pickett's brood. This book was very enjoyable reading.
