I love the shifter genre and have been reading books in this realm for years. It is rare that I find a new author with an original voice. However I found a great (new to me) author in Layla Nash. Here are my ratings for Thrill of the Chase (City Shifters: the Pride Book 1)

This book 1 of the City Shifters: The Pride series and is a great end of the summer read, Logan is the Alpha of his small pride of lion shifter brothers and it's time to find mates, he's tough and in control until he decided to pick on the wrong head chef Natalia at the restaurant she works for and she is not having a good day. I loved this story but I would have liked to have more of Natalia's backstory to have a better understanding of her reactions and how she reacted to certain events throughout the story. But I did love the close connection to family that the pride exhibited. Well written with only a couple of errors...I can appreciate that! Looking forward to the next in this series. 4 1/2 stars
I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

I enjoy reading about shifters, but have started steering clear of all books with naked man chests on the cover. Thrill of the Chase is basically a run-of-the-mill paranormal romance (complete with naked man chest). And yet, it hit all the buttons just right, didn't get bogged down in long gratuitous sex scenes, was well-edited, and pretty much redeemed the genre. I especially appreciated how the author didn't try to pad out the book to twice its length, which spurred me on to download book two immediately. Actually, I probably should download book three as well to have on hand just in case....

I loved Natalia & Logan, (and his brothers) although Logan could have used a bit more fleshing out in the character department, it wasn't enough to spoil the story. Her reaction to finding out he was a Lion was refreshing change from most shifter romances. I guess my main complaint was the changing POV. Sometimes it was 1st person from her POV, sometimes from his, but other times it was third person from both of them. It got confusing in places. Still, I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to the next two installments!

I liked this story very much. It was interesting to read about lion shifters. It was especially great to find out their feelings and beliefs regarding family. I also liked how the hero was not an over-the-top macho alpha. Very nice for a change. I can't wait to read about the rest of the pride family. I hope they are as enjoyable to read as this one was. Cudos to Ms. Nash for a finely crafted story.

Borrowed with Kindle Unlimited. The first chapter of this story was so funny the people in Starbucks were looking at me. Layla captured the heroine's voice so perfectly. I heard the feisty french accent in my head. This is one of the few stories where the love/lust was instant that I actually didn't roll my eyes. Very well done, with enough adventure to make it extra spicy. Will be reading through the entire series. Well done, Ms. Nash. And great cover. ;)

loved this book. It's funny, sexy, and sweet. When chef Natalia yells at Logan and throws him out of her restaurant, he and his lion both know they have found their mate. He just has to convince her of it. I love the way Logan treasures Natalia and how she instinctively turns to him for comfort even though they don't know each other well. This is a great romance and I enjoyed it immensely.

Excellent! This is the way I love to read shifter books. I love when the alpha knows his mate, suffers angst when he is not sure of himself, and steamy sex. The next book seems to be equally endowed. I love it. This author is new to me but I will be following her and her great writing. If you love shifter stories as I have described, do not hesitate to get this one. You will be most happy to read about Natalia and Logan. It has humor too!

I received this book free for an honest review. I don't normally give out 5 stars but this one deserves it. Has everything you need in a book romance, suspense good writing and a great story. First book I have read from this author and definitely will read more. Hope there will be stories about all the brothers. And then some with the wolves Rafe and Ruby. I recommend this book if you like shifters and romance.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was great.
I liked the dynamic between the two main characters, Natalia and Logan.
Layla Nash was able to create a story that keeps you intrigued and entertained as you are reading.
The reader is also introduced to Logan's family. We learn just enough about these characters to hopefully see them in some of her upcoming releases. .

This was an easy read. I always enjoy reading about lion shifters. I can understand though why Natalie would have been terrified for the first time seeing him. Logan was so gentle and understanding with her. Natalie seemed to have no trouble getting herself into messes. I enjoyed the supporting characters. I will continue reading Layla's books.

Fast paced engaging read. One feisty chef who rules her kitchen with an iron hand and one alpha werelion collide head on over a steak dinner. Sparks fly and trouble follows. Really liked the story line and getting to know Logan and Nat. Hope we get more background on Nat in the series to come. Who will be the next brother to find a mate?

I really enjoyed reading Thrill of the Chase. I laughed when Chase got told off. I could really picture the scene. I liked the way the brothers all rallied round to protect Natalie. Won't give to much away so that it won't spoil it for other readers. Thank you so much Leyland.

Logan and Natalie's HEA love story. She meets Logan when he visits the restaurant where she is the chef. Natalie has to deal with a dishonest manager at the restaurant plus several other surprises she never expected. The chemistry between her and Logan is electric. This is a honest review for an ARC received.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Thrill of the Chase. Natalia is a spitfire who doesn't take crap from anyone. Logan and Natalia make a wonderful couple and the addition of Logan's brothers was wonderful. I can't wait to read about the rest of the series. I received this in exchange for an honest review

A romance story about Natalie (new great chef) and Logan (lion shifter). They get off to rough start and Natalie has no idea shifters exist. I thought the dinner near the end where Logan's brothers help them get back together was a great touch. Loved the characters and story development.

I generally do not seek out shifter romances but I liked this one and thought it was a good start to a new series...it was fun to read about an alpha taken down a notch by a woman he is smitten with!

I enjoyed reading this book as it was interesting and creative. The characters are well developed and the storyline includes more than just sex. I like stories that a strong on family and commitment as the series is.

Very enjoyable afternoon read. This was a very nice story, action and romance, what more could you ask for. I really enjoyed the in depth details regarding the pride (family) traditions. Would definitely recommend.
