I was excepting to laugh out loud. But instead, this book wasn't even all that funny. Also, I read this book in 4 days and now its over. I could've just bought something else that was going last a while. I basically put my money down the drain. I was very disappointed.

I really loved this book because James Patterson uses hummer in his books but he does not use to much hummer. I gave this book a five star rating because I feel like Jamie is my roll modal he took on bullies and was in a competition at the same time Jamie really taught me how to preserve. This is a really good book! I hope you read it right away! :) :) :)

Jamie Grimm has been dealt a few tough blows that have landed him with his aunt, uncle and cousins. Unfortunately, one of those cousins happens to be the class bully at the middle school Jamie now attends.
And how does Jamie deal with all this? By comedy. He's so funny that he draws a crowd at a different uncle's diner. But when this uncle suggests Jamie try out for the local first round of the funniest kid in America contest, Jamie balks. He's not really that funny, is he? Would he win?
Being a book about a comedian, I'm not that surprised I found it funny. I chuckled and laughed at the jokes throughout the book. Some of them are from other comedians, but that doesn't make them any less funny. I liked Jamie and rooted for him to win.
My problem with the book came from the plot. The main plot was predictable, but that's not really a complaint for me. On the other hand, I did feel that there was potential for more conflict. The set up was there, but then those plot threads were dropped. I know I'm talking about a book aimed at late elementary school on, but why introduce those potential conflicts and then drop them.
In the end, I'm sure the target age won't mind at all. I certainly enjoyed the book as I read it. But those dropped plot threads really could have led to something better.

This book and the following were donated to Lee Elementary School in Chicago. The puppet-related books are for this school's librarian who engages students with a variety of ways to tell a story, and directs an annual musical starring the K-8 students.

It made the book more interesting when the main character is in a wheelchair. The not-so-good part is that the author wasn't really creative when he named chapters. Other than that this was a good book.

Jamie is amazing and very funny. He inspired me to keep doing what I believe that is right. Helping the poor, cleaning the environment to make it a better place. Jamie keep being funny and making me laugh my butt off.
Thanks Jamie, I owe you a laugh.

I really loved this book because it's lesson teaching and it's a great story. It's heart warming and is really really great. I recommend this book to all junior high school students if they love laughs.
